유동함수를 이용한 난류제트혼합유동 계산에 관한 연구 (A Simple Calculational Method by using Modified Von Mises Transformation applied to the Coaxial Turbulent Jet Mixing)

  • 많은 장점에도 불구하고 유동함수를 이용한 수치해석용 격자생성 좌표변환기법의 단점은 저속영역에서의 격자간격이 고속영역에 비해 상대적으로 큼에 따라 수치적 처리에 많은 오차를 내포하고 있다는 점이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 저속영역에서의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 격자간격을 속도크기 및 영역에 따라 적절히 조절할 수 있도록 수학적으로 변형된 압축성 유동함수를 이용한 좌표변환기법을 제안하고 가스터빈엔진에 주로 적용되는 유동모델로서 동심원상 두개 이상의 난류제트혼합유동에 대해 적용하였으며 해당 실험치, 즉 축 방향 평균속도분포, 난류운동에너지, 그리고 난류전단응력분포와 비교하여 난류운동에너지가 약간 과소평가 된 대칭축을 제외한 혼합경계층 내에서 $3.5\%$ 이내의 신뢰성을 확보하였다. 본 기법은 특히 터보팬엔진에 대한 내부흐름들의 혼합유동을 규명하거나 또는 난류전단응력에 의한 제트소음발생 및 저감방법을 도모하는데 유용하게 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

비탈면 안정해석과 유지관리의 통합해석기법 (Integral Method of Stability Analysis and Maintenance of Slope)

  • 비탈면 안정해석 기법과 유지관리를 위한 계측자료 해석기법은 다양하게 제시되어 있지만 두 기법을 연계할 수 있는 방안은 제시되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 진행성 파괴에 대한 비탈면 안정해석과 계측기반의 유지관리를 통합할 수 있는 해석기법을 제안하였다. 시간 열화에 의한 비탈면의 붕괴과정은 강도감소계수를 적용한 지반강도정수를 이용하여 정량화하고, 비탈면 붕괴 시 까지의 안전율과 파괴범위를 산정하였다. 변위는 누적 변위 곡선과 변위 속도 곡선, 변위 역속도 곡선으로 정량화하여 유지관리 기법과 연계하였다. 제안된 절차로 해석을 수행한 결과, 누적 변위 곡선을 이용한 비탈면의 파괴모델은 기존 연구와 동일하게 3차 다항모델로 산정되었다. 붕괴 시점 예측에 적용되는 변위 역속도의 취성재료에서는 1차 직선식, 연성재료에서는 3차 다항식으로 감소되어 Fukuzono(1985)의 제안식과 일치하였으며 붕괴사례와도 유사한 거동을 나타내었다.

ACCURACY OF LAMOST DR1 STELLAR PARAMETERS

  • We adopt the PASTEL catalog combined with SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate the stellar parameters (effective temperature $T_{eff}$, surface gravity log g, metallicity [Fe/H] and radial velocity $V_r$) from the first data release (DR1) of The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) survey. After applying data reduction and temperature constraints to the sample obtained by cross-identification, we compare the stellar parameters from DR1 and PASTEL. The results show that the DR1 results are reliable under certain conditions. We derive a dispersion of 110 K, 0.19 dex, 0.11 dex and $4.91kms^{-1}$ in specified effective temperature ranges, for $T_{eff}$, log g, [Fe/H] and $V_r$ respectively. Systematic errors are negligible except for those of $V_r$. In addition, for stars with PASTEL [Fe/H] < -1:5, the metallicities in DR1 are systematically higher than those in PASTEL.

개량형 공압식 가동보의 잠김흐름 특성 분석을 위한 실험연구 (Analysis of submerged flow characteristics of the improved-pneumatic-movable weir through the laboratory experiments)

  • 본 연구에서는 개량형 공압식 가동보를 대상으로 가동보의 기립 각도변화에 따른 잠김흐름 특성을 분석하고 유량계수를 산정하였다. 실험결과, 위어마루에서 하류수면까지의 높이와 위어마루에서 상류 수면고 높이의 비($h_t/H$)에 대한 유량감소계수($Q_s/Q_1$)의 변화는 ($h_t/H$가 1에 가까울수록 감소하였다. 따라서 보 하류에서의 수심은 상류보다 작지만 보를 통과하는 흐름으로 인해 하류 유속이 빠르게 나타났으며, 유량이 증가할수록 상 하류 수위차는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 같은 유량조건인 경우 하류수두는 L/W가 클수록 크게 증가하였다. 개량형 공압식 가동보의 잠김흐름 유량계수는 가동보의 물리적 제원보다는 상류 접근흐름수두와 상 하류 흐름조건에 의하여 결정되었다.

