  • A I-V and P-V characteristic of solar cell is changed to nonlinear by radiation and temperature. Therefore, to use efficiently PV system, operating point of PV system is must operate at maximum power point always. A performance of conventional the PO and the IC method is depend on the step size. So it has weakness which is must select optimal step size. Also, MPPT control applying PI and fuzzy control is not expected satisfactory performance, because of PI controller has fixed gain and fuzzy control has cumulative error by an integral calculus. Therefore, this paper proposes the VS-PO(Variable Stepsize - Perturbation & Observation) MPPT control that is automatically adjusted the step size according to the operating conditions. The VS-PO MPPT method proposed in this paper analyzes control characteristic about condition of radiation and compares with conventional methods. The validity of this paper proves using this results.

  • In this paper, the single-phase static VAR compensator (SVC) is applied to regulate and stabilize the generated terminal voltage of the single-phase self-excited induction generator (single-phase SEIG) driven by a variable-speed prime mover (VSPM) under the conditions of the independent inductive load variations and the prime mover speed changes The conventional fixed gain PI controller-based feedback control scheme is employed to adjust the equivalent capacitance of the single-phase SVC composed of the fixed excitation capacitor FC in parallel with the thyristor switched capacitor TSC and the thyristor controlled reactor TCR The feedback closed-loop terminal voltage responses in the single-phase SEIG coupled by a VSPM with different inductive passive load disturbances using the single-phase SVC with the PI controller are considered and discussed herem. A VSPM coupled the single-phase SEIG prototype setup is established. Its experimental results are illustrated as compared with its simulation ones and give good agreements with the digital simulation results for the single-phase SEIG driven by a VSPM, which is based on the SVC voltage regulation feedback control scheme.

  • This paper presents a variable gain current control algorithm for the stabilized grid connection between the grid and a doubly fed induction(DFIG) as a wind power generator. The performance of a RSC current controller depends highly on accurate machine parameters, and especially requires a fast and robust response regardless of the disturbances such as voltage sag. However, parameter variations of a DFIG occur at the point of grid connection, which affects the current controller gains based on DFIG parameters after a DFIG is connected to the grid. Thus, performance degrades when actual machine parameters depart from values used in the control system. In the proposed algorithm, current controller gains of the rotor side converter(RSC) are changed after a DFIG is connected to the grid. The simulation results and experimental results for a 750kW are shown to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, a new control strategy is proposed to improve the quality of the welding products. The conventional nonlinear power control system of spot welders is linearized using nonlinear feedback linearization technique based on differential geometry theory. An evolution strategy(ES) geometry is used to find optimal gain of PI controllers. It tries to find out the optimal control parameters by imitating the natural evolution. Some Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed variable power control system using ES algorithm has better dynamic performances than the conventional one.

  • A sub-${\mu}$W CMOS Wien-Bridge oscillator for ultra low power (ULP) radio applications is presented. The Wien-Bridge oscillator is based on an non-inverting opamp amplifier with a closed-loop gain $1+R_2/R_1$ as a means of providing necessary loop gain. An additional RC network provides appropriate phase shift for satisfying the Barkhausen oscillation condition at the given frequency of 1/($2{\pi}RC$). In this design, we propose a novel loop gain control method based on a variable capacitor network instead of a rather conventional variable resistor network. Implemented in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS, the oscillator consumes only 560 nA at the oscillation frequency of 22 kHz.

