욕지도(경남) 산림식생 유형구분과 공간분포 특성 (Classification and Spatial Distribution of Forest Vegetation Types in Yokjido Island, Korea)

  • 욕지도는 한반도 남동부 남해안의 끝에 위치하고 있는 섬 크기 15 km2의 유인도서로 현존산림은 대부분 대상식생(substitutive vegetation)으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구는 욕지도 산림식생의 생태적 보전과 관리에 필요한 기초정보 제공을 위하여 식물사회학적 방법을 적용하여 현존식생 유형을 구분하고 상관 우점종 중심의 현존식생도를 작성하여 공간적 분포특성을 파악하였다. 현존식생은 총 8개 유형으로 구분되었고, 2개 군락(community), 4개 아군락(subcommunity), 6개 변군락(variant), 그리고 2개 아변군락(subvariant)의 식생단위 체계로 구성되어 있었으며, 대개 인간간섭, 입지환경, 천이단계, 그리고 성립기간 등에 따라 종조성적 차이를 반영하고 있었다. 종다양성 지수는 현존식생 유형 간 모두 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 전반적으로 종풍부도, 종다양도, 그리고 종균재도는 해발고도가 높아짐에 따라 통계적으로 다소 유의한 증가 경향을 보였으며, 초본성 식물종이 가장 높은 정(+)의 상관관계를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 비교적 낮은 해발고도를 가진 산지에서는 중간영역효과(mid-domain effect, MDE)로 해발고도가 높아짐에 따라 종다양성이 증가한다는 McCain의 연구 결과와 일치하는 경향을 보였다. 욕지도 산림식생은 외부간섭이 없는 한 혼효림 도중 단계를 거쳐 잠재적으로 상록활엽수가 우점하는 산림으로 천이가 이루어질 것으로 판단되었다.

울진군 왕피천 주변지역의 산림생태계 분석 -식생분야를 중심으로- (The Analysis of Forest Ecosystem in Wangpicheon Area, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea -With a Special Reference to Vegetation-)

  • 최근 개발압력이 가중되고 있는 울진군 왕피천을 대상으로 하천 주변폭 약 1km씩을 대상으로 현존식생도, 녹지자연도, 식생구조 등 산림생태계 조사를 실시하였다. 현존식생도 분석결과 식생유형은 총 26개로 구분되었으며, 그 중 소나무가 우점하는 군락이 6개 유형으로 가장 많이 나타났다. 녹지자연도의 경우 등급 8지역이 전체 조사면적의 70.8%를 차지하였으며. 등급 9지역은 0.3%로 나타났다. 식물군락의 분류는 classification 기법 중 TWINSPAN을 이용한 결과 총 5개군락, 소나무군락(I), 소나무군락(II), 소나무군락(III), 신갈나무군락(IV), 굴참나무군락(V)으로 구분되었다. 각 군락별로 상대우점치를 이용하여 식생구조를 파악하였고, 그 밖에 종수 및 개체수분석 흉고직경급별 분석, 유사도지수 분석을 실시하였다.

Development of a Fusion Vegetation Index Using Full-PolSAR and Multispectral Data

  • The vegetation index is a crucial parameter in many biophysical studies of vegetation, and is also a valuable content in ecological processes researching. The OVIs (Optical Vegetation Index) that of using multispectral and hyperspectral data have been widely investigated in the literature, while the RVI (Radar Vegetation Index) that of considering volume scattering measurement has been paid relatively little attention. Also, there was only some efforts have been put to fuse the OVI with the RVI as an integrated vegetation index. To address this issue, this paper presents a novel FVI (Fusion Vegetation Index) that uses multispectral and full-PolSAR (Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar) data. By fusing a NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) of RapidEye and an RVI of C-band Radarsat-2, we demonstrated that the proposed FVI has higher separability in different vegetation types than only with OVI and RVI. Also, the experimental results show that the proposed index not only has information on the vegetation greenness of the NDVI, but also has information on the canopy structure of the RVI. Based on this preliminary result, since the vegetation monitoring is more detailed, it could be possible in various application fields; this synergistic FVI will be further developed in the future.

