동영상을 이용한 주행차량속도 산정 (Estimation of Vehicle Traveling Speed Using Moving Image)

  • of the road would be a key index judged for a safety at the vehicle driving on the road. In Korea, as seen through a lot of documents, the vehicle driving speed is much faster compared with the design speed. The vehicle driving speed is an important element to get to know the vehicle driving characteristics. However, it is not easy to obtain the vehicle driving speed relating to vehicles' consecutive movements just merely through the presently used methods of vehicle driving speed. In consequence, this study has conducted photographing vehicle movements by use of digital moving images. Based on digital moving Images pictured, we have obtained a certain time interval frame and extracted out vehicles' coordinates and calculated vehicle speed from the firstly rectified image and the secondly rectified image. We could obtain comparatively exact results in the calculation of vehicle driving speed as errors of about 4%, as a result of comparison and verification of vehicle speed calculated from the digital moving images and the speed obtained from DGPS.

BWIM방법을 이용한 차량 정보 추정시 정밀도 향상 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Accuracy Improvement for Estimation of Vehicle Information Using BWIM Methodology)

  • Dynamic strain history curve measured in the field is influenced by various factors such as vehicle type, speed, noise, temperature and running location etc.. Because such curve is used for vehicle weight estimation methodology suggested by Moses, exact strain history curve is the most important thing for exact estimation of vehicle weight. In this paper, effect of such factors mentioned above is investigated on the measured strain history curves, and results of weight estimation of vehicles are discussed quantitatively. From this study, it was known that temperature effect contained in the strain history curve measured for long time in-site gives the biggest effect on result of weight estimation and it can be removed by using the mode value. Furthermore, gross vehicle weight can be estimated within 5% error corresponding to A class of the European classification if effects of temperature and noise are removed and vehicle properties such as speed, axle arrangement and running location are considered properly.

  • 본 논문에서는 교통관제용 CCTV로부터 촬영된 영상에서 교통 상황 분석을 위해 차량의 통행량 및 통행 속도를 획득하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 촬영된 영상에 역 투영 사상(IPM, Inverse Perspective Mapping) 방법을 이용하여 카메라 각도에 따른 시각적 관점에서 기인한 왜곡을 제거하고, 차선 검출 알고리즘을 통해 1) 차량 통행량, 2) 차량 통행 속도를 측정할 소정 영역을 획득한다. 소정 영역에 대하여 광류(Optical flow) 기반 모션 추정을 이용하여 차량 통행량 및 통행 속도를 획득한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법을 지역별 다양한 CCTV 영상인 총 106,993 프레임, 약 세 시간 길이의 영상에 적용하여 88.94%의 검출 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

초고속 비행체의 발사원점 추정을 위한 다중 IMM 필터 실험 (Experiment on Multi-Dimensioned IMM Filter for Estimating the Launch Point of a High-Speed Vehicle)

  • In order to estimate the launch point of a high-speed vehicle, predicting the various characteristics of the vehicle's movement, such as drag and thrust, must be preceded by the estimation. To predict the various parameters regarding the vehicle's characteristics, we build the IMM filter specialized in predicting the parameters of the post-launch phase based on flight dynamics. Then we estimate the launch point of the high-speed vehicle using Inverse Dynamics. In addition, we assume the arbitrary error level of the radar for accuracy of the prediction. We organize multiple-dimensioned IMM structures, and figure out the optimal value of parameters by comparing the various IMM structures. After deriving the optimal value of parameters, we verify the launch point estimation error under certain error level.

  • 차량동역학제어시스템은 복잡하고 비선형이므로 잠금방지 제동시스템 및 자동주행시스템 개발에 어려움이 있다. 차량절대속도를 추정하기 위해 퍼지 로직 기법이 최근 적용되어 정상적인 조건에서 만족할 만한 결과를 얻고 있다. 그러나 급격한 제동시 추정오차가 크게 발생되었다. 본 논문에서는 휠 속도 센서를 이용하여 무인 컨테이너 운송차량의 절대속도를 추정하기 위해, 뉴럴 네트워크 모델의 방사대칭 기저함수와 주성분 분석법을 적용하여 10개의 추정 알고리즘중 오차를 4% 이내로 추정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시하였다.

