STS304L 박판 원형 겹치기 GTA 용접부의 용접 변형 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Welding Distortion of GTA Circular Type Lap Joint in STS304L Thin Plate)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the welding distortion of the circular type lap joint in STS304L of 0.7mm thickness by using FEA. In order to do it, a heat input model for GTA welding process with non-consumable electrode was established through comparing the molten pool shapes and temperature distributions obtained by both FEA and experiment. With the heat input model, the welding distortion of the circular type lap joint was evaluated by 3-D FEA. From FEA results, it was found that 3-D FEA with proper heat input model can be used for the evaluation of the excessive distortion of the circular type lap joint of STS304L thin plate. In addition, the root cause of the excessive distortion in the weld was also identified as the excessive compressive residual stress in the tangential direction of the weld.

  • The reinforced concrete slab is one of main structure members in the construction industry sector. However, most of researches regarding to RC slabs have been focused on two-dimensional Mindlin-type plate element on the basis of laminated plate theory since three-dimensional solid element has a lot of difficulties in finite element formulation and costs in CPU time. In reality, the RC slabs are subjected to dynamic loads like a heavy traffic vehicle load, and thus should insure the safety from the static load as well as dynamic load. Once we can estimate the dynamic behaviour of RC slabs exactly, it will be very helpful for design of it. In this study, the 20-node solid element has been used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of RC slabs with clamped edges. The elasto-visco plastic model for material non-linearity and the smeared crack model have been adopted in the finite element formulation. The applicability of the proposed finite element has been tested for dynamic behaviour of RC slabs with respect to characteristics of concrete materials in terms of cracking stress, crushing strain, fracture energy and Poisson's ratio. The effect on dynamic behaviour is dependent on not crushing strain but cracking stress, fracture energy and Poisson's ratio. In addition to this, it is shown the damping phenomenon of RC slabs has been identified from the numerical results by using Rayleigh damping.

열림방향을 이용한 자동차번호판 숫자인식 (Digit Recognition for Vehicle License Plate Based on Opened Enclosure)

  • 본 논문에서는 열림부분에 기반을 둔 자동차 번호판의 숫자인식 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 인식기법에서 숫자를 상부와 하부로 나누고, 각각에 대해 열림부분을 판정하여 숫자를 인식한다. 제안된 기법에서, 상부와 하부의 분할은 정해진 절단선을 바탕으로 하며, 교점의 개수에 따라 절단선의 위치가 조절된다. 제안된 방법은 템플릿 매칭 방법에 비해 잡음이나 회전 등의 영향을 받지 않으며 강건하다. 모의실험에서 제안된 기법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 번호판에 사용되는 숫자들에 대해 처리를 하고, 그 결과를 제시하였다. 제안된 기법은 번호판의 숫자인식에서 매우 높은 인식률을 보인다.

Pin and Bone Cement Fixation of Fifth-Sixth Lumbar Vertebral Fracture-Luxation in a Korean Goral (Nemorhaedus caudatus)

  • A Korean goral (immature, female) was presented with paraplegia following motor vehicle trauma. The patient was diagnosed with an L5-6 vertebral fracture-luxation based on digital radiographs. Surgical reduction and stabilization of the fracture-luxation were performed via a dorsal approach to the lumbar spine. It was confirmed in surgery that the patient had L5-7 spinous process fractures, L6 bilateral articular process fractures, and an L5-6 luxation. Free fragments were removed and the luxation was reduced. During reduction, caudodorsal dislocation of the L5 caudal vertebral end plate was discovered and the displaced end plate was removed. The L5-6 vertebral luxation was stabilized using pins and bone cement. However, the presence of an intact spinal cord was not confirmed. Two weeks postoperatively the patient became dyspneic and arrested. A necropsy was performed, which revealed that the surgical stabilization was intact. Pulmonary edema was identified and the immediate cause of death was determined to be systemic inflammatory response syndrome.

A low computational cost method for vibration analysis of rectangular plates subjected to moving sprung masses

  • A low computational cost semi-analytical method is developed, based on eigenfunction expansion, to study the vibration of rectangular plates subjected to a series of moving sprung masses, representing a bridge deck under multiple vehicle or train moving loads. The dynamic effects of the suspension system are taken into account by using flexible connections between the moving masses and the base structure. The accuracy of the proposed method in predicting the dynamic response of a rectangular plate subjected to a series of moving sprung masses is demonstrated compared to the conventional rigid moving mass models. It is shown that the proposed method can considerably improve the computational efficiency of the conventional methods by eliminating a large number of time-varying components in the coupled Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) matrices. The dynamic behaviour of the system is then investigated by performing a comprehensive parametric study on the Dynamic Amplification Factor (DAF) of the moving loads using different design parameters. The results indicate that ignoring the flexibility of the suspension system in both moving force and moving mass models may lead to substantially underestimated DAF predictions and therefore unsafe design solutions. This highlights the significance of taking into account the stiffness of the suspension system for accurate estimation of the plate maximum dynamic response in practical applications.

A Vehicular License Plate Recognition Framework For Skewed Images

  • Vehicular license plate (LP) recognition system has risen as a significant field of research recently because various explorations are currently being conducted by the researchers to cope with the challenges of LPs which include different illumination and angular situations. This research focused on restricted conditions such as using image of only one vehicle, stationary background, no angular adjustment of the skewed images. A real time vehicular LP recognition scheme is proposed for the skewed images for detection, segmentation and recognition of LP. In this research, a polar co-ordinate transformation procedure is implemented to adjust the skewed vehicular images. Besides that, window scanning procedure is utilized for the candidate localization that is based on the texture characteristics of the image. Then, connected component analysis (CCA) is implemented to the binary image for character segmentation where the pixels get connected in an eight-point neighbourhood process. Finally, optical character recognition is implemented for the recognition of the characters. For measuring the performance of this experiment, 300 skewed images of different illumination conditions with various tilt angles have been tested. The results show that proposed method able to achieve accuracy of 96.3% in localizing, 95.4% in segmenting and 94.2% in recognizing the LPs with an average localization time of 0.52s.