백두대간 보호지역 침엽수림의 식생분류, 종다양성 및 구조적 특성 (Vegetation Classification, Species Diversity, and Structural Characteristics of Coniferous Forest in Baekdudaegan Protected Area, Korea)

  • 백두대간 보호지역 침엽수림은 기후변화, 식생천이, 인간간섭 등 다양한 교란 요인으로 토지 본래의 식생 조성과 구조의 변화가 커서 생태적 안정성과 더불어 경관적 다양성과 특이성이 점차 저하되고 있다. 본 연구는 백두대간 보호지역 침엽수림의 전면적이고 종합적인 보전 방안 수립의 기초자료를 제공할 목적으로 2016년에서 2020년까지 5년간 수행된 산림청 백두대간 자원실태변화조사에서 수집된 총 755개 임분의 식생정보를 바탕으로 정량적인 ZM학파의 식물사회학적 방법과 정량적인 이원지표종분석 방법(TWINSPAN)을 병용하여 종조성적 식생유형을 구분하고 그 종다양성과 구조적 특성을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 백두대간 보호지역 침엽수림의 식생유형은 2개 군락군, 4개 군락, 7개 아군락, 그리고 14개 변군락의 식생단위 체계 하에 총 15개 유형으로 구분되었다. 또한, 침엽수림 구성종의 100 m2당 평균 총피도와 출현종수는 각각 232%, 21종 그리고 종다양도와 종우점도 지수는 각각 평균 1.907, 0.222로 나타났다.

방음시설의 소음저감효과에 관한 연구 (Reducing Effect of Traffic Noise Soundproof Facilities)

  • In order to propose the design and installation information of vegetation belt, field investigation were carried out in the noise pollution control facilities of highway and the streets of a city for two years(1998~1999), and field tests were performed to analyze the noise attenuation effect of them. The noise pollution control facilities were generally classified into three types (noise barrier and vegetation belt type, mounding and vegetation belt type, vegetation belt type only). Most soundproof facilities were proved the noise reduction effects. But according to width, height, structure, auditory distance and planting forms of them, difference of noise reduction effects were investigated. The soundproof facility was suitable the mounding and vegetation belt type in the consideration of road environment, and the installation standard of vegetation was estimated that the width of vegetation was at least 20m and the length of that was 2 times in the distance from noise source.

비슬산(琵瑟山) 산림식생(山林植生)의 군락구조(群落構造) (Community Structure of forest vegetation in Mt. Bislsan)

  • Vegetation composition and structure of forest community at Mt. Bislsan, Dalseung-Gun, Daegu in Korea, were studied using a qualitative with a quantitative approach and its vegetation types and various ecological characteristics such as the importance values, species diversity of the major component species analyzed. The forest vegetation were classified into 2 community group, 14 community, 6 group, and total of 18 vegetation units. Pinus densiflora distributed mainly from lower at the sea level, while Quercus mongolica tended to distributed upper altitude in Physiognomical vegetation. the species diversity values showed mostly 0.8 and Quercus dentata, Quercus serrato and Cornus controversa Community and so on highly showed to 1.0 and 1.1. According to the results of importance value analysis, the I.V. of pinus densiflora and Quercus mongolica highly showed in the tree and subtree layer, and Rhododendron mucronulatum and Lindera obtusiloba and so on highly showed in the shrub.

선운산 지역의 현존식생과 잠재자연식생 (Actual Vegetation and Potential Natural Vegetation of Seonunsan Area, Southwestern Korea)

  • The potential natural vegetation of Seonunsan area, southwestern Korea, was inferred from the actual vegetation. In previous two papers the plant communities of actual vegetation of the area is grouped into nine types; Quercus variabilis, Pinus densiflora, Carpinus tschonoskii, Quercus serrata, Camellia japonica (plantation), Quercus aliena, Pinus thunbergii, Zelkova serrata and Carpinus laxiflora forest. With the analysis of species richness, age structure and various informations on vegetation changes of the plant communities, two paths of late stage succession are suggested in climatic climax starting from Pinus densiflora forest in the area. One is through Quercus variabilis forest to Carpinus laxiflora forest in upper parts of the mountain and the other through Quercus aliena forest to Carpinus tschonoskii forest in lower parts of the mountain. With analysis of actual vegetation and the examination of informations including human activities in the area, the potential natural vegetation of the area was inferred. The potential natural vegetation of the area was mainly composed of Carpinus laxiflora, Carpinus tschonoskii, Pinus densiflora and Zelkova serrata forest. The actual vegetation map and potential natural vegetation map (scale, 1:25, 000) and other results from this study might be the useful data for the protection of natural vegetation and restoration of the current vegetation.

