징거미새우, Macrobrachium nipponense (De Haan) 유생의 탈피주기별 탄소수지 (Carbon Budget during the Molt Cycle of Macrobrachium nipponense (De Haan) larvae)

  • 담수산 징거미새우, Macrobrachium nipponeue의 유생을 수온 $25^{\circ}$, 염분 $7\%o$의 일정한 조건하에서 사육하면서 섭이율, 호흡률 및 성장률을 측정하였으며, 이를 토대로 하여 생물에너지학적 효율을 분석하기 위하여 모든 유생기간 동안 탄소의 흡수 및 분배에 대한 탄소수지를 구명하였다. 생리적, 생화학적 자료로서 시간의 경과에 따른 발생변화의 양상과 섭이율, 성장률 및 호흡률 등을 회귀방정식으로 나타내었다. 일일 섭이율(F)과 비탄소섭이율(F/C)은 대체로 탈피후기에서 최소를 나타내었다. 그리고 성장율(G, G/C)은 탈피주기 동안 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 탈피주기 동안 탄소는 초기에 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 질소는 탈피전기까지 꾸준히 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 단백질은 탈피전기의 중기에 다소 높은 축적을 보이면서 탈피전기의 말기까지 일정량을 유지하면서 체물질을 구성하는 우점성분으로 일정하게 유지되었다. 유생의 섭이(F), 성장(G), 호흡(R) 및 동화량(A)의 절대값은 탈피주기동안 뚜렷한 변화를 나타내었다. 탈피주기 가운데 탈피전기로 진행하면서, 성장률보다 호흡율이 더 커졌으며, 탈피주기 동안 변화하고 있는 호흡을 대사계수, 즉 호흡이 탄소로 전환되어 이화되고 있는 부분으로 나타내었다. 탈피후기에서 R/G<1, (R1, (R>G)로 변동하였다. 부화후부터 후기 유생단계까지의 누적탄소수지를 보면, 총섭이량은 $491.54{\mu}g\;C/ind$였으며, 동화효율은 $85.3\%$ 호흡율은 $47.7\%$ 그리고 성장율은 $37.6\%$였다. 그리고 총섭이량중 동화되지 않고 소실된 양은 $72.19{\mu}g\;C/ind$로서 $14.6\%$를 차지하였다.

2차 유체 조건 변화에 대한 CO2용 수냉식 열펌프의 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (Performance Characteristics of Water-Chilling Heat Pump Using CO2 on the Variation of Secondary Fluid Conditions)

  • The performance characteristics of water-chilling heat pump using $CO_2$ with respect to variation of inlet temperature and mass flow rate of secondary fluid was investigated experimentally. An experimental apparatus is consisted of a compressor, a gas cooler, an expansion valve, an evaporator and a liquid receiver. All heat exchangers used in the test rig are counter-flow-type heat exchangers with concentric dual tubes, which ate made of copper. The gas cooler and the evaporator consist of 6 and 4 straight sections respectively arranged in parallel, each has 2.4 m length. The experimental results were summarized as the followings : As inlet temperature of secondary fluid in the gas cooler increases from $10^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$, the compressor work, heating capacity and heating COP were varied to 37.8%, -13%, -35.9%, respectively. The heating capacity, compressor work, heating COP were turned into 23.3%, 6.42%, 13.1%, respectively when ass flow rate of secondary fluid in the evaporator increases from 70 g/s to 150 g/s. The above tendency is similar with performance variation with respect to temperature variation of secondary fluid in the conventional vapor compression cycle.

Transaminase 활성에 관한 연구(제 1보) (The Studies on the Transaminase Activities(1))

  • Transaminase has been a popular methods in the clinical laboratory for the diagnosis of particular diseases. The methods we are familiar with should be considered further on the serum states provided on the test to be done. (serum freshness, temperature and duration preserved) I have studied transaminase activities of the serum preserved under frozen (-10$\circ$C), refrigerated (4$\circ$C) and room temperature conditions. At a given interval those activities of serum are measured and then the results are compared with the optical density and calculated for the standard deviation and percent variation (Table 1. & Fig. 1.) G.O.T. activity is maintained decreased at a relatively constant rate from 2nd day to 14th day preservation under frozen and refrigerated but its activity variation at 25$\circ$C are far greater than the above conditions throughout the test periods. Elevated G.P.T. level of serum compared with G.O.T. are remained at any temperature and duration. Unless the determination of amino acid level study can not ruled out clearly.

