  • Because of the convenience of variable speed control and proportion of input current and torque, DC servo motor has been used as an actuator. With increasing development speed of robot and factory automation machinery, the actuator of excellent control characteristics is demanded. In this paper, The control characteristics of DC servo motor is tested by Fuzzy control with microprocessor and DC servo motor controller is designed for drive of the cartesian coordinate type robot. The control characteristics experimentation is realized to one axis position, two axes coordinate and circular motion control by experimental equipments.

  • This paper describes the BLDC motor which is applicated for a top front loading domestic washing machine. This motor is adopted direct drive washing machine without gear-belt-pulley system. Because gear box is removed, machine volume and noise are reduced. Moreover mechanical troubles in gear box are removed. Realization of variable speed region through of PWM control and high speed is able to efficient washing and spinning.

  • In induction motor control systems driven by the indirect vector control scheme, the rotor speed is measured to determine the flux angle which is a key variable in the control algorithm. The most popular way to measure the angular velocity is the use of rotary encoder. Since the errorneous measurement of rotor speed results in incorrect flux angle estimate, the control input generated based on the faulty information should be far from the desired (correct) value and deteriorates the overall control performance. In this paper the effects of encoder fault on motor variables and control performance are analyzed by both theoretical approach and experimental study. A parity equation based on the Power is suggested and applied to detect the incipient fault of encoder.

  • High-performance Current Source Inverter (CSI)-fed, variable speed alternating current drives are prepared for various industrial applications. CSI-fed Induction Motor (IM) drives are managed by using different control methods. Noteworthy methods include scalar Control (V/f), Input-Output Linearization (IOL) control, Field-Oriented Control (FOC), and Direct Torque Control (DTC). The objective of this work is to compare the dynamic performance of the aforementioned drive control methods for CSI-fed IM drives. The dynamic performance results of the proposed drives are individually analyzed through sensitivity tests. The tests selected for the comparison are step changes in the reference speed and torque of the motor drive. The operation and performance of different vector control methods are verified through simulations with MATLAB/Simulink and experimental results.

  • The conventional hysterysis band DTC(Direct Torque Control) strategy have relatively high torque ripple at low speed and variable switching frequency according to motor speed even though it provides a fast torque response with very simple scheme consisted with only two hysteresis band comparators and a switching table for torque and flux control. In this paper, author proposed a new DTC scheme based on the torque slope and reference voltage control. The new scheme can maintain the minimized torque ripple and constant switching frequency. Experimental tests carried out with an 1.5kW induction motor drive system show improved dynamic characteristics and prove the feasibility of proposed strategy.

  • In case of operating at Variable speed the induction motor by a frequency transformer, it will cause ripples in motor torque and considerably bad effects on the machines because the output side of the frequency transformer involves a great number of harmonics. This paper Presents the methods of decreasing torque ripples in induction motor and of improving current waveform, by means of forming the waveforms of output current into multi-step waveforms similiar to sinusoid, and also by means of eliminating the harmonic components maximally, in case of operating a 18-phase multi-inverter combining 3-step current source inverter.

  • A reciprocating compressor unit with variable rotating speed driven by BLDC motor is mounted Inside hermetic chamber on an internal suspension composed of 4 roil springs and a discharge pipe. A method for predicting the dynamic behavior of compressor body is required for a reduction of transmitted vibrations. The mechanical characteristics of spring and discharge pipe stiffness properties have been obtained from experimental tests and mass moment of inertia of the compressor body iron CAD. To confirm the vibration model for the compressor body, free vibration analyses are performed with theoretical and experimental methods. results for analytical investigations on the dynamic behavior of the compressor body and the transmitted forces to the hermetic chamber through the suspension elements are Presented.

Mechanical characteristics such as mass, spring and discharge pipe stiffness properties are obtained with experimentation. To confirm the vibration model for compressor frame, free vibration analyses are performed with theoretical and experimental methods. Results for analytical and experimental investigations on dynamic behavior of the compressor frame are presented, and the agreement between measured and predicted results are satisfactory.

  • Flywheel energy storage system (FESS) operates motor or generator by utilizing the stored kinetic energy in the rotating mass. Thus, the FESS can support the frequency control of the power system. However, the FESS is disabled when the rotor speed reaches to its minium value. Thus, the second frequency dip occurs in the power system. This paper proposes the frequency control scheme of FESS based on a variable gain depending on the rotor speed and frequency deviation. The proposed scheme prevents the second frequency dip because the variable gain decreases depending on the stored in the FESS. The performance of the proposed scheme is investigated for the IEEE 14-bus system.

  • SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor)의 토크는 인덕턴스의 기울기에 비례하여 발생하기 때문에 비선형 토크 특성을 가지며 토크 맥동이 크고 소음이 심한 단점을 가지고 있다. 특히 SRM의 상용화에 가장 큰 장해 요인으로 작용하고 있는 것은 회전축에서 발생하는 맥동 토크로 이에 의해 기기자체는 물론이고 주변장치에까지 여러 가지 악영향을 미친다. 따라서 맥동 토크를 저감시키는 방법으로 다양한 방안이 국내외 연구자들에 의하여 발표되었고 히스테리시스 제어기의 경우 초핑 제어에 비해 평활한 전류를 흘려줄 수 있다는 장점이 있다는 연구결과가 있다. 그러나 히스테리시스 밴드를 결정함에 있어서 밴드가 너무 작을 경우 많은 스위칭으로 인한 스위칭 손실과 엔코더의 사용 시 불안정한 초기 기동을 야기할 수 있는 둥의 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 속도오차에 따른 히스테리시스 밴드의 변화를 통하여 보다 안정적이고 빠른 속도응답을 가지면서 정상상태에서 토크 리플을 줄일 수 있는 가변 히스테리시스 제어기에 대하여 연구하였다.
