제강슬래그의 카드뮴 제거능 평가 및 필요반응시간 결정 (Estimation of the Removal Capacity for Cadmium and Calculation of Minimum Reaction Time of BOF Slag)

  • 본 연구에서는 해안지역의 지반개량과 통시에 오염된 간극수를 정화하기 위한 방법으로 반응컬럼을 이용한 연직배수 공법의 반응컬럼 길이의 결정을 위하여 제강슬래그의 반응성을 평가하였다. 제강슬래그의 카드륨에 대한 반응성을 초기 농도와 pH의 변화에 따라 실험을 수행하였다. 반응시간에 따른 카드륨의 제거량을 유사이차 반응식을 이용해서 평형흡착량($q_e$)과 유사이차 반응상수($k_2$)를 통해 정량적으로 평가하였다. 필요 반응시간은 유사이차 반응모델에서 계산된 평형흡착량($q_e$)와과 유사이차 반응상수($k_2$)의 곱의 역수로 제안하였다. 필요 반응시간을 이용하여 반응컬럼의 길이를 결정할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The horizontal high energy rotor ball mill ($Simoloyer^{(R)}$) is used to break and activate dry solids. It is used for dry-milling and in the vertical mount for wet-milling in leaching processes. Technical electric arc furnace (EAF) dust with high contents of zinc oxide, zinc ferrite and magnetite is efficiently separated by ambient temperature leaching.   • Oxy-coal combustion for $CO_2$ capture in coal power plants entails a mode switching from air-firing to oxyfiring. In this study, procedure of the mode switching was investigated and discussed through experiments in pilot scale facilities: (1) a 0.3 $MW_{th}$ furnace with a vertical single burner and a FGR(Flue Gas Recirculation) system (2) a 1 $MW_{th}$ furnace with horizontal 4 burners and a FGR system. Principle of the mode switching was established and performed with control of FD fan, FGR fan, ID fan and oxygen flow rates. We have found that equivalence ratio in the oxy-firing mode should be increased more than that in the air-firing to achieve stable mode switching. Control of FD, ID and FGR fans should be performed carefully in the mode switching, in the sense of complete combustion and flame attachment. Moisture contents in the ash and the flue gas recycled to the primary oxidizer stream should be removed to prevent condensation, corrosion and duct clogging.

Bridgman법에 의한 $Cdln_2Te_4$ 단결정 성장과 에너지 밴드갭의 온도 의존성 (Growth and temperature dependence of energy band gap for $Cdln_2Te_4$ Single Crystal by Bridgman method)

  • A stoichiometric mixture for $Cdln_2Te_4$ single crystal was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. The $Cdln_2Te_4$ single crystal was grown in the three-stage vertical electric furnace by using Bridgman method. The quality of the grown crystal has been investigated by the x-ray diffraction and the photoluminescence measurements. The (001) growth plane of oriented $Cdln_2Te_4$ single crystal was confirmed from back-reflection Laue patterns. The carrier density and mobility of $Cdln_2Te_4$ single crystal measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $8.61{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$ and $242\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $Cdln_2Te_4$ single crystal obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;1.4750\;eV\;-\;(7.69{\times}\;10^{-3}\;eV)T^2/(T+2147)$.

초음파분무 연소법에 의한 나노결정 ZnO 초미분체 제조 (Preparation of Nanocrystalline ZnO Ultrafine Powder Using Ultrasonic Spraying Combustion Method)