TMS320C5416을 이용한 SOLA-B 알고리즘과 G.729A 보코더의 음질 향상된 가변 전송률 보코더의 실시간 구현 (Real-time Implementation of Variable Transmission Bit Rate Vocoder Improved Speech Quality in SOLA-B Algorithm & G.729A Vocoder Using on the TMS320C5416)

  • In this paper, we implemented the vocoder of variable rate by applying the SOLA-B algorithm to the G.729A to the TMS320C5416 in real-time. This method using the SOLA-B algorithm is that it is reduced the duration of the speech in encoding and is played at the speed of normal by extending the duration of the speech in decoding. But the method applied to the existed G.729A and SOLA-B algorithm is caused the loss of speech quality in G.729A which is not reflected about length variation of speech. Therefore the proposed method is encoded according as it is modified the structure of LSP quantization table about the length of speech is reduced by using the SOLA-B algorithm. The vocoder of variable rate by applying the G.729A and SOLA-B algorithm is represented the maximum complexity of 10.2MIPS about encoder and 2.8MIPS about decoder in 8kbps transmission rate. Also it is evaluated 17.3MIPS about encoder, 9.9MIPS about decoder in 6kbps and 18.5MIPS about encoder, 11.1MIPS about decoder in 4kbps according to the transmission rate. The used memory is about program ROM 9.7kwords, table ROM 4.69kwords, RAM 5.2kwords. The waveform of output is showed by the result of C simulator and Bit Exact. Also, the result of MOS test for evaluation of speech quality of the vocoder of variable rate which is implemented in real-time, it is estimated about 3.68 in 4kbps.

Effect of Ionic Copper Toxicity on the Growth of Green Alga, Selenastrum capricornutum

  • The growth of Selenastrum capricornutum in culture was investigated as a function of ionic copper concentrations to verify the toxicity and physiological variation. In a $Cu^{++}$ excess culture (E: $Cu^{++}$ of $130{\mu}g/l$), the growth rate (K)(0.32) was lower than that of the control culture (C: $Cu^{++}$ of $0.065{\mu}g/l$) (0.61) after 8 days and the exponential growth rate ($R_E$) was also found to be lower in culture E (1.1) than culture C (2.9). On the contrary, the K of S. capricornutum in trace $Cu^{++}$ culture ($T_1$ and $T_2$, 0.72) after 6 days tended to be more increased than culture C (0.68). From 8 to 14 days of culture, the amounts of chlorophyllls a and b were increased in culture C (chlorophyll a, $106->126{\mu}g/g$ dry wt; chlorophyll b, $158->208{\mu}g/g$ dry wt; chlorophyll b were decreased in culture E (chlorophyll a, $309->235{\mu}g/g$ dry wt; chlorophyll b, $405->352{\mu}g/g$ dry wt). The amounts of chlorophylls in ionic copper trace culture ($T_1$ and $T_2$) [(chl a/b) of $T_1$: $384/620\;{\mu}g/g$ dry wt; (chl a/b) of $T^2$:$320/467{\mu}g/g$ dry wt] were increased more than the culture C($260/387{\mu}g/g$ dry wt). Howeveer, when photosynthetic rates were normalized to the dry weight of algae, the control culture continued to showed higher values than the treated culture ($T_1$). An appropriate amount of ionic copper ($T_1:\;26\;{\mu}g/l$) stimulated the grwoth of S. capricornutum than the ionic copper content of $13\;{\mu}g/l$ ($T_2$), while the excess amount of ionic copper ($130\;{\mu}g/l$) resulted in the highest toxicity to the growth of S. capricornutum.

무기탄소원으로서의 NaHCO3가 미세조류 Scenedesmus dimorphus의 성장에 미치는 영향 평가 (Effects of sodium bicarbonate as an inorganic carbon source on the growth of scenedesmus dimorphus)

  • This study investigates the effect of sodium bicarbonate ($NaHCO_3$) on growth of S.dimorphus. $NaHCO_3$ concentration was varied from 0 to 2 g-C/L. As a result, the increase in concentration of $NaHCO_3$ up to 1.5 g-C/L increased dry weight of algae. The highest specific growth rate of S. dimorphus was $0.36day^{-1}$ which was obtained at concentration of 0.5 g-C/L $NaHCO_3$. pH showed a large variation range at the concentrations lower than 0.5 g-C/L $NaHCO_3$ whereas inorganic carbon, nitrate and phosphorus removal rates were almost same at the concentrations higher than 0.5 g-C/L $NaHCO_3$ (0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2 g-C/L $NaHCO_3$). Their average inorganic carbon, nitrate and phosphorus removal rate were 70 mg-C/L/d, 11.3 mg-N/L/d, and 1.6 mg-P/L/d, respectively. Thus, $NaHCO_3$ didn't effect on inorganic carbon, nitrate and phosphorus removal rate of S. dimorphus.

