In this paper, the preliminary EMC analysis process between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and the Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) launch vehicles in the frequency range is described. The considered launch vehicles are Arian Ⅴ, Sea Launch, Land Launch, Atlas III&Ⅴ, Delta IV, Proton M/breeze M, Soyuz, H II-Aa. The launch vehicle Radiated Susceptibility (RS) specifications have been compared to COMS satellite Radiated Emission (RE) limits. The COMS Radiated Emission (RE) level is determined by calculating the radiated field equal to the quadratic sum of radiated emissions of each equipment switched "ON" during launch. As a result, The RS requirements of Arian V, Atlas III&V and Delta IV lauchers are compliant with COMS RE limits. The negative margins appear between the others launch vehicle RS (Sea Launch, Land Launch, Proton M/Breeze M, Soyuz and H II-A) and COMS RE. Then, if the launchers that have negative margin were chosen by the customer, The EMC tests should be performed at satellite level in order to demonstrate the compatibility with respect to launch vehicles requirements.
This is a study on the distribution of acoustic emission parameters during a burst test for a type-II CNG vehicle fuel tank. A resonant AE sensor with a central frequency of 150 kHz was attached to the composite materials in the center of the fuel tank. The pressure was increased from 30 to 100% of the expected burst pressure and was maintained for 10 minutes at each level. Damage at 70% of expected burst pressure occurred by various damage mechanisms including fiber breakage and delamination, while that of below 60% only occurred by matrix crack initiation and growth. The count, duration and rise time of the AE signal at 60% of the expected burst pressure are distributed below 500, 5000 ${\mu}s$ and 300 ${\mu}s$, respectively. Then, at above 70% they increased with pressure by superimposing of individual AE signal generated at a nearby place. These results confirmed that the analysis of the distribution of AE parameters is an effective tool for estimating damage of a CNG fuel tank.

This study is performed on the acoustic emission parameters involved in a burst test for a CNG-vehicle fuel tank. A resonant AE sensor with a central frequency of 150 kHz was attached on the composite materials in the center of the fuel tank. The analysis of AE parameters such as hit, amplitude, count, duration, risetime, and signal strength during load holding was performed. The total count and total signal strength are effective tools for the damage evaluation of a CNG fuel tank.

In Korea, Medium-duty trucks are classified into GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) 3.5~10tons. MDTs are mostly used for logistics or delivery between regions. There have been studied on diesel fuel vehicles for SUVs(Sports Utility Vehicle) or light-duty trucks. But MDTs have been not studied. Therefore, this study have been used MDTs for characteristic exhaust emission. Test was carried out using the certification test mode (NEDC, New European Driving cycle) and the NIER mode in chassis dynamometer of the MDTs. And emission gas was analyzed for PN (Particulate Number), PN size distribution and aldehydes, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). This paper concluded that EURO-IV trucks produced more MSATs than EURO V trucks. Depending on the engine temperature, more MSATs were generated in cold temperature than in the hot start operation. However, the driving speed, the opposite results was obtained.
Evaporative emissions from gasoline powered vehicles continue to be a major concern. The performance of carbon canister in evaporative emission control systems has become an important aspect of overall fuel system development and design. A vehicle's evaporative emission control system is continuously working, even when the vehicle is not running, due to generation of vapors from the fuel tank during ambient temperature variations. In this study, the effects of evaporative emissions on the engine performance were investigated. The experimental results show the effectiveness of this system for future exhaust emissions and enhanced evaporative emissions. This paper discusses the evaluation on the relationship between carbon canister condition and engine performance while engine is running.
Fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) using hydrogen gas are zero emission vehicles, thus emission measurement for combustion vehicles is not applicable. The hydrogen gas consumption for fuel economy will be measured by the stabilized pressure/temperature method, mass flow method and electrical current method, etc. In this research, weight method with a newly manufactured test equipment is applied to measure the hydrogen consumption because above 3-methods have a deviation. The hydrogen consumption is directly calculated by the weight differences of the external hydrogen tank before and after the chassis dynamometer test. Ultimately the fuel economy for FCEVs is obtained with a deviation less than 1% in all chassis dynamometer tests.
In this paper, the preliminary EMC analysis process between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) launch vehicles in the frequency range [1MHz-47MHz] is described. The considered launch vehicle is the Arian V. The launch vehicle Radiated Emission (RE) specifications have been compared to COMS satellite Radiated Susceptibility (RS) limits. The COMS RS limits are the RS qualification levels of COMS units during launch. As a result, The radiated emission levels of the Arian V is compliant with COMS RS limits.

There were overwhelming high-frequency electromagnetic noises in 200kW-class hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) although EMC control strategy had been applied to cope with the electromagnetic noises during the development of HEV. This paper investigates the characteristics of the conducted and radiated emission noises, the source and path of noises, and the effects of EMI on the electronics. Finally the design concept of noise control is proposed.

Vehicle emission is one of the major sources of air pollution, and provides some undesirable effects on the atmospheric environment and human health. In this study, the driving data were recorded during road tests in Seoul metropolitan wet and analyzed by statistical techniques. The objective of the study is to analyze the driving Patterns of passenger car that influence on emissions in urban driving. The results show that the average speed is around 29.2 km/h, and the average fuel economy is 10.23 km/$\ell$. The vehicle speed of Seoul metropolitan area is slower, and the stop-and-go operation is more frequent than CVS-75 test mode which is used far emission and fuel economy test.
Recently, the number of traffic accidents on trunk roads tends to decrease due to the performance improvement of passenger vehicles. In the commuter rush hour of morning and evening, vehicles via residential road increases without going along trunk roads. Therefore, there are many traffic accidents of pedestrians (or bicycles) and vehicles on residential roads. In order to safeguard residents against traffic accidents, traffic calming devices (TCD), such as chicane, speed hump, and school zone, etc. have been introduced. Investigating these effects repeatedly is not easy since many times and efforts are required, such as observed at the place actually. In this paper, the effects of TCDs in residential areas, such as noise, speed, and emission of a vehicle, using Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) are examined. As a result, it is found that it is possible to reduce the speed of the vehicle by TCD, and the level of noise at the location behind TCD becomes higher than the level of noise at the location of TCD implemented.