  • Micro hydraulic turbines take a growing interest because of its small and simple structure as well as high possibility of applying to micro and small hydropower resources. The differential pressure exiting within the city water pipelines can be used efficiently to generate electricity like the energy generated through gravitational potential energy in dams. In order to reduce water pressure at the inlet of water cleaning centers, pressure reducing valves are used widely. Therefore, pressure energy is wasted. Instead of using the pressure reduction valve, a micro counter-rotating hydraulic turbine can be replaced to get energy caused by the large differential pressure found in the city water pipelines. In this paper, detail studies have been carried out to acquire basic design data of micro counter-rotating hydraulic turbine, output power, head, and efficiency characteristics on various number of runner vane. Moreover, the influences of pressure, tangential and axial velocity distributions on turbine performance are also investigated.

  • The carbon dioxide properties change sharply near the critical or pseudo-critical point in the heat transfer processes. The reduction in turbulent, convective heat transfer parameters observed in some supercritical data and in experiments with common gases can be due to property variation, acceleration, buoyancy or combinations of these phenomena, depending on the conditions of the applications. In this study, the measurement for the secondary flow driven by buoyancy was carried out on the supercritical carbon dioxide turbulent flows in the different boundary condition with the constant mass flow rate. The available measuring techniques were used to clarify the behaviour of any supercritical fluid. Laser Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) and a special device was used to measure the secondary velocity and turbulent characteristics of the supercritical flows.

  • We performed angle resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) studies on Ru doped $BaFe_2As_2$ with various Ru contents. Ru, which is doped into a parent compound $BaFe_2As_2$ and substitute Fe, does not donate or accept electrons. However, it induces superconductivity. From ARPES data along the high symmetry cuts and Fermi surface maps, we investigate the electron correlation and carrier density at the Fermi level. We observe that the Fermi velocity increases with Ru doping, suggesting reduction in electron correlation. In addition, we address issues on local vs. itinerant pictures for the magnetism in $BaFe_2As_2$.

  • The technical committee of Soil Dynamics and Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering of Korean Geotechnical Socity has conducted Round Robin Test(RRT) on seismic ground response analyses in 2007. Total 14 participating teams were given exact same soil information of three sites and three input ground motions including two recorded ground motions and one synthetic ground motion. Each team selected its own analysis method and approaches to perform ground response analyses. There were equivalent linear, nonlinear total stress, and nonlinear effective stress approaches, which could be selected. The results from RRT were systematically analyzed and dispersion and variation due to analysis methods, input ground motions, shear velocity profiles, shear modulus reduction curves, damping curves, and other input data are reported by the companion papers.

연료전지 자동차의 공기 공급계용 흡기 소음기의 최적 설계 (Design Optimization of Intake Muffler for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle APU)

  • Fuel cell electric vehicles have some noise problems due to its air processing unit which is required to feed the ambient air into the fuel cell stack. Discrete-frequency noises are radiated from a centrifugal blower due to rotor-stator interaction. Their fundamental frequency is the blade passing frequency, which is determined by the number of rotor blades and their rotating speed. To reduce such noises, multi-chamber perforated muffler has been designed. In this paper, in order to improve the transmission loss of a perforated muffler, the relationship between the impedance model of a perforated hole and its noise reduction performance is studied, and the applicability of a short-length perforated muffler to air processing unit of fuel cell system is described using acoustic simulation results and experimental data. The acoustic velocity vector across the neck of a perforated hole is very important design factor to optimize the transmission of an intake muffler. The suggested short-length perforated muffler is effective on discrete-frequency noises while keeping the volume of intake muffler minimized.

횡단공기류에서의 고압 가솔린 분사시 연료분무 특성 (Fuel-Spray Characteristics of High Pressure Gasoline Injection in Cross Flows)

  • The direct injection into the cylinders has been regarded as a way of the reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. The spray produced by the high pressure injector is of paramount importance in DISI(Direct Injection Spark Ignition) engines in that the primary atomization process must meet the requirement of quick and complete evaporation, mixing with air and combustion especially to prohibit the excessive HC emissions. The interaction between air flow and fuel spray was investigated in a steady flow system embodied in a wind tunnel to simulate the variety of flow inside the cylinder of the DISI engine. The direct Mie scattered and shadowgraph images presented the macroscopic view of the liquid sprays and vapor fields. The velocity and particle size of fuel droplets were investigated by phase doppler anenometer(PDA) system. The processes of atomization and evaporation with a DISI injector were observed and consequently utilized to construct the data-base for the spray and fuel-air mixing mechanism as a function of the flow characteristics.