  • The automobile industry is a wide range of related industries, including parts manufacturing and vehicle assembly, press processing is an essential element in making automobiles. Press processing is a processing method for metal sheets that has relatively high dimensional and shape precision and is suitable for mass production. It refers to processing by attaching a special tool, a mold, to a press machine. Recently, the automobile industry is attempting to reduce the weight of automobiles in order to reduce carbon emissions due to global warming, and the use of high-strength steel sheets, which are lighter than general structural steel sheets, is a natural trend. Shear processing is required to use high-strength steel, and the shape of the shear surface created by shear processing has a significant impact on the quality of the automobile. Therefore, various methods are being attempted to improve the share surface during shear processing. Among them, shaving processing is a method of shearing the primary shearing area again, and it is difficult to obtain an accurate answer because complex deformation occurs in the microscopic shear area. Therefore, in this study, the effect of machining allowance on shaving processing was analyzed using the finite element method using high-strength steel plate (SPFH590), and the differences were compared and examined through actual experiments under the same conditions.

타공판의 등가 흡음 물성치 유도와 공명기로서의 흡음성능 해석 (Numerical Analysis and Verification of Sound Absorbing Properties of Perforated Plate)

  • 현재 방음을 위해 사용되는 흡음구조는 흡음률이 높은 재료를 이용하여 만들어진 판을 방음이 필요한 벽에 붙이거나 삽입하는 형상이다. 이러한 형상은 흡음재의 재료가 고정되기 때문에, 사용하는 환경에 따라 효율성이 변화한다는 한계점이 있다. 하지만, 흡음재 없이 흡음효과가 나타나도록 외벽의 구조를 설계한다면, 흡음재의 재료에 대한 제한이 없어져 가용 범위가 상당히 넓어지게 된다. 따라서 우리는 이러한 효율적인 외벽의 구조로서 타공판의 구조를 제안한다. 타공판이 어떻게 흡음률을 가지는 지에 대해 등가물성치를 이용한 수치해석을 통하여 검증하였다. 또한 타공판의 형상과 공명기의 형상이 유사함을 밝혀내었고, 이를 토대로 타공판이 갖는 흡음구조에 대해 분석하였다. 결과적으로 타공판은 별도의 흡음재가 없더라도 효율적인 흡음효과를 낸다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 사용자가 타공판의 형상을 쉽게 변화시킴으로서, 특정한 주파수의 소음을 차단할 수 있어 상당히 효율적인 흡음구조임을 확인하였다. 본 연규의 결과들은 향후 자동차, 고속철도, 주택 외벽 등에 사용되는 흡음구조로서 사용될 수 있을 것이며, 나아가 흡음구조를 설계하는데 기본적인 도구가 될 수 있을 것이다.

주변 환경 변화에 적응하는 윤곽선 추출 기반의 자동차 번호판 검출 기법 (A license plate detection method based on contour extraction that adapts to environmental changes)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량 주변 환경의 변화에서도 번호판 영역을 검출하는 연구를 하였다. 그래서 주변 환경 변화에 적응하는 윤곽선 추출 기반의 자동차 번호판 검출 방법을 제안하였다 제안하는 방법은 윤곽선 추출 과정에서 불필요한 잡음 부분을 제거하기 위해 DoG(Difference of Gaussian)을 이용하여 윤곽선을 추출 하였다. 추출한 윤곽선 영상를 이진화하여 Mophology operation을 사용하여 문자부분 윤곽선을 강조시켰다. 그리고 문자의 종횡비를 판별하여 번호판의 문자와 유사한 비율의 윤곽선을 추출하였다. 그리고 윤곽이 가장 길게 이어진 경우를 차량 번호판으로 추정하여 검출 하였다. 본 연구에서는 차량 정면 뿐 아니라 기울어져 있는 차량의 번호판, 차량 주변 환경의 변화를 가지는 차량 번호판 등 다양한 130개의 차량 영상 데이터를 사용하였다. 그리고 번호판의 패턴이 다른 오토바이 영상에서도 실험 하였다. 실험 결과 기울어져 있는 영상은 93%, 다양한 배경 환경에서는 90% 오토바이영상에서는 70%의 검출률을 나타냈으나 정면의 영상에서 98%의 검출률을 나타내었다.

SECFR 시스템의 차량적용을 위한 분무균일도향상에 관한 연구 (A Study for Improving Spray Uniformity of the SECFR System for Vehicle Applications)

  • Lower recirculated gas temperature at EGR system reduces NOx and PM emissions. However, EGR Cooler can be polluted by PM generated from recirculated EGR gas, and it reduces cooling efficiency and the amount of EGR gas simultaneously. The SECFR(Steam EGR Cooler Fouling Remover) system which uses the evaporated washer fluid steam caused by high temperature of EGR gas was manufactured for removing fouling generated on the cooler surface. Since an injection pressure of wind shield washer fluid in the vehicle is approximately 0.5 bar, it is not enough to atomize the injected washer fluid. Thus, it is necessary to apply a method to atomize the washer fluid. In this study, the impinging plate was used to promote the atomization of spray washer fluid for the purpose of apply SECFR system to vehicles and measured the DAR(Droplet Area Ratio) and DUI(Droplet Uniformity Index) through the spray visualization.
