SiC 세라믹 하니컴 담체의 탄성 물성치 평가 (Estimation on Elastic Properties of SiC Ceramic Honeycomb Substrate)

  • 가솔린 엔진 차량용 삼원촉매담체는 주로 코제라이트 세라믹으로 제작되는 다공성 부품으로 엔진의 혼합기가 농후한 경우 삼원촉매의 열적 내구성이 급격히 떨어져 설계 내구 수명을 제대로 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 SiC 세라믹 촉매 담체의 내구성 평가에 사용할 기계적 물성치를 유한요소해석으로 구하기 위하여 등가물성평가방법을 이용하여 SiC 세라믹 하니컴 담체의 기계적 물성치를 유한요소해석용 시험편으로 구하였다. MOR과 탄성계수는 코제라이트 세라믹 하니컴 담체에 비하여 SiC 세라믹 하니컴 담체가 최소 2배와 9.3배 정도 크게 평가되고 있어 SiC 세라믹 하니컴 담체는 코제라이트 세라믹 하니컴 담체에 비하여 높은 구조 강도를 가지고 있다.

An Efficient Association Control Method for Vehicular Networks with Mobile Hotspots

  • The increasing demand from passengers in vehicles to improve safety, traffic efficiency, and comfort has lead to the growing interest of Wi-Fi based vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Although the V2I system provides fast and cost-effective Internet connectivity to vehicles via roadside Wi-Fi access points (APs), it suffers from frequent handoffs due to the high mobility of vehicles and the limited coverage of Wi-Fi APs. Recently, the Mobile AP (MAP) platform has emerged as a promising solution that overcomes the problem in the V2I systems. The main advantage is that MAPs may yield longer service duration to the nearby vehicles that have similar mobility patterns, yet they provide smaller link capacities than the roadside APs. In this paper, we present a new association control technique that harnesses available connection duration as well as achievable link bandwidth in high-speed vehicular network environments. We also analyze the tradeoff between two association metrics, namely, available connection duration and achievable link bandwidth. Extensive simulation studies based on real traces demonstrate that our scheme significantly outperforms the previous methods.

축소 점착시험기를 이용한 휠/레일의 점착계수 추정에 관한 연구 (Estimation Study on the Wheel/Rail Adhesion Coefficient of Railway Vehicles Using the Scaled Adhesion Tester)

  • Railway vehicles driven by wheels obtain force required for propulsion and braking by adhesive force between wheels and rails, this adhesive force is determined by multiplying adhesion coefficient of the friction surface by the applied axle load. Because the adhesion coefficient has a peak at certain slip velocity, it is important to determine the maximum values of the friction coefficient on the contact area. But this adhesive phenomenon is not clearly examined or analyzed. Thus we have developed new test procedure using the scaled adhesion test-bench for analyzing of the adhesion coefficient between wheel and rail. This adhesion test equipment is an experimental device that contacts mutually with twin disc which are equivalent to wheels and rails of railway vehicles.

보행자 충돌안전기준 도입에 따른 사망자수 감소 효과 추정 (Estimation of Fatality Reduction by Introducing Technical Regulation on Pedestrian Protection)

  • 본 연구에서는 보행자와 차량의 충돌 시 보행자의 상해를 감소시키기 위한 충돌안전기준의 도입에 따른 보행자 사망자수 감소 효과를 추정하는 방법론을 개발하였다. 국내 교통환경 특성을 반영한 보행자 사망확률모형을 개발하고, 사망자 감소 효과 추정에 반영하였다. 사고재현을 통해 추정된 충돌속도를 보행자 사망확률모형의 주요 변수로 사용하였다. 모형의 개발을 위해서는 logistic regression 기법을 적용하였으며, 충돌안전기준의 주요 변수인 HIC(Head Injury Criterion)와 충돌속도의 변화에 따른 사망자수 감소효과를 계량화하여 제시하였다. 제안된 방법론은 향후 국내 실정에 부합되는 충돌안전기준의 개발, 보행자 보호를 위한 첨단 차량의 개발, 보행자 안전을 위한 정책 수립 등을 지원하는 중요한 역할을 수행할 것으로 기대된다.

A novel sensitivity method to structural damage estimation in bridges with moving mass

  • In this research a theoretical and numerical study on a bridge damage detection procedure is presented based on vibration measurements collected from a set of accelerometers. This method, referred to as "Adjoint Variable Method", is a sensitivity-based finite element model updating method. The approach relies on minimizing a penalty function, which usually consists of the errors between the measured quantities and the corresponding predictions attained from the model. Moving mass is an interactive model and includes inertia effects between the model and mass. This interactive model is a time varying system and the proposed method is capable of detecting damage in this variable system. Robustness of the proposed method is illustrated by correct detection of the location and extension of predetermined single, multiple and random damages in all ranges of speed and mass ratio of moving vehicle. A comparative study on common sensitivity and the proposed method confirms its efficiency and performance improvement in sensitivity-based damage detection methods. In addition various possible sources of error, including the effects of measurement noise and initial assumption error in stability of method are also discussed.

Estimation of Hydrodynamic Derivatives of Full-Scale Submarine using RANS Solver

  • It is necessary to predict hydrodynamic derivatives when assessing the maneuverability of a submarine. The force and moment acting on the vehicle may affect its motion in various modes. Conventionally, the derivatives are determined by performing captive model tests in a towing tank or applying a system identification method to the free running model test. However, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method has also become a possible tool to predict the hydrodynamics. In this study, virtual captive model tests for a full-scale submarine were conducted by utilizing a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solver in ANSYS FLUENT version 18.2. The simulations were carried out at design speed for various modes of motion such as straight forward, drift, angle of attack, deflection of the rudder, circular, and combined motion. The hydrodynamic force and moment acting on the submarine appended rudders and stern stabilizers were then obtained. Finally, hydrodynamic derivatives were determined, and these could be used for evaluating the maneuvering characteristics of the submarine in a further study.

