  • In this paper, fuel cell power generation system that is being studied in recent railway field was applied to compensate for the voltage drop due to the load as driving electric vehicle. PSIM simulation program is to be used to implement the modeling of the electric railway for AC AT feeder system. For it, It was applied to the product-type single-phase PLL algorithm, step-down converter is controlled as power so as to have the fuelcell generation system. Based on it's result, a reactive power due to the catenary impedance in accordance with the current flowing is compensated as linked with fuelcell generation system which supplied the current to the power supply grid. and then its performance was confirmed that voltage compensation effect obtained at SubStation (SS), SubSectioning Post (SSP), Sectioning Post (SP).

  • In this paper, observability properties of a multiantenna GPS measurement system for the estimation of errors in INS are presented. It is shown that time-invariant INS error models are observable with measurements from at least three GPS antennas on the vehicle. There is at least one unobservable mode with two antennas. There are three unobservable modes with one antenna. It is also shown that time-varying INS error models are instantaneously observable with measurements from three GPS antennas. A numerical simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the multiantenna measurement system on the INS error estimation. In the simulation, a GPS measurement system is considered in which a trade-off between computational load and accuracy of estimation is achieved.

  • Electric brake booster systems replace conventional pneumatic brake boosters with electric motors and rotary-todisplacement mechanisms including ECU (Electronic Control Unit). Electric booster brake systems require precise target pressure tracking and control robustness because vehicle brake systems operate properly given the large range of loading and temperature, actuator saturation, load-dependent friction. Also for the implement of imbedded control system, the controller should be selected considering the limited memory size and the cycle time problem of real brake ECU. In this study, based on these requirements, a sliding mode controller has been chosen and applied considering both model uncertainty and external disturbance. A mathematical model for the electric booster is derived and simulated. The developed sliding mode controller considering chattering problem has been compared with a conventional cascade PID controller. The effectiveness of the controller is demonstrated in some braking cases.

  • This paper suggests the methodology for the ergonomic assessment of the navigation system driver that corresponds to the subjective measurement of the driver's mental workload by rating his or her own driving task. For this approach, Revision of NASA-Task Load Index (RNASA-TLX) was developed which translated and revised the version of NASA-TLX that is generally accepted an efficient and powerful method for evaluating the in-vehicle information system. To venify RNASA- TLS, an experiment was conducted in a real road situation, because the result of the laboratory approach is uncertain and has the differences from the real road test.

  • A bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is a hollow cylinder, which is bonded to a solid steel shaft at its inner surface and a steel sleeve at its outer surface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft and the relative deformation of a bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. A force-displacement relation for bushings is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations. For the nonlinear viscoelastic axial response, Pipkin-Rogers model, the direct relation of force and displacement, has been derived from Lianis model and the sinusoidal input was used for Pipkin-Rogers model, and the affection of displacement with frequency change was studied with Pipkin-Rogers model.

  • Hydropneumatic suspension unit is an important part of tracked vehicles to absorb external impact load exerted from the non-paved road and the cannon discharge. Its absorption performance is strongly influenced by both damping and spring forces of the unit. In this paper, we numerically analyze the damping characteristics of the in-arm-type hydropneumatic suspension unit (ISU) by considering four distinct dynamic modes of the ISU damper: jounce-loading, jounce-unloading, rebound-loading and rebound-unloading. The flow rate coefficients determining the oil flow rate through the damper orifice are decided with the help of independent experiments. The wheel reaction force, the flow rate at cracking and the damping energy are parametrically investigated with respect to the orifice diameter and the wheel motion frequency.

  • The shock absorber is a part having a direct influence on the ride comfort, stability and dynamic load prediction of a vehicle. Thus, a rationally modeled shock absorber should be required in the dynamic analysis of vehicles. This thesis presents a modified model, based on Worden's hyperbolic tangent function, in order to fit experimental data on the velocity-damping force of a shock absorber. The hyperbolic tangent function correctly indicates the characteristics of a shock absorber. and has the advantage of containing physical causality. To evaluate the method, comparative evaluations of the linear model. the 5th polynomial model and Worden's model were carried out. The function presented in this paper is not only simple but also makes it possible to estimate the function coefficients easily and visually. In addition, it has the advantage of containing physical causality. Lastly, it effectively models the damping force of a shock absorber.

  • This paper discuss basic functional construction and plant layout of a ELV dismantling system that can maximize the reusability of tarts and the recoverability of materials by dismantling ELV rationally and efficiently. "Island" type was selected for the system configuration considering processing amount, economical efficiency, and effectiveness. The system is supported by the information system, and composed of dismantling stations and handling equipments. The layout of the stations was determined after simulation and optimization using commercial software package, Arena and OptQuest. The objective of the optimization was maximum profit while the system capacity is considered as constraint. The environmental load of ELV can be minimized when the composition and function of each station are embodied in detail and the system is interfaced with shredding operation.

  • There are various noises generated by friction. Among the rest, eliminating squeal noise generated during braking is an important task for the improvement of vehicle passengers' comfort. The parameters affecting brake squeal noise are the material properties of the braking pad, the dynamic properties of the brake parts and the dimensions of the brake assemble etc. Also, the squeal noise changes its inherent form(i.e. its sound pressure level and its frequency) with the normal load and sliding speed. In this study, the characteristics of brake squeal noise generated by friction is analyzed experimentally. The experiment focused on the analysis of friction self-excited vibrationand squeal noise level. Friction self-excited vibration is caused by the dry friction between pads and rotor, and occurs as a function of their relative sliding speeds. And Friction self-excited vibration is raised the brake squeal noise.

  • A research for application of LDSMC(Low Density Sheet Molding Compound) composite is in progress for lightening the weight. This paper has performed fatigue test and simulation of external panel for Korean commercial vehicle. Before the fatigue test, static test was carried out. From the test, the structural safety was investigated using Goodman diagram. After the static test performance, the fatigue test was conducted at a range of load frequency 5Hz, a stress ratio(R) of 0.05 and an endurance limit of $10^6$ to obtain the S-N curve. The S-N curve is applied to the fatigue analysis of the external panel assembly. The result of FEM analysis was in accord with the experimental result within 83% confidence. It showed that the process to set up the safety range of allowable error is required in process of the design and simulation verification.