운전 중 실내 소음의 유형 및 강도에 따른 주관적 속도감에 관한 연구 (A Driving Study on Driver's Subjective Speed Estimation as a Function of the Vehicle Noise Types and Intensity)

  • 본 연구는 운전 중 발생하는 청각 자극의 유형 및 정도가 운전자가 지각하는 주관적 속도감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 본 연구에서 사용된 청각 자극은 엔진 소음과 음악 소리였으며 전자는 자동차의 속도에 따라 함께 변하는 청각 단서인 반면 후자는 자동차의 속도와는 무관하게 변화하는 비단서 소음으로 사용되었다. 엔진 소음의 강도만 조작되어 제시된 실험 1에서는 엔진 소음의 크기에 따라 운전자가 느끼는 주관적 속도감이 다르게 나타나 운전자들은 엔진 소음이 작을수록 기준속도보다 더 빨리 주행한 반면 엔진 소음이 클수록 더 천천히 주행하는 것이 관찰되었다. 실험 2에서는 엔진 소음과 음악 소리를 모두 들려주었는데, 그 결과 엔진 소음의 크기변화에 따른 주관적 속도감의 차이는 여전히 나타났으나 음악 소리의 크기변화에 따른 속도감의 차이는 보이지 않았다. 또한 실험 1과 2를 통합하여 음악 소리의 유무효과를 분석해 본 결과 음악 소리가 엔진 소음을 차폐시킬 만큼 크고 엔진 소음이 작을 경우에는 음악 소리가 없는 경우보다 속도를 더 내는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 음악 소리가 속도감에 영향을 주는 직접요인은 아니지만 간접적으로 영향을 미친다는 가능성을 시사한다.

퍼지로직을 이용한 차량절대속도 추정 (Absolute Vehicle Speed Estimation using Fuzzy Logic)

  • The absolute longitudinal speed of a vehicle is estimated by using vehicle acceleration data from an accelerometer and wheel speed data from standard 50-tooth antiknock braking system wheel speed sensors. An intuitive solution to this problem is, "When wheel slip is low, calculate absolute velocities from the wheel speeds; when wheel slip is high, calculate absolute velocity by integrating the accelerometer." Fuzzy logic is introduced to implement the above idea and a new algorithm of "modified velocities with step integration" is proposed. This algorithm is verified experimentally to estimate speed of a vehicle, and is also shown to estimate absolute longitudinal vehicle speed with a 6% worst-case error during a hard braking maneuver lasting three seconds.

미시적 도로주행 조건을 반영한 배출량 산정 방법의 적용 사례 연구 (Application of an Emission Estimation Methodology to Reflect Microscale Road Driving Conditions)

  • PURPOSES : This study proposes a methodology to collect data necessary for microlevel emission estimation, such as second-by-second speeds and road grades, and to accordingly estimate emissions. METHODS : To ease data collection for microlevel emission estimation, a vehicle equipped with speed- and location-recording instruments as well as equipment for measuring road geometry was used. As a case study, this vehicle and the proposed methodology were used on a 10-km-long highway in Yongin City, Korea. Emissions from the vehicle during driving were estimated in various microscale driving conditions. RESULTS : Differences in the estimated emission under different microscale driving conditions cannot be ignored. Compared with the estimations obtained when second-by-second data were not considered, CO and NOx emissions were more than threefold higher when considering second-by-second speed; similarly, CO and NOx emission estimations were higher by approximately 10% and 3%, respectively, when considering second-by-second road grade. CONCLUSIONS : The proposed method can estimate vehicle emissions under real-world driving conditions in such applications as road design and traffic policy assessments.

브레이크 게인 적응기법을 이용한 종방향 타이어 힘의 실시간 추정 (Tractive Force Estimation in Real-time Using Brake Gain Adaptation)

  • This paper includes real-time tractive force estimation method using standard vehicle sensors such as wheel speed, brake pressure, throttle position, engine speed, and transmission carrier speed sensor. Engine map, torque converter lookup table, shaft torque observer, and brake gain adaptation method are used to estimate the tractive force. To verify this estimator, measurement which uses strain-based brake torque sensor and estimation results are presented. All results was performed using a real vehicle in a real-time.

자동화 수동변속기용 건식클러치의 속도기반 Kiss-Point 능동 보상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Speed-based Active Compensation of the Kiss-Point of Dry-type Clutch Equipped with Automated Manual Transmission)

  • Clutch torque control is the key to the ride comfort improvement of a vehicle equipped with AMT (automated manual transmission). For such control, the torque transfer starting point, known as the "kiss point," should be indicated or at least estimated to compensate for the clutch torque. The kiss point changes due to wear, high temperature, and fatigue; as such, it should be estimated while the vehicle is being driven. In this study, the method of kiss point active estimation for an AMT vehicle with a dry-type clutch was devised. The kiss point is learned while the engine is in an idle state and while the transmission is at a neutral gear position. It is determined when the input shaft of the transmission starts to rotate by slowly engaging the clutch. The noise of the shaft speed signal during the slow engagement process is filtered for accurate control. The kiss point estimation at various clutch engagement speeds was analyzed via a vehicle test.