  • For mass product of nanocrystalline ZnO ultrafine powders, self-sustaining combustion process(SCP) and ultrasonic spray combustion method(USCM) were applied at the same time. Ultrasonic spray gun was attached on top of the vertical type furnace. The droplet was sprayed into reaction zone of the furnace to form SCP which produces spherical shape with soft agglomerate crystalline ZnO particles. To characterize formed particles, fuel and oxidizing agent for SCP were used glycine and zinc nitrate or zinc hydroxide. Respectively, with changing combustion temperature and mixture ratio of oxidizing agent and fuel, the best ultrasonic spray conditions were obtained. To observe ultrasonic spray effect, two types of powder synthesis processes were compared. One was directly sprayed into furnace from the precursor solution (Type A), the other directly was heated on the hot plate without using spray gun (Type B). Powder obtained by type A was porous sponge shape with heavy agglomeration, but powder obtained using type B was finer primary particle size, spherical shape with weak agglomeration and bigger value of specific surface area. 9/ This can be due to much lower reaction temperature of type B at ignition time than type A. Synthesized nanocrystalline ZnO powders at the best ultrasonic spray conditions have primary particle size in range 20~30nm and specific surface area is about 20m$^2$/g.

할로겐 램프 열원을 이용한 초전도성 $Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_8$ Fiber의 Float Zone 성장 (Float Zone Growth of Superconduction $Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_8$ Fiber with Halogen Lamp)

  • 할로겐 램프를 열원으로 이용하는 결정성장장치인 부유대역융로를 제작하여 고온초전도체 Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8의 성장에 이용하였다. 제작된 결정성장장치는 할로겐 램프를 초점에 위치시키기 위한 holder unit, 1kW의 할로겐 램프로서 최대 1800℃까지 사용이 가능한 image furnace, 냉각장치, 원료 물질을 공급하는 feeding unit, 성장된 단결정을 인상하는 pulling unit, 그리고 2mm/hr - 40mm/hr의 속도로 상하 이동 및 15rpm -120rpm의 회전이 가능한 제어부 등으로 구성되었다. 300W의 할로겐 램프를 이용하여 Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 fiber를 성장시켰으며 성장된 fiber는 XRD, SEM, EDS 등으로 분석하였다. 성장조건은 공기분위기에서 성장속도 3∼4mm/hr, 상·하부축 회전속도 20∼25 rpm이었으며 성장된 fiber는 Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 기지 내에 (Sr,Ca)CuO2 및 (Sr,Ca)2CuO3의 2차상을 포함하고 있었다.

수직형 유동층로에서 제조된 인공경량 세골재의 특성 (Characteristics of artificial lightweight fine aggregates manufactured by using a vertical fluidizing furnace)

  • 기존의 로타리 킬른으로는 융착 현상 때문에 3 mm 이하 크기의 세골재를 제조하기 어려웠다. 이를 해결할 수 있는 수직형 유동층로를 설계, 제작하고 이로부터 점토 : 석분슬러지 :폐백토 =60 : 30 : 10(wt%)조성의 성형체를 소성하여 비중 $1.1{\sim}1.7$, 흡수율 $11{\sim}19%$의 다양한 특성을 갖는 경량 세골재를 제조하였다. 골재를 발포시키기 위한 최소 소성온도는 $1130^{\circ}C$이었다. $1140^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 소성된 시편은 전형적인 발포 경량골재 특성을 보였으며, 표면에 균열이 크게 벌어져서 내부 층이 드러나 보였다. 그러나 표면에 발생된 균열은 black core 내부로 진행되지 않았기 때문에 흡수율에 영향을 주지 않았다. 소성온도가 증가하면 골재의 shell 두께는 감소하고 black core 영역은 넓어졌으나 유지시간은 미세구조에 따른 영향을 주지 않았다. 소성온도가 증가되면 표면에 액상 발생량이 증가하여 골재의 흡수율은 감소하였다. 또한 소성시간도 골재 흡수율에 큰 영향을 주었는데, 이는 액상을 형성하고 또 생성된 액상이 표면의 개기공을 막아 폐기공으로 변화시키는데 시간이 필요하기 때문인 것으로 생각된다.