인체의 생리적 반응과 의복 기후, 주관적 감각에 미친 계절의 영향 (The Effects of Season on Physiological Responses of Human Body, Clothing Microclimate, and Subjective Sensations)

  • To investigate the seasonal effects on physiological responses of human body, clothing micro-climate, and subjective sensation, selected the cloths the most frequently dressed by men in spring and fall, and completed wearing trials in the climatic chamber. The results are as follows: 1. Rectal temp. ranged 36.8-37.1$^{\circ}C$ in either spring or fall, and no seasonal effect was found. 2. In skin temp., there was no seasonal effect in forehead, abdomen, and forearm. Skin temp. of chest was higher in spring than in fall. On the contrary, reverse was true in high and leg. Average skin temp. ranged 32.2-33.2$^{\circ}C$ in spring and 32.9-34.$0^{\circ}C$ in fall. 3. Average total sweat rate of spring, 79.4g/hr, was smaller than that of fall, 110.9g/hr. 4. Clothing temp. ranged 28.1-32.8$^{\circ}C$ in spring and 27.6-31.$0^{\circ}C$ in fall. Clothing humidity ranged 36.9-48.9% in spring and 38.2-51.1% in fall. Therefore, clothing microclimate was higher during fall than during spring. As results, skin temp. of the body core except chest did not show seasonal variation, but there was obvious seasonal variation in skin temp. of the extremities. Therefore, seasonal variation should be take into consideration in the experiments related to the cloth. In addition, standard for each season and the degree of work performance should be re-established in clothing micro-climate.

Effects of Low-Temperature Sintering on Varistor Properties and Stability of VMCDNB-Doped Zinc Oxide Ceramics

  • The varistor properties and stability against dc-accelerated stress of $V_2O_5-Mn_3O_4-Co_3O_4-Dy_2O_3-Nb_2O_5-Bi_2O_3$ (VMCDNB)-doped zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $850-925^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Increasing the sintering temperature increased the average grain size from 4.6 to 8.7 mm and decreased the density of the sintered pellet density from 5.54 to $5.42g/cm^3$. The breakdown field decreased from 5919 to 1465 V/cm because of the increase in the average grain size. Zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $875^{\circ}C$ showed the highest nonlinear coefficient (43.6) and the highest potential barrier height (0.96 eV). Zinc oxide ceramics sintered at $850^{\circ}C$ showed the highest stability: the variation rate of the breakdown field was -2.0% and the variation rate of the nonlinear coefficient was -23.3%, after application of the specified stress (applied voltage/temperature/time).

The Characteristics of Plasma Polymerized Carbon Hardmask Film Prepared by Plasma Deposition Systems with the Variation of Temperature

  • In this study, we investigated the deposition behavior and the etch resistivity of plasma polymerized carbon hardmask (ppCHM) film with the variation of process temperature. The etch resistivity of deposited ppCHM film was analyzed by thickness measurement before and after direct contact reactive ion etching process. The physical and chemical properties of films were characterized on the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscope, Raman spectroscope, stress gauge, and ellipsometry. The deposition behavior of ppCHM process with the variation of temperature was correlated refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k), intrinsic stress (MPa), and deposition rate (A/s) with the hydrocarbon concentration, graphite (G) and disordered (D) peak by analyzing the Raman and FT-IR spectrum. From this experiment we knew an optimal deposition condition for structure of carbon hardmask with the higher etch selectivity to oxide. It was shown the density of ppCHM film had 1.6~1.9 g/cm3 and its refractive index was 1.8~1.9 at process temperature, $300{\sim}600^{\circ}C$. The etch selectivity of ppCHM film was shown about 1:4~1:8 to undoped siliconoxide (USG) film (etch rate, 1300 A/min).

STUDY OF PERIOD VARIATION OF THE ECLIPSING BINARY SYSTEM W DELPHINI

  • A period study of the semi-detached eclipsing binary system W Delphini based on the extensive series of minimum timings covering more than a century(109 years) indicates a cyclic(O-C) variation of the system. This variation can be explained as due either to (1) stellar magnetic activity cycles of the cool subgiant G5 secondary component of the binary with a subsurface magnetic field equals to 3 kG, or (2) a long-term orbital period increases with a rate of $1.68{\times}10^{-8}$ day/cycle caused by a mass transfer rate of $4.9{\times}10^{-8}M_{\odot}yr^{-1}$ from the less to more massive component modulated by a light time effect due to a hypothetical third body with period of $53.4{\pm}1.06$ years. The former explanation is more recommended than the later one since the obtained third body mass value($M_3=1.58\;M_{\odot}$) is quite large but it can not manifest itself observationally and also it cannot be a white dwarf. In the contrary, from the magnetic activity point of view, the obtained characteristics are in good consistent when applying Applegate(1992) mechanism. However, further precise photometric and CCD observations for minima timings with brightness determinations are needed to confirm the present solution.
