역류방지 글로브 밸브를 이용한 소화 주관계의 진동개선 (Reduction of Fire Main Pipe System's Vibration Using Back Flow Prevent Globe Valve)

  • Main source of URN(Underwater Radiated Noise) which is related to the ship's survivability is divided into two groups. Cavitation is main source of URN when the speed of ship is upper than CIS(Cavitation Inception Speed). But when the speed of ship is lower than CIS, main source of URN is structure-borne noise on the hull which is originated from propulsion system, pump system or transmitted vibration of pipe system. In this paper, to reduce the vibration of discharge pipe and valve system, back flow prevent globe valve and new rubber mount are applied to the ship. As the result of applying new valve and mount, the vibration is reduced drastically.

  • 상수관망에서 다양한 제수밸브 분포간의 우열성 평가는 상수관망의 신뢰성 확보를 위해 필수적이다. 기존 상수관망에 새로운 제수밸브를 추가할 경우나 새로운 상수관망을 건설할 경우, 본 연구에서는 서로 다른 제수밸브 분포간의 우열성을 평가하여 좀 더 효율적인 제수밸브 분포를 선택할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 방법은 상수관 및 제수밸브의 파괴 모의를 바탕으로 하며 제수밸브 분포간의 우열성은 상수관망의 신뢰도를 기준으로 하였다. 상수관망의 신뢰도는 상수관 파괴당 평균적인 단수인구로 나타내지며 충분한 횟수의 상수관 및 제수밸브 파괴모의를 통해서 산정하였다. 제안된 방법의 적용성을 평가하기 위하여 실제 상수관망을 대상으로 새로운 제수밸브를 추가할 경우 두가지 다른 밸브분포를 결정한 후 우열성을 판별하였다. 또한 다양한 제수밸브 신뢰도에 따른 관파괴당 평균단수인구를 산정하여 제수밸브 신뢰도가 상수관망의 신뢰도 향상에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다.

  • Korea District heating corp. recently give an attention to combine the district heating and supply pipes as a two pipe system that are in the present system separated with room heating and warm water supply pipe, and the two pipe system is commonly applied for heating service in European countries. In the new two pipe system, only one heat source is supplied to a house and partitioned into room heating and warm water supply by household substation. So the effective distribution of supplied heat source in accordance to user intention is very important. This paper presents the development and performance test of three-way proportional control valve for a combined heat source system in district heating. The proposed valve is controlled to partition heat source into two different directions : hot water distributor for space heating and household substation for warm water supply in response to the pressure drops of tap water caused by the user. The performance investigation is shown within 3% of error compared to the theoretical model of the three-way proportional valve and its controllability is verified.

  • The Forced vibration characteristics of elastically restrained pipe conveying fluid with the attached mass are investigated in this paper. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the equation of motion is derived by using Hamilton's principle. The effect of attached mass and spring constant on forced vibration of pipe system is studied. Also, the critical flow velocities and stability maps of the valve-pipe system are obtained as each parameters.

  • The forced vibration response characteristics of a cracked pipe conveying fluid with a concentrated mass are investigated in this paper. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the equation of motion is derived by using Hamilton's principle. The effects of concentrated mass and fluid velocity on the forced vibration characteristics of a cracked pipe conveying fluid are studied. The deflection response is the mid-span deflection of a cracked pipe conveying fluid. As fluid velocity and crack depth are increased, the resonance frequency of the system is decreased. This study will contribute to the decision of optimum fluid velocity and crack detection for the valve-pipe systems.

지역난방 증기 터빈 내 조속기 밸브 Inlet pipe 파손 원인 분석 (Failure Analysis of an Inlet Pipe of a Governor Valve in a Steam Turbine of a District Heating System)

  • The objective of this study was to perform failure analysis of an inlet pipe located in a governor valve of a steam turbine in a district heating system. During the operation, the temperature of the governor valve was increased to as high as ~500 ℃, which induced thermal expansion of the inlet pipe along both axial and radial directions. While the inlet pipe did not have contact with the valve seat, the side plane of the upside was constrained by the casing part, which led the inlet pipe to experience stress field in the form of fatigue and creep. The primary crack was initiated at about 30 mm below the top where the complex stress field was anticipated. These results suggest that the main failure mechanism is a combination of thermal fatigue and creep during the operation supported by the observation of apparent beach marks on the fracture surface and pores near the cracks, respectively.

원전용 안전등급 밸브의 현장 폐쇄기밀시험 기술에 대한 연구 (Research on the on-site Seat Test Technology for the nuclear safety related valves)

  • The seat leakage test is required after the maintenance work on the valve seat. Either the test has been performed outside of the plant after cutting the valve from the pipe system or the simplified test has been performed so far. It was unable to perform the test at the plant site because it is hard to make a steady pressure on the valve inlet when it is installed in the pipe. This research aims to perform the leakage test in the nuclear power plant while it is installed in the pipe system. The mock-up test is performed by pressurizing the leak-off pipe on the valve body. The result is compared with traditional test result by pressurizing the valve inlet. Furthermore the chamber mock-up tests are performed under various conditions. The leak rate by the developed test using the leak-off pipe is found to be similar but greater than the leak rate by the existing test method. It implies that the test using the leak-off pipe is more conservative than the existing test. The methodology and the equipment which this paper suggests that on-site seat test is possible and the application of the technology could reduce the time and cost for the valve maintenance work significantly.

Shape Optimization of a Segment Ball Valve Using Metamodels

  • This study presents the optimization design process of a segment ball valve that involves the reduction of the flow resistance coefficient and the satisfaction of the strength requirement. Numerical analysis of fluid flow and structural analysis have been performed to predict the flow resistance coefficient and the maximum stress of a segment ball valve. In this study, a segment ball valve incorporating the advantages of a ball valve and a butterfly valve has been devised. In general, ball valves are installed in a pipe system where tight shut off is required. Butterfly valves having smaller end-to-end dimension than ball valve can be installed in narrow spaces in a pipe system. The metamodels for the shape design of a segment ball valve are built by the response surface method and the Kriging interpolation model.

공동주택 온수난방 시스템의 적정 열공급을 위한 배관망 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Pipe Network for Optimum Heat Supply in the Hot Water Heating System of Apartment House)

  • Pipe network of hot water heat supply system in an apartment house was analyzed. Flowrate and supply heat capacity of each household in which constant flowrate balancing valve is installed in a single zone system were calculated and the results were investigated. In the existing piping system, the non-uniformity of heat supply with floors due to the static pressure and temperature difference between supply main and return main can not be avoided and this tendency get intense with the increase of the height of building. The non-uniformity of heat supply can be prevented by the installation of balancing valve at each household, however if the performance of supply pump is not sufficient to overcome the energy loss due to the installation of balancing valve for constant flow rate or if the selection of the valve capacity is not adequate, the valves will may lose their controllability.
