Rock bolts have been installed into rockmass as a main support system. In order to evaluate the rock bolt integrity using non-destructive technique, the transmission method of the guided ultrasonic wave has been successfully performed. For the transmission method, however, the source for the generation o# guided ultrasonic waves should be installed at the end of the steel bar during construction of the rock bolt in the field. The purpose of this study is to suggest a reflection method that the source and the receiver are installed on the head of the steel bar. The reflection method is compared with the transmission method using non-embedded rock bolts and rock bolts embedded in concrete block. In this experiment, the piezo disc element is used as the source and the AE sensor is used as the receiver. The wavelet transform is applied to determine the energy velocity. The experimental studies show that the reflection method produces almost identical value of the transmission method, and the energy velocity increases with the defect ratio. This study suggests that the reflection method of the guided ultrasonic wave may be a suitable method fur the rock bolt integrity evaluation in the field.
Studies on nondestructive evaluation methods using electromagnetic waves have been commonly conducted to evaluate necking defects in bored piles. However, the propagation of electromagnetic waves are affected by water contents of surrounding materials. This study aims to investigate a suitability of electromagnetic waves for evaluating necking defects in bored piles embedded in sandy soils through laboratory experiments. Laboratory experiments are performed with a model pile having a necking defect. The diameter and length of model pile are 600 mm and 1 m, respectively, and the model pile is embedded in sandy soils with different water contents of 10%, 20%, and 30%. For the propagation of electromagnetic waves, a transmission line is configured in reinforcement cage using an electrical wire. The generation and detection of electromagnetic waves are conducted using a time domain reflectometer. Experimental results show that the peak amplitude of electromagnetic waves reflected at the necking defect decreases with an increase in the water content in sandy soils. In addition, the velocity of electromagnetic waves reflected from the toe of the model pile decreases win an increase in the water content. However, estimated locations of the necking defects are almost the same to that of the actual location of the necking defect. This study demonstrates that electromagnetic waves may be an effective method for evaluating necking defects in bored piles embedded in sandy soils