  • The EWB(electronic wedge brake) is one in which the braking force is developed in a wedge and caliper system and applied to a disk and wedge mechanism. The advantage of the wedge structure is that it produces self-reinforcing effect and hence, utilizes minimal motor power, resulting in reduced gear and current. The extent of use of clamping force sensors and protection from failure of the EWB system directly depends on the level of vehicle mass production. This study investigated the mathematical equations, simulation modeling, and failsafe control algorithm for the clamping force sensor of the EWB and validated the simulations. As this EWB system modeling can be applied to motor inductance, resistance, screw inertia, stiffness, and wedge mass and angle, this study could improve the accuracy of simulation of the EWB. The simulation results demonstrated the braking force, motor speed, and current of the EWB system when the driver desired to the step and pulse the brake force inputs. Moreover, this paper demonstrated that the proposed failsafe control algorithm accurately detects faults in the clamping force sensor, if any.

A 2×2 MIMO Spatial Multiplexing 5G Signal Reception in a 500 km/h High-Speed Vehicle using an Augmented Channel Matrix Generated by a Delay and Doppler Profiler

  • This paper proposes a method to extend Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) canceling Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) receivers for 5G mobile systems to spatial multiplexing 2×2 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems to support high-speed ground transportation services by linear motor cars traveling at 500 km/h. In Japan, linear-motor high-speed ground transportation service is scheduled to begin in 2027. To expand the coverage area of base stations, 5G mobile systems in high-speed moving trains will have multiple base station antennas transmitting the same downlink (DL) signal, forming an expanded cell size along the train rails. 5G terminals in a fast-moving train can cause the forward and backward antenna signals to be Doppler-shifted in opposite directions, so the receiver in the train may have trouble estimating the exact channel transfer function (CTF) for demodulation. A receiver in such high-speed train sees the transmission channel which is composed of multiple Doppler-shifted propagation paths. Then, a loss of sub-carrier orthogonality due to Doppler-spread channels causes ICI. The ICI Canceller is realized by the following three steps. First, using the Demodulation Reference Symbol (DMRS) pilot signals, it analyzes three parameters such as attenuation, relative delay, and Doppler-shift of each multi-path component. Secondly, based on the sets of three parameters, Channel Transfer Function (CTF) of sender sub-carrier number n to receiver sub-carrier number l is generated. In case of n≠l, the CTF corresponds to ICI factor. Thirdly, since ICI factor is obtained, by applying ICI reverse operation by Multi-Tap Equalizer, ICI canceling can be realized. ICI canceling performance has been simulated assuming severe channel condition such as 500 km/h, 8 path reverse Doppler Shift for QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM and 256QAM modulations. In particular, 2×2MIMO QPSK and 16QAM modulation schemes, BER (Bit Error Rate) improvement was observed when the number of taps in the multi-tap equalizer was set to 31 or more taps, at a moving speed of 500 km/h and in an 8-pass reverse doppler shift environment.

활동자료 구축을 통한 주행거리 기반의 온실가스 배출량산정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Estimation based on Mileage Through Accumulation of Activity Databases)

  • 도로부문의 온실가스배출량 산정시 활용되는 tier3방법론은 주행거리데이터를 기반으로 한다. 하지만 기존 대부분의 자료들은 단독으로 지역단위의 주행거리를 대변할 수 없고 지역별, 차종별, 연료별, 도로유형별 특성을 반영한 통합활동자료(주행거리데이터)가 미흡하여 온실가스배출량 산정의 신뢰도가 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 첫째, 지자체단위(배출지점)의 정확한 온실가스배출량을 산정할 수 있는 주행거리기반의 활동자료(통합데이터베이스) 구축과 이를 활용한 온실가스배출량 산정방법론을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 교통안전공단의 주행거리자료, 국토해양부의 차량등록통계, 도로교통량, 한국교통연구원의 국가교통데이터베이스, 지방자치단체 평균속도 등을 활용하였으며, 이는 교통관련 데이터의 통행패턴(유 출입교통량, 내부교통량)을 반영하여 지자체단위(배출지점)의 산정방법을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 제시한 방법론 검증을 위해 적용대상지를 서울시로 하였으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 모형의 검증을 위하여 기존에 발표된 세 가지 온실가스배출량 산정결과와 비교하여 적정수준임을 제시하였다.

외란토크 추정 및 보상을 이용한 관성안정화 플랫폼의 제어 (Control of Inertially Stabilized Platform Using Disturbance Torque Estimation and Compensation)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 관성안정화 플랫폼에서 보편적으로 사용됐던 PID 제어에 외란관측기를 적용하는 알고리즘 제안한다. 외란관측기 알고리즘을 적용하기 위하여 직접구동 모터로 구동되는 안정화 플랫폼 축의 관성모멘트와 축 마찰 특성을 실험적으로 구하고, 시뮬레이션과 실험결과를 비교하여 정확도를 검증하였다. 또한 차수와 상대차수가 다른 여러 가지 Q-filter 적용실험을 통하여 필터 특성에 따른 시스템의 안정성을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘은 6 자유도 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 차량 모션 인가실험을 통해 이중 PID 제어 루프의 결과와 비교/검증하였다.