  • A five-week trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of organic chromium from different sources on growth performance, immune response and serum parameters of weaned pigs. One hundred and eighty Tianjin white pigs weaned at $35{\pm}1$ days of age, were allotted to three treatments with six replicates and10 pigs per pen. Pigs were fed corn-soybean-whey-fishmeal basal diets with either no supplemental Cr, $200{\mu}g/kg$ Cr as chromium picolinate (CrPi), or $200{\mu}g/kg$ Cr as chromium yeast (Cr-yeast). To assess humoral immune response, all pigs were immunized with swine fever virus on day 21 and two pigs from each pen were immunized with pure albumin on day 14. Cell-mediated immunity was measured by determining the double skinfold thickness (DST) of two pigs from each pen before and 24h after stimulation with phytohemagglutinin (PHA) on day 28. The results indicated that: (1) diets with Cr-yeast increased average daily gain (ADG, p<0.05) and tended to increase average daily feed intake (ADFI, p<0.10). Diets with CrPi did not increase ADG and ADFI (p>0.05). (2) Dietary CrPi or Cr-yeast supplementation did not affect blood urea nitrogen, glucose, or cholesterol (p>0.05), but blood urea nitrogen in CrPi and Cr-yeast supplemented groups and blood glucose in the Cr-yeast supplemented group were significantly influenced by sampling days (p<0.05). (3) Serum proteins (TP, ALB, and GLB) were influenced by sampling days (p<0.05), but not by dietary Cr treatment (p>0.10). (4) There were no significant differences among treatments in the titers of albumin antibody and swine fever virus antibody (p>0.05) or DST before and after PHA stimulation (p>0.05), indicating that organic chromium has no significant effect on the immune function of weaning pigs. Therefore, these results agree with other research that the effects of supplemental Cr are variable in weanling pigs.

  • The objective of this study is aimed at reducing the contour error of AC Servo derives by improving the interpolation error of each axis through variable structure control system. The errors in machining process by AC Servo motor are due to many elements, such as the delay of the servo drivers, friction and the gain mismatch between x axis and y axis motors and so on. Sliding mode control system is applied to a AC servo drive as a numerical example in this paper. The experiment results which are compared with those of typical PI scheme show the validity of improvement in circular interpolation error of the system.

  • Batteries are widely used for energy storage, such as ESS(Energy Storage System), electric vehicles, electric aircraft, and electric powered ships. Among them, a submarine uses a high power battery for an energy storage. When the battery of a submarine is discharged, a diesel generator generates AC power, and then AC/DC power converter change AC power to DC power for charging the battery. Therefore, in order to lower the current capacity of the diesel generator, it is necessary to use an AC/DC converter with a high input power factor. And, a power converter with a large power capacity must have high stability because it can lead to a major accident when a failure occurs. However, the control algorithm using the traditional PI controller is difficult to satisfy stability and dynamic characteristics. In this paper, we design the high power AC/DC converter with high input power factor for battery charging systems. And, we propose a stable control algorithm. The validity of the proposed method is verified through simulation and experiments.

  • In this paper, the comparative steady-state operating performance analysis algorithms of the stand-alone single-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) is presented on the basis of the two nodal admittance approaches using the per-unit frequency in addition to a new state variable de-fined by the per-unit slip frequency. The main significant features of the proposed operating circuit analysis with the per-unit slip frequency as a state variable are that the fast effective solution could be achieved with the simple mathematical computation effort. The operating performance results in the simulation of the single-phase SEIG evaluated by using the per-unit slip frequency state variable are compared with those obtained by using the per-unit frequency state variable. The comparative operating performance results provide the close agreements between two steady-state analysis performance algorithms based on the electro-mechanical equivalent circuit of the single-phase SEIG. In addition to these, the single-phase static VAR compensator; SVC composed of the thyristor controlled reactor; TCR in parallel with the fixed excitation capacitor; FC and the thyristor switched capacitor; TSC is ap-plied to regulate the generated terminal voltage of the single-phase SEIG loaded by a variable inductive passive load. The fixed gain PI controller is employed to adjust the equivalent variable excitation capacitor capacitance of the single-phase SVC.

  • A direct torque control(DTC) based sensorless speed control system which employs a new closed loop flux observer is proposed. The flux observer takes an adaptive scheduling gains where motet speed is used as the scheduling variable. Adaptive nature comes from the fact that the estimated values of stator resistance and speed are included as observer parameters. The parameters of the PI controllers adopted in the adaptive law for the estimation of stator resistance and motor speed are determined by simple genetic algorithm. Simulation results in low speed region are given for comparison between proposed and conventional flux estimate scheme.