Landscape Ecological Studies on Structure and Dynamics of Plant Populations on Vegetation-Landscape Patterns in Rural Regions: I. The Effect of Patch Shape on the Initial Population Structure of Pine and Oaks

  • Secondary vegetation. the holistically integrated system of nature and human being, is the complicated ecosystem that is composed of natural and man-created factors. Understanding the ecological function of secondary vegetation supplies us many important informations for sustainable landscape management and ecological restoration planning. In this research, we tried to examine the shape effect of vegetation patch on early structure of populations of pine and oaks. Moreover. we also tried to clarify the ecological functions of patch edge by exploring the patch effect on germination using patch index. In addition, we present the landscape structure of man -made vegetation of our study area, and setting experimental design of research. Vegetation landscape of study area is typical human disturbed landscape mainly composed of disturbance patches. Vegetation types of graveyard and managed pine forest were controlled by periodically repeated management. However, current seedlings of pine occurred well at both vegetation types. Presence of both saplings were more controlled in managed pine forest (PDM) and graveyard (G) than those of undergrowth (PD) and forest edge (FE) with canopy trees. The number of pine seedlings increased with patch size and patch perimeter. That of oak seedlings was, however, not significantly different. Larger graveyards provided higher light availability for germination of pine seedlings. We think, however, most seedlings of both species in the large sized graveyards without shade will die more easily than that of small sized ones before rainy summer. Relationships between patch shape and germination of two woody species cannot be exactly explained enough yet in these results. More informations on spatial interaction of the total species with differently sized patches are necessary to solve the concept of patch effect on species colonization.

Classification of Forest Cover Types in the Baekdudaegan, South Korea

  • This study was carried out to introduce the forest cover types of the Baekdudaegan inhabiting the number of native tree species. In order to understand the vegetation distribution characteristics of the Baekdudaegan, a vegetation survey was conducted on the major 20 mountains of the Baekdudaegan. The vegetation data were collected from 3,959 sample points by the point-centered quarter method. Each mountain was classified into 4-7 forests by using various multivariate statistical methods such as cluster analysis, indicator species analysis, multiple discriminant analysis, and species composition analysis. The forests were classified mainly according to the relative abundance of Quercus mongolica. There was a total of 111 classified forests and these forests were integrated into the following nine forest cover types using the percentage similarity index and by clustering according to vegetation type: 1) Mongolian oak, 2) Mongolian oak and other deciduous, 3) Oaks (Mixed Quercus spp.), 4) Korean red pine, 5) Korean red pine and oaks, 6) ash, 7) mixed mesophytic, 8) subalpine zone coniferous, and 9) miscellaneous forest. Forests grouped within the subalpine zone coniferous and miscellaneous classifications were characterized by similar environmental conditions and those forests that did not fit in any other category, respectively.

도시하천의 횡단구조에 따른 식생분포특성 연구 -서울시 도림천, 방학천, 성내천, 양재천을 사례로- (Research on Characteristics of Vegetation Subsequent to Crossing Structure of the Urban Streams - Centering on the Cases of Dorimcheon, Banghakcheon, Seongnaecheon and Yangjaecheon in Seoul -)

  • 본 연구는 서울시내 도림천, 방학천, 성내천, 양재천 일부구간을 대상으로 도시하천의 식생회복을 위한 기초자료 구축을 통해 횡단구조를 유형화하고 유형별 식생분포 특성을 규명하고자 하였다. 도시하천 횡단구조는 제방형태(수직형, 사면형)와 둔치 유무, 호안구조의 3가지 항목을 조합하여 사면형 56개 유형, 수직형 31개 유형으로 구분되었다. 대상지내에서는 SB1(저수호안-자연형 식생호안, 고수호안-자연하안), SG5(저수호안-콘크리트, 고수호안-사석공) 유형을 비롯한 사면형 9개 유형, VH4(제방호안-찰쌓기), VH7(제방호안-콘크리트) 유형 등 수직형 3개 유형이 도출되었다. 이 중 저수호안과 고수호안이 모두 콘크리트로 정비된 SG7 유형과, VG7 유형이 가장 긴 구간에서 분포하였다. 주요 8개 유형에 대한 미지형구조 및 식생구조를 조사 분석결과 유형화 항목별 특성에 따라 횡단구조가 식물생육에 미치는 영향을 파악할 수 있었으나 횡단구조 유형별 식생분포 특성은 뚜렷치 않았다.