A preliminary study of the behavior of ultrasonic guided wave mode in a pipe using a comb transducer for maintenance inspection of power plant facilities has been verified experimentally. The mode identification has been carried out in a pipe using the time-frequency analysis methods such as the wavelet transform(WT) and the short time Fourier transform (STFT), compared with theoretically calculated group velocity dispersion curves for longitudinal and flexural modes. The results are in good agreement with analytical predictions and show the effectiveness of using the time-frequency analysis method to identify the individual modes. It was found out that the longitudinal mode(0,1) is less affected by mode conversion compared with the other modes. Therefore, L(0,1) is selected as an optimal mode for the evaluation of the surface defect in a pipe.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of moisture content, temperature, C/N ratio and pH of the sewage sludge mixed with hulle and sawdusts for making compost under aerobic condition and to improve the defect of the structure of experimental equipment heat lose and handling method. and obtained results were as follows 1.The temperature was reached 73$^{\circ}$ C around 50 hours fermentation in the condition of 0.8 L/min. of air and 60.4% of moisture content. and favorable moisture content of initial condition ranged from 50 to 65% 2.The temperature near bottom of the batch composter was decreased due to evaporate water vapor and lose the heat produced during aeration. and it is required to be improved. 3.The temperature in the batch composter from the center to the inside wall surface was gradually decreased. the temperatures of the points located in r=9cm and the wall surface were 4$^{\circ}$ C and 6$^{\circ}$ C respectively. and therefore it is required to be insulated. 4. The maximum C02 production was obtained as 7.3% per volume in the temperature of 63$^{\circ}$C at the moisture content of 60% 5.The temperature range of active microbes growth was found to be as 20$^{\circ}$C to 40$^{\circ}$C in the case of mesophiles and 50$^{\circ}$C to 65$^{\circ}$C in the case of thermophiles due to increase and decrease C02 production. 6.C/N ratio after decomposition was 1.3 to 2.6 smaller than that of initial one due to increase the amount of nitrogen. The more C/N ratio increased. the less the reaction velocity decresed. The optimum of it as found to be 30. 7.pH values after decomposition were slightly increased than that of initial ones. The reaction velocity was decreased at acid and alkall condition. Therefore it is neseseary to neutralize the medium to improve the reaction.
The purpose of this study is grasp the problem of the gymnast, Kim, Dong-Hwa's Kip to Swallow Motion in Rings, and make up for the weak points to help him to perform a better performance. Therefore, two tryouts for $28^{th}$ Athens Olympic Games were filmed using video camera then finalized with Kinematical Analysis using 3D motion analysis program followings are the form of conclusions. 1. In the very first tryout, when he was doing a Swallow Support Scale, his CM position was high and arm slope was deduction because when he was doing Kip, the ascent velocity was low and he tried excessively to pull him on rings due to relying upon angular movement of shoulder joint. 2. When he was doing drop, he let his hip angle bend only little bit and let fall so making shoulder angle wider and maintain the level horizontally occurs strong drop motion when vertical descent is happening. 3. As a result, lowering the direction of a kick makes CM's movement path lower, increase vertical ascent velocity, and it helps to do the Swallow Support motion in short period of time. 4. After a strong drop motion, which is deep and fast, would make rope of ring shake so there is a defect that the body moves to forward area. However, it does not effect in Swallow Support Scale motion. 5. In the second tryout, trunk rotation angle and arm slope was fixed decrease while doing rotary motion. When rotary motion was happening, before the body was going under the rings, maintained his arm slope horizontally so his Swallow Support Scale motion was nearly perfect.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect ammunition performance by applying data mining techniques to the Ammunition Stockpile Reliability Program (ASRP) data of the 155mm propelling charge. Methods: The ASRP data from 1999 to 2017 have been utilized. Logistic regression and decision tree analysis were used to investigate the factors that affect performance of ammunition. The performance evaluation of each model was conducted through comparison with an artificial neural networks(ANN) model. Results: The results of this study are as follows; logistic regression and the decision tree analysis showed that major defect rate of visual inspection is the most significant factor. Also, muzzle velocity by base charge and muzzle velocity by increment charge are also among the significant factors affecting the performance of 155mm propelling charge. To validate the logistic regression and decision tree models, their classification accuracies have been compared with the results of an ANN model. The results indicate that the logistic regression and decision tree models show sufficient performance which conforms the validity of the models. Conclusion: The main contribution of this paper is that, to our best knowledge, it is the first attempt at identifying the significant factors of ASPR data by using data mining techniques. The approaches suggested in the paper could also be extended to other types ammunition data.
A 3 years-old female mixed dog (weighing 5.3 kg) was referred to veterinary teaching hospital of Kangwon National University with primary complaints of syncope, severe exercise intolerance, depression and lethargy. Diagnostic studies revealed polycythemia, right sided cardiac enlargement on thoracic radiography and right-to left atrial septal defect, severe pulmonary stenosis (~5 m/s of peak velocity) and right ventricular hypertrophy. Based on diagnostic findings, the dog was diagnosed as trilogy of Fallot. To improve clinical condition of this dog, diltiazem and enalapril were prescribed with weekly phlebotomy. To author's best knowledge, this is the first case of trilogy of Fallot in Korea.
In this study, we investigated the casting designs for fuel tank valves for LPG automobiles. The valves we studied have two cavities inside the part. There is inevitable air entrapment inside the cavities. In order to reduce this kind of casting defect, we carried out computer simulations of molten metal flow during the diecasting process of the target products. The main process parameters were the ingate position, product direction, and injection velocity. We also examined the possible use of vacuum diecasting. The position of the air entrapment was almost identical for all the ingate positions and product directions. We found that the change of the injection velocity affects the position of the air entrapment. In case of vacuum diecasting, the position of the air entrapment was similar to the previous cases, but it is expected that the air entrapment will be highly reduced in a real situation due to the vacuumed space.

Ultrasonic inspection of heavy walled cast austenitic stainless steel(CASS)welds is very difficult due to complex and coarse grained structure of CASS material. The large size of anisotropic grain strongly affects the propagation of ultrasound by severe attenuation, change in velocity, and scattering of ultrasonic energy. therefore, the signal patterns originated from flaws can be difficult to distinguish from scattered signals. To improve detection and sizing capability of ID connected defect for heavy walled CASS piping welds, the low frequency segmented TRL Pulse Echo and Phased Array probe has been developed. The experimental studies have been performed using CASS pipe mock-up block containing artificial reflectors(ID connected EDM notch). The automatic pulse echo and phase array technique is applied the detection and the length sizing of the ID connected artificial reflectors and the results for detection and sizing has been compared respectively. The goal of this study is to assess a newly developed ultrasonic probe to improve the detection ability and the sizing of the crack in coarse-grained CASS components.

Abstract Scaffold used as a carrier of the cell has been actively conducted using plenty of technology in tissue engineering. ${\beta}$-tricalcium phosphate (${\beta}$-TCP) material has shown good biocompatibility and osteoconductive ability when it was implanted as a bone graft substitute in osseous defect in human and animal studies for bone regeneration. In this study, we fabricated the blended polycaprolactone (PCL) and ${\beta}$-TCP scaffold by the polymer deposition system (PDS). The PCL/${\beta}$-TCP scaffold was fabricated at a temperature of $110^{\circ}C$, pressure of 650 kPa, and scan velocity of 100 mm/sec. The Overall geometry and size of the scaffold were fixed circle type with a diameter of 10 mm and a height of 4 mm. PCL/${\beta}$-TCP scaffold was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Cell attachment and proliferation of the scaffold containing 30 wt% ${\beta}$-TCP was superior to those containing 10 wt% and 20 wt% ${\beta}$-TCP.
