Launch Vehicle Telemetry MUX Test by using the Spacecraft Simulator

  • The SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite has the advantage of implementing the imaging mission even though it is night time, cloudy weather, and all weather conditions, which is different from the satellite with the optical payload. This is the reason why the SAR satellite comes into the spotlight in the observation satellite field. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) has been developing the first Korean SAR satellite and is currently integrating and testing the Flight Model. For the launch vehicle service, KARI finalized the selection of the launch vehicle service provider and finished Critical Design Review (CDR) of the interface between the bus and the launch vehicle. KARI and launch vehicle service provider also finished the test of the telemetry interface between the bus and the launch vehicle. The test of the telemetry interface has the purpose of checking the interface of the telemetry which is the SOH(State-of-Health) of the satellite in an early launch stage. For this test, KARI has finished the development of the spacecraft simulator which is composed of the bus simulator to generate the analog telemetry and the launch vehicle simulator to gather the telemetry. In this research, the result of the hardware implementation and the software implementation for the spacecraft simulator were described. Finally the results of the launch vehicle telemetry MUX test which were performed at the launch vehicle provider's design office by using the spacecraft simulator were summarized. It is expected that this simulator will be used in the next test after the manufacture of the launch vehicle.

  • 지난 수십년간 자동차의 배출오염물질은 대도시 대기오염의 주요 원인이 되고 있다. 이 같은 배출가스를 줄이기 위한 정책의 일환으로 배출가스 검사제도가 실시되고 있으나, 이 검사결과에 대한 배출가스 과다차량의 요인분석에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자동차 배출가스 규제가 엄격한 미국 캘리포니아주의 2002년 10월의 자동차 배출가스 검사결과 자료를 이용하여 자동차 배출가스 검사결과에 대한 이항로짓모형을 개발하고, 이를 통해 자동차의 과다배출가스에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인을 분석하였다. 모형추정결과, 차령. 주행거리, 엔진크기, 자동차 제조업체, 배기가스제어장치 장착여부, 검사방식 등이 배기가스 과다배출에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • This paper presents safety assessment scenarios for cyclist autonomous emergency braking(AEB) system. To assess the safety performance of AEB in real traffic situation with limited number of scenarios, scenario should reflect the characteristics of real traffic collision cases. For this, statistic data of real traffic car-to-cyclist collision in Korea are analyzed. Many types of accidents are listed and categorized based on the movement of vehicle and cycle just before the collision. Then, the characteristics, main issues and limitations of each scenarios are discussed. Not only the test scenario itself but also the cost and time for the test are very important issues for the test scenarios to actually repeat the test for various systems. Also, the performance of AEB can be effected by the algorithm of AEB and the technical limitation of the sensors and hardwares. Therefore, required number of tests, possibility of dummy destruction and other technical issues are discussed for each scenarios. Based on these information, typical scenarios are selected. Also, using this information, vehicle speed range, cyclist speed and collision point are established. Proposed scenarios are verified and modified based on the vehicle test results. vehicle test was evaluated 5 times for each scenarios. Based on this results, final test scenarios are modified and proposed.

  • This paper presents development of a vehicle lateral and longitudinal control for autonomous driving control and test results obtained using an electric vehicle. Sliding control theory has been used to develop a vehicle speed and distance control algorithm. The longitudinal control algorithm that maintains safety and comfort of the vehicle consists of a cruise and STOP&GO control depending on traffic conditions. Desired steering angle is determined through the lateral position error and the yaw angle error based on preview optimal control. Motor control inputs have been directly derived from the sliding control law. The performance of the autonomous driving control which is integrated with a lateral and longitudinal control is investigated by computer simulations and driving test using an electric vehicle.   • In this study, a mathematical model fur analyzing the shift characteristics is proposed. The proposed model comprises power transmission system and vehicle system, which are coupled. And On-road car test is carried out in order to extract model parameters. Tile model is composed of a detailed powertrain, an engine/AT housing, a simplified suspension system. tires and a vehicle body model. On the test, the vehicle accelerations and pitch ratio are measured by using accelerometers and gyro sensor. The other data, for example speeds, a throttle position and a brake signal, are taken from sensors which already exist in the vehicle. Using natural frequency and characteristic equation, vehicle model parameters are extracted from experimental data.

  • This paper addresses the results of experimental and analytical study on the effects of dynamic interaction between vehicle and bridge on modal properties of bridge. Based on ambient vibration test and vehicle impact test on a bridge, it is found that the natural frequencies of bridge are varied by vehicle passing. Analytical studies for the effects of vehicle position, speed, damping, mass ratio and frequency ratio on bridge-vehicle interaction are carried out using complex eigenvalue analysis and numerical integration in time domain. The results show that vehicle properties except speed cause significant change of natural frequency as well as damping of bridge.

  • Recently active engine mounting system is developed for improvement of vehicle NVH Problem which is caused by development of high efficient powertrain and lightweight vehicle body. The aims in the development of active engine mounting system is performance confirmation of vehicle to apply active engine mount. In this paper, NVH test was done on test vehicle including active engine mount. And performance of active engine mount is evaluated by controlling active engine mount.

  • Military vehicle equipped with an antenna and a shelter for operating radar has a vibration exposure during driving time. This vibration would have influence on structure of military vehicle critically. In this paper, driving stability of the military vehicle is obtained through the vibration response analysis. And, vibration level of the military vehicle satisfied the military vibration specification through analysis and comparing the MIL-STD-810G. PSD and Grms data obtained by road test can be used for vibration test specification of cabinets and electronic equipment in shelter.

  • The influence of braking force generated by one tire on vehicle dynamics was investigated by simulation and ground test. A 8 d. o. f vehicle model was developed for simulation. And a special device to apply brake pressure to individual wheel was built for vehicle test. As a result of corner braking test on straight driving, the dynamic responses such as yawrate, lateral acceleration and roll angle were produced in the vehicle, which were in a good agreement to the simulation results. This shows that comer braking used in VDC system can control vehicle dynamics to improve controllability and directional stability.
