In this paper, using B.Ricceri's three critical points theorem, we prove the existence of at least three classical solutions for the problem $$\{u^{(4)}(t)={\lambda}f(t,\;u(t)),\;t{\in}(0,\;1),\\u(0)=u(1)=u^{\prime}(0)=u^{\prime}(1)=0,$$ under appropriate hypotheses.
In this paper, we initiate the concept of almost ζ- contractions via Simulation functions to find fixed points on M- metric spaces, and prove some related fixed points results for such mappings. Moreover an illustration is provided to show the applicability of our obtained results.
The notion of difference for two convex compact sets in Rⁿ, proposed by Rubinov et al, is generalized to R/sub mxn/. A formula of the difference for the two sets, which are convex hulls of a finite number of points, is developed. In the light of this difference, the relation between Clarke generalized Jacobian and quasidifferential, in the sense of Demyanov and Rubinov, for a nonsnooth function, is established. Based on the relation, the method of estimating Clarke generalized Jacobian via quasidifferential for a certain class of function, is presented.
This study describes the reliability of pragmatic combinations of acupuncture points for lateral epicondylalgia (LE) as prescribed by physiotherapists who were experts in acupuncture. Raters (n = 14; 33-59 years) independently prescribed acupuncture points for 30 simulated human patients with LE who were surveyed via a printed questionnaire. The frequency and cooccurrence of acupuncture points prescribed for patients with lateral epicondylitis were assessed. Absolute agreement and Light's kappa (${\kappa}_{Light}$) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to quantify the interrater agreement. Raters prescribed 103 unique acupuncture points in different combinations with a median (min-max) of 5 (0-11) acupuncture points. The most prescribed acupuncture point was LI-11 (297 of 420; 71%), and the most common cooccurring acupuncture points were LI-11 and LI-4 (160 of 420; 38%). The absolute agreement for prescribing the acupuncture points ranged from 70% (point GB-20) to 0% (points LI-10, SP-6, LI-11, GB-34, LI-12, and LI-4). Point LR-3 showed the highest interrater reliability for prescribing the acupuncture points [${\kappa}_{Light}=0.112$, 95% CI = (0.055-0.194)], whereas point LI-4 showed the lowest reliability [${\kappa}_{Light}=-0.003$, 95% CI = (-0.024 to 0.024)]. These findings suggest that pragmatic prescriptions of acupuncture points for LE are unreliable among physiotherapists who are experts in acupuncture. Explicit, high-level evidence-based rules for prescribing and teaching combinations of acupuncture points for LE are warranted.
We determine reducibility points of degenerate principal series for exceptional p-adic groups of type $G_2$ via Jacquet module techniques and Hecke algebra isomorphisms.
PURPOSE: This study examined the effects of breathing exercises via joint mobilization on the lung function and spinal alignment of 30 straight-necked women in their 20 s and 30 s. METHODS: The participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group who performed breathing exercises via joint mobilization, and a control group who performed general stretching exercises. The differences between the two groups were measured and compared at three points in time: during the pre-examination, after four weeks of intervention, and after a four-week maintenance period. The changes in each group were measured before and after the intervention and after a one-month maintenance period and compared. For data analysis, the SPSS 22 was used to obtain the mean and standard deviation with a significance level of α = .05. RESULTS: Eight weeks of breathing exercises via joint mobilization and general stretching exercises positively impacted the lung function and spinal alignment in straight-necked patients. In particular, the experimental group showed more significant differences in spinal alignment after four weeks period of intervention and four weeks of maintenance. CONCLUSION: Breathing exercises via joint mobilization can be considered an effective intervention that can improve the respiratory volume and spinal alignment for patients with straight necks.
A quantitative relationship between Leidenfrost point and surface characteristics such as surface material and roughness is investigated. Based on the relationship, we have fabricated the surfaces with their Leidenfrost points (LFP) tuned by controlling surface coating and structures. As discovered by Leidenfrost, liquids placed on a hot plate levitate on the gas phase-air gap formed by the vaporization of liquids. This phenomenon is called 'Leidenfrost effect'. A change of LFP has attracted many researchers for several years but the ability to tune LFP is still a remaining issue. Many of previous work has progressed for various conditions so the systematic approach and analysis are needed to clearly correlate the LFP and the surface conditions. In this report, we investigate a relation of surface energy and LFP using various coating materials such as Octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) and 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-Perfluorooctyltrichlorosilane (FOTS). Also, we analyze how surface roughness affects LFP via surface micro structuring with ICP-RIE fabrication process. The improved understanding can have potential applications such as the control of liquid droplet behavior at elevated temperatures for efficient cooling system.
This paper describes a three-dimensional reference trajectory generation method for giving commands to an unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The trajectory is a set of consecutive curves with constant acceleration during each interval and passing through via-points at specified times or speeds. The functional inputs are three-dimensional positions and times (or speeds) at via-points, and velocities at both boundaries. Its output is the time series of position values satisfying the piecewise constant acceleration condition. To be specific, the shape of the trajectory, known as the path, is first represented by splines using third degree polynomials. A numeric algorithm is then suggested, which can overcome the demerits of cubic spline method and promptly generate a piecewise constant acceleration trajectory from the given path. To show the effectiveness of the present scheme, trajectory generation cases were treated, and their speed calculation errors were evaluated.
