First Moment Closure Simulation of Floating Turbulent Premixed Flames in Stagnation Flows (정체 유동장에 떠있는 난류 예혼합 화염의 일차 모멘트 닫힘 모사)

  • Computational fluid dynamic simulation is performed for the floating turbulent premixed flames stabilized in stagnation flows of Cho et al. [1] and Cheng and Shepherd [2]. They are both in the wrinkled flamelet regime far from the extinction limit with $u'/S^{0}_{L}$ less than unity. The turbulent flux is given in the first moment closure as a sum of the classical gradient flux due to turbulent motions and the countergradient flux due to thermal expansion. The parameter $N_{B}'s$ are greater than unity with the countergradient flux dominant over the gradient flux. The countergradient flux is assumed to be zero in $\bar{c}<0.05$. The flame surface density is modeled as a symmetric parabolic function with respect to $\bar{c}$. The product of the maximum flame surface density and the mean stretch factor is considered as a tuning constant to match the flame location. Good agreement is achieved with the measured $\tilde{w}$ and $\bar{c}$ profiles along the axis in both flames.

Current Limiting Characteristics of Improved Flux-Lock Type SFCL According to Winding Direction of Coil 2 and Variable Number of Coil 1 and Coil 2 (개선된 자속구속형의 2차 측 권선 방향과 1차 권선수와 2차 권선수의 변화에 따른 사고전류제한 특성)

  • The improved flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is composed of a series transformer and superconducting unit of the yttrium-barium-copper-oxide (YBCO) coated conductor. In this paper, we investigated current limiting characteristics through winding direction of coil 2 and variable number of coil 1 and coil 2 in improved flux-lock type SFCL. The better fault current characteristics and the burden of YBCO coated conductor can be confirmed from the experimental result in the higher turn ratio of coil 1 and coil 2 in the additive conditions. In case of subtractive condition, we can confirm a similar result in the same case of experimental conditions. but the burden of YBCO coated conductor has been increased from an increase in winding numbers of coil 2.

  • Flame characteristics and combustion stability of a swirl coaxial injector are studied experimentally. Characteristics of flame and combustion instability are analyzed with the parameter of MFR (momentum flux ratio) using hexane instead of kerosene. Flame patterns of blue and yellow are changed with variable MFR. Combustion instabilities are measured and analyzed by adopting a model chamber. Combustion instability mapping is made by evaluating damping factor at the 2 L (second longitudinal) mode with variable MFR in 63 cases for operating condition.

  • This paper proposes the variable wind generation system based on the direct torque control(DTC)for the interior permanent magnet synchronous generator. The proposed system can achieve the MPPT control without wind speed in addition to the speed and position sensorless control as well as the conventional current control method. The DTC has several advantages such as simply system configuration, ease of the flux weakening control and the sensorless control. The experimental results show the performance of the proposed wind generation system.

  • In this study, we evaluate the performance of permanent magnets (PMs). The efficiency of attraction in the high speed region was studied using the Variable Flux Memory Motor (VFMM). It is presented in order to analyze the magnetic characteristics of PMs, using the second quadrant plan data with re- and demagnetization. In addition, this study focuses on the evaluation of operational characteristics relative to the magnetizing directions according to the d-axis currents, by using one of the finite element solutions. The feasibility of application for the VFMM has been experimentally demonstrated.

  • A direct torque control(DTC) based sensorless speed control system which employs a new closed loop flux observer is proposed. The flux observer takes an adaptive scheduling gains where motet speed is used as the scheduling variable. Adaptive nature comes from the fact that the estimated values of stator resistance and speed are included as observer parameters. The parameters of the PI controllers adopted in the adaptive law for the estimation of stator resistance and motor speed are determined by simple genetic algorithm. Simulation results in low speed region are given for comparison between proposed and conventional flux estimate scheme.

  • We present the results of flux monitoring of BL Lac object 0716+71 and 0954+65 at 22GHz and 43GHz. Both of the flat spectrum radio sources are known as Intraday variables (IDVs) which are characterized by fast flux variation on time scales of a day or less. In general, the IDV phenomenon is interpreted as the effect of refractive scintillation in the interstellar medium or the evidence of source intrinsic flux variation. The observations were made simultaneously at 22GHz and 43GHz with KVN Yonsei 21m radio telescope.

  • Direct Torque Control(DTC) is considered to be an useful control scheme of high performance induction motor drives because the scheme provides a quick torque response without requiring the complex field-orientation block and inner current regulation loop. Among a few drawbacks of the conventional DTC scheme, large current harmonics due to flux drooping phenomenon in a low speed range may be the major difficulty In order to remove the difficulty, a fuzzy variable switching sector scheme and its real-time implementation algorithm are proposed in this paper. A DSP based control board is designed for the Induction motor drives with the DTC scheme including the fuzzy switching sector algorithm. Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • This paper presents an implementation of high-dynamic performance control system of Reluctance Synchronous Motor (RSM) drives for an industrial servo system with direct torque control (DTC). The problems of DTC for high-dynamic performance and maximum efficiency RSM drives are the nonlinear variable flux and inductance due to a saturated stator linkage flux and nonlinear inductance curve with various load currents. The accurate estimation of the stator flux and torque are obtained using stator flux observer of which a saturated inductance Ld and Lq can be compensated by using the adapted neural network from measuring the modulus and angle of the stator current. To obtain fast torque response and maximum torque/current with varying load current, the reference command flux is ensured by imposing Ids=Iqs. This control strategy is proposed to fast response and optimal efficiency for RSM drive. In order to prove rightness of the suggested control algorithm, we have some actual experimental system using 6000 pulse/rev encoder at ${\pm}10$ and ${\pm}1500rpm$. The developed digitally high-performance control system are shown some good response characteristics of control results and high performance features using 1.0kW RSM of which has 2.57 Ld/Lq salient ratio.

  • To get high efficiency in variable speed control of induction motor it is required that the vector control should be separated from flux components current and torque component current. In this paper the vector control is modeled by the estimation of the stator flex. Representing induction motor speed controller as a digital system with he use of he 32bit DSP improves the motor control performance The IGBT is used as the switching device and the validity of the proposed vector control is proved through voltage current wave and the characteristics of the velocity response as the drive circuit being simplified