  • 탄소중립 목표 달성을 위한 노력으로 세계적으로 석탄화력발전소의 단계적 폐지를 목표로 하고 있지만, 다양한 원인으로 인해 화력발전을 통한 전력 생산과 황산화물(SOx)의 배출은 앞으로도 지속될 것으로 예상한다. 국내에서는 황산화물 처리를 위해 중조(NaHCO3)와 석회소재를 사용하며 중조는 대부분 수입에 의존하고 있다. 따라서 국내 대표적인 부존자원인 석회석을 이용하여 석회소재의 물성 향상을 통해 중조를 대체하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 석회석은 박스형 전기로와 수직형 전기로를 통해 열처리했으며, 수직형 전기로가 가진 구조적 특징에 의해 비표면적 22.33 m2/g, 세공용적 0.14 cc/g의 생석회를 제조하여 석회소재의 물성을 향상 시킬 수 있었다.

벤토나이트-해포석-구아검 혼합물질이 코팅된 제강슬래그의 해수에 대한 투수성 평가 (Assessment of the Hydraulic Conductivity of the Furnace Slag Coated with the Mixture of Bentonite-sepiolite-guargum under Sea Water Condition)

  • Bentonite has been generally used as vertical cutoff barrier material and reported to have several problems regarding its low workability, drying shrinkage cracking by particle cohesion, and ineffective waterproof ability under sea water condition. In this study, the particle sealant, the furnace slag coated by the mixture of bentonite, sepiolite and guargum, was developed to compensate these weak points and the hydraulic conductivity of the particle sealant was evaluated. Drying shrinkage cracking and swelling index was estimated to find the optimal mixing ratio of bentonite, sepiolite and guargum. The hydraulic conductivity of the particle sealants having different amount of sealant (bentonite-sepioliteguargum mixture) coating the furnace slag was estimated using the rigid wall permeameter and flexible wall permeameter. The results showed that drying shrinkage cracking was not found in the bentonite-sepiolite mixture with 20% sepiolite contents and the results from free swelling tests for the sealant having 1 : 0.025, 1 : 0.05 and 1 : 0.075 of weight ratios of bentonite-sepiolite mixture and guargum under simulated sea water condition were higher than those for the bentonitesepiolite mixture without guargum under tap water condition. These three sealants were coated on the furnace slag with 50% and 60% of sealant in the particle sealant and the hydraulic conductivity was estimated. In the cases of the particle sealants having 20% sepiolite in the bentonite-sepiolite mixture and 1 : 0.075 weight ratio of the bentonite-sepiolite mixture and guargum, the hydraulic conductivity from the rigid wall permeameter was below $1.0{\times}10^{-7}$ cm/sec under simulated sea water condition. The hydraulic conductivity of the particle sealant having $1.0{\times}10^{-6}$~$1.0{\times}10^{-7}$ cm/sec by the rigid wall permeameter was estimated using the flexible wall permeameter and found to be below $1.0{\times}10^{-7}$ cm/sec.

수직 Bridgman법에 의한 InSe 단결정의 성장 및 Sn 도핑에 따른 전기.광학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the growth and electrical-optical characteristics of undoped-InSe and Sn-doped Inse single crystals by vertical bridgman method)

  • The undoped-InSe and Sn-doped InSe single crystals were grown by vertical Bridgman method and their properties were invesigated. These crystals were obtained by lowering the quartz ampoule for growth in the furnace and growth rate at optimum condition is 0.4mm/hr. The orientations and the crystallinites of these crystals were identified by X-ray diffraction(XRD), double crystal rocking curve(DCRC) and etch-pit density(EPD) measurements. From the Raman spectrum at room temperature, TO, LO modes together with their overtones and combinations were observed. Optical properties were investigated by photoluminescence at 12K and direct band gap of these crystals obtained from optical absorption spectrum. Compared with undoped-lnSe, electrical properties of Sn-doped InSe were increased and the electrical conductivity type were n-type. But electrical properties along growth direction of crystals and radial direction of wafer showed nearly uniform distribution.
