The tracked vehicle travel on off rod and on rod. So the tracked vehicle need a sufficient stiffness and a lightweight. In this study we performed FEA for the track vehicle and performed topology optimization based on the results of FEA. The displacements of road wheel are used as displacement constraint for topology optimization. We performed topology optimization with the control of the frame size which is the results of topology optimization and suggested the shaped of the tracked vehicle bottom plate of topology optimization
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) uses sensors such as camera, radar, lidar and GPS (Global Positioning System). Among these sensors, the camera has many advantages compared with other sensors. The reason is that it is cheap, easy to use and can identify objects. In this paper, therefore, a theoretical formula was proposed to obtain the distance from the vehicle's front wheel to the lane using a monocular camera. And the validity of the theoretical formula was verified through the actual vehicle test. The results of the actual vehicle test in scenario 4 resulted in a maximum error of 0.21 m. The reason is that it is difficult to detect the lane in the curved road, and it is judged that errors occurred due to the occurrence of significant yaw rates. The maximum error occurred in curve road condition, but the error decreased after lane return. Therefore, the proposed theoretical formula makes it possible to assess the safety of the LKA system.
The railway vehicle is a multi-body system running on the track which consists of carbody, bogie and wheelset, each of components is connected with rigid mass, spring and damper. each of components has translation motions of longitudinal (X axis), lateral(Y axis) and vertical(Z axis) direction, and rotation motions of X, Y, Z axis which are named Rolling, Pitching and Yawing. The vibration mode of railway vehicle is difficult to find the characteristics of motion during the operation on the track because these happen to independence or duplication motion caused by vehicle, wheel/rail and track irregularity etc. This paper presents the result of ramp test to show the bounce, roll, pitch and yaw mode frequency of the railway vehicle.
A simulation program for vehicle dynamic analysis was developed. The Cartesisn coordinate system was used for translational motion and the Euler angle system was used for rotational motion. A three dimensional multi-wheeled vehicle model and equations of motion were derived. Also static equilibrium analysis was added for initial vehicle condition setting. The program user can describe the exact characteristics of suspension spring force and damping force in the user subroutine. A wheel-ground contact model which represents geometrical effect was developed. Two cases of simulation for 16 D.O.F. vehicle model were conducted to validate the developed program by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data.
KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute) is developing a bimodal tram since the 2003s. The vehicle will be used in the public transportation system. The bimodal tram has the advantages of both bus and train. Bus system has the advantages of flexibility of the routes delivering passengers to the destination and easy accessibility. Train is to meet the scheduled arrival and massive public transportations. The vehicle is the rubber tired tram and is all wheel steered single articulation. The propulsion system is configured by CNG hybrid system. The length of the vehicle is 18m. The vehicle lanes will be marked with permanent magnets that are buried in the road. The vehicle can be automatically operated by navigation control system (NCS). In this paper, we introduce the driving system of the bimodal tram which is developed by KRRI.
The topic on today is dynamic response analysis of curved bridge-AGT(Automated Guide-way Transit) vehicle interaction system. Rubber wheel type AGT vehicle is adopted in this study, and the vehicle is idealized as three dimensional eleven DOF model. Three types of composited steel box girder bridges are modelized with F.E. method. And three types of artificially generated surface roughnesses are adopted for analysis. The dynamic equations of curved bridge, AGT vehicle and surface roughness are derived by using Lagrange's equation of motion. And the equations are solved by Newmark-${\beta}$ method. As a result, The dynamic increasement factor is inverse proportional to radius curvature.
This paper designed the railway vehicle running device with a proto-type for the railway vehicle maintenance training and developed a propulsion control device simulator equipped the imitation steering wheel. In addition, this paper applied a multi-thread technology in order to implement the staged fault and the propulsion control device protected operation test and an implementation of the failure that occur in actual rail vehicle and confirm the validity as the propulsion control device simulator for the maintenance training.
This study shows the path generation algorithm for an UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle). The developed UGV frame which has a 4-wheel driven mechanism and diesel source is applied. Proposed vehicle system in this research is aimed to military purpose. To achieve the unmanned autonomous driving, following two main issues are considered. First, behavior module for positioning and posture of vehicle system and second, cognition module to receive the information from environment are proposed and verified. To do this, rover which can acquire the positioning information from earth coordinate and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) which can measure the posture are combined to design the path planning algorithm.
Quantification of road noise is a challenging issue in the development of tire noise since its transfer paths are complicated. In this paper, a simplified model to estimate the road noise is developed. Transfer path of the model is from wheel to interior. The method uses the wheel excitation force estimated throughout inverse method. In inversion procedure, the Tikhonov regularization method is used to reduce the inversion error. To estimate the wheel excitation force, the vibration of knuckle is measured and transfer function between knuckle and wheel center is also measured. The wheel excitation force is estimated by using the measured knuckle vibration and the inversed transfer function. Finally interior noise due to wheel force is estimated by multiplying wheel excitation force in the vibro-acoustic transfer function. This vibro-acoustic transfer function is obtained throughout measurement. The proposed method is validated by using cleat excitation method. Finally, it is applied to the estimation of interior noise of the vehicle with different types of tires during driving test.

In this paper, a method to improve judder by changing the front and rear wheel brake force distribution ratio was proposed. ADAMS, a commercial dynamic analysis software was used to model a small size bus and its modeling procedure was explained. By using the ADAMS vehicle model, the judder phenomena of the small bus were analyzed, and based on analysis results, the validity of the improvement method was proposed. Also in order to lessen the problem jubber sensitivity analysis and test results were proposed.
