가변 용적형 사판식 피스톤 펌프의 회전 속도 조절에 의한 정압 제어 소비 동력 절감 (Reduction of Power Consumption for Constant Pressure Control of Variable Swash Plate-type Piston Pump by Varying the Pump Speed)

  • This paper proposes a control scheme to reduce the power consumption of a variable displacement swash-plate type piston pump supplying oil to a valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder at constant pressure. Whenever flow rate demand was absent, the swash plate angle and the pump speed were changed to the minimum values required to compensate for the internal leakage flow. In response to command signals, the pump speed was changed in proportion to the absolute mean value of the speed component for position commands. At the same time, a pressure regulator was activated to maintain constant system pressure by precisely adjusting the pump speed with the swash plate angle fixed at the maximum. The conventional system consisting of a pressure-compensated variable displacement type pump is driven at a constant speed of 1,800rpm. By comparison, computer simulation and experimental results showed that idling power at stand-by status could be reduced by up to 70% by reducing the pump speed from 1,800rpm to 300rpm and the swash plate angle to the minimum.

  • In this paper, the fuzzy control logic of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) is introduced to apply the variable speed drive system. Since the speed-torque property of SRM has high speed variation to the changes of torque like a DC motor, to apply SRM to the variable speed driving system, the optimal speed-torque control method is required. As the control method like this, the fuzzy logic and PI control are proposed, and characteristics of them are compared and verified through the experimental results

  • The field oriented control of induction motors is widely used in high performance applications. However, detuning caused by parameter disturbance still limits the performance of these drives. In order to accomplish variable speed operation conventional PI-like controllers are commonly used. These controllers provide limited good performance over a wide range of operation even under ideal field oriented conditions. This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy controller(AFC) and artificial neural network(ANN) based on the vector controlled induction motor drive system. Also, this paper is proposed control of speed and current using fuzzy adaptation mechanism(FAM), AFC and estimation of speed using ANN. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system using FAM, AFC and ANN controller. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of this controller.

발전소 통풍계통의 가변속 운전을 위한 최적 설계조건에 관한 연구 (Study on Optimum Design Condition for Variable Speed Control of Rated Speed Fans used in a Power Plant)

  • Recently, the large capacity draft fans in power plants had been changed to variable speed type to educe the power consumption. But the fan experienced the unexpected vibration at specific speed regions. In this study, the high vibration frequency of the fan was confirmed and the natural frequency of the rotor were measured and analyzed by FEM programs. It was analyzed that the vibration was caused by the resonance at the frequency, 30.7Hz. So, the rotor vibration characteristic was changed by adjusting the distance between the shaft bearings. It was conformed the high vibration was disappeared over the all operation speeds.

  • This paper introduces a methodology for NREL 5MW wind turbine, which is the variable speed and variable pitch(VSVP) control system. This control strategy maximizes the power extraction capability from the wind in the low wind speed region and regulates the wind turbine power as the rated one for the high wind speed region. Also, pitch control efficiency is raised by using pitch scheduling.Torque schedule is made of torque table depending on the rotor speed. Torque control is used for vertical region in a torque-rotor speed chart. In addition to these, mechanical loads reduction using a drive train damper and exclusion zone on a torque schedule is tried. The NREL 5MW wind turbine control strategy is comprised by the generator torque and blade pitch control. Finally, proposed control system is verified through GH Bladed simulation.

  • Continuously variable transmission (CVT) mechanisms considered here is a V-belt drive with two variable-diameter pulleys and effective diameters. One pulley was set by a mechanical link while the other was spring-loaded to provide automatic correspondence. The center distance between the two variable-diameter pulleys was fixed. Experimental studies were executed to analyze efficiencies as change of its speed ratio.

Sensorless Control of Non-salient Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives using Rotor Position Tracking PI Controller

  • This paper presents a new velocity estimation strategy for a non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motor drive without high frequency signal injection or special PWM pattern. This approach is based on the d-axis current regulator output voltage of the drive system, which contains the rotor position error information. The rotor velocity can be estimated through a rotor position tracking PI controller that controls the position error at zero. For zero and low speed operation, the PI gain of the rotor position tracking controller has a variable structure according to the estimated rotor velocity. Then, at zero speed, the rotor position and velocity have sluggish dynamics because the varying gains are very low in this region. In order to boost the bandwidth of the PI controller during zero speed, the loop recovery technique is applied to the control system. The PI tuning formulas are also derived by analyzing this control system by frequency domain specifications such as phase margin and bandwidth assignment.

A New-Generation Sensorless Vector Control Scheme for Induction Motor Drive

  • This paper presents some results of performance evaluation test via actual machines of a new hybrid vector control utilizing a new indirect orientation scheme and stable filter embedded direct orientation scheme for induction motors without speed or position sensor. It is shown through the test by 0.3(kW) and 3.7(kW) motors that the proposed sensorless vector control has the following high potentialities: 1) speed range is 0 to 600(rad/s) or more, 2) zero-speed command is accepted and settles the machines at a stable standstill with no vibration 3) it can make machines to track variable command of acceleration and deceleration $\pm$6,000(rad/s2), 4) it can make machines to drive directly load of at least 26 times larger inertia than that of the machine, 5) it can make machines to produce much larger torque than the rating in torque control mode even at standstill. The performance confirmed by the test is far away for previous schemes or sensorless drive apparatuses.

  • A novel single-phase induction machine drive containing full bridge inverter is presented. The drive is intended for conveyor system or a similar type of application requiring variable-speed operation with a fan-type load characteristic. An experimental drive based on the proposed setup has been built to verify its practical viability. The paper presents the results obtained from an investigation and discusses the properties and characteristics of the drive for the entire speed range from 0 to 60Hz.

  • The switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed characteristics. But driving of SRM is nonlinear changed according to rotor position angle and phase current because of saturation in magnetic circuit, and it is difficult to drive the high efficiency. This paper proposes find point of high efficiency in variable load that are used to control switch-on/off angles and input voltage.
