연료 벤트/릴리프 밸브의 설계 분석 (Design review of fuel vent-relief valve)

  • 우주발사체의 액체추진공급시스템에서 사용되는 연료 벤트/릴리프밸브는 안전밸브의 조합체로 지상에서 연료를 주입할 때와 비행 중에 추진제 탱크의 과압을 해소하는 역할을 한다. 벤트/릴리프밸브는 구동가스 공급에 의해 벤트밸브를 작동시키는 벤트모드와 설정된 압력을 유지하기 위해 자동으로 밸브를 개폐하는 릴리프모드로 작동한다. 본 논문에서는 해외발사체에 사용된(Saturn) 벤트/릴리프밸브 샘플을 이용하여 한국형발사체의 규격에 적용한 밸브 설계를 검토하였다. 또한 설계 검증 및 기본적인 작동 특성을 분석하기 위해 AMESim 상용코드를 이용하여 해석 모델을 구성하였다. 밸브 모델을 이용해서 동특성 해석을 수행하여 설계 변수에 대해 밸브 개폐 작동시간, 작동성능, 개폐압력을 예상하였다. 이를 통해 연료 벤트/릴리프밸브 설계변수에 따른 작동성을 파악하여 시제품 제작 전 의 상세설계 및 설계 경계조건을 제시하였다.

공기압 서보 시스템의 위치 제어 및 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Position Control and Simulation of Pneumatic Servo System)

  • An experimental and theoretical study on a pneumatic servo system has been conducted using on-off valves and a pneumatic cylinder. A V/I converter has been designed for rapid rising and falling of the solenoid current, which significantly improves the positioning accuracy and settling time of the servo system by shortening the valve opening time. Pulse width modulation was modified to operate on-off valves effectively. A state feedback controller which feeds back position, velocity and acceleration is used to control the system. The influence of controller gains on the system performance is studied to develop a scheme that automatically adjusts the gains using fuzzy logic theory. It is shown experimentally that the proposed fuzzy logic tuner works satisfactorily. A new method for measurements of valve effective areas is proposed, and a partially polytropic model is applied to simulation of the pneumatic system. Simulated results show good agreement with experimental data.

산업용 안전 릴리프밸브 유동특성에 관한 수치연구 (A Numerical Study on the Flow Characteristics through an Industrial Safety Relief Valve)

  • In this paper, the flow characteristics through an industrial safety relief valve used to protect the crankcase room in a large-sized marine engine have been numerically investigated using the moving-mesh strategy. With the room pressure higher than the cracking one, the spring-loaded disc becomes open and then the air in the room blows off into the atmosphere, resulting in the reduction of the room pressure and then the shutoff of the disc. Numerical simulations are performed on the compressible air flow through the relief valve (${\phi}160mm$) with the initial room pressure (0.11 bar or 0.12bar) higher than the cracking one (0.1 bar). The numerical method has been validated by comparing the results with the empirical ones. Results show that the disc motion and flow characteristics can be successfully simulated using the moving-mesh strategy and depend strongly on the spring stiffness and the flow passage shape. With increasing spring stiffness, the maximum disc displacement decreases and thus the total disc-opening time also decreases. In addition, the flow passage shape makes a significant effect on the velocity and direction of the flow.

소방용수시설의 공설소화전 종류에 따른 사용 준비시간 비교분석 (Comparison Analysis of Ready to Use Time Depending on The Type of Public Fire Hydrant of Fire-fighting Water Facility)

  • 이 연구는 공설소화전에 대한 지상식 및 지하식 소화전의 소방용수 사용 준비시간을 분석하였다. 1단계인 장비 준비시간은 지상식은 20.50초, 지하식은 24.67로 나타났다. 이와 같이 준비시간이 다소 차이가 난 것은 지하식 소화전은 맨홀 뚜껑을 개방하는 빠루와 지하식 소화전 본체 관구에 연결하기 위하여 스탠드 파이프가 추가로 필요했기 때문이다. 2단계인 물탱크차의 보수구에 숫커플링의 수관결합은 지상식은 48.50초, 지하식은 49.00초로 비슷하게 나타났다. 이것은 물탱크차 보수구에 소방호스를 연결하는 동작이 같기 때문이다. 3단계인 본체 관구에 수관 결합은 지상식은 43초, 지하식은 174.33초로 나타났는데 이와 같이 수관을 소화전 관구에 연결하는 시간이 큰 차이가 난 것은 지하식 소화전은 맨홀 뚜껑을 개방한 후 소화전 본체 관구에 스텐드 파이프를 연결한 후에, 스텐드 파이프 관구에 수관을 결합하는 추가 과정이 필요하여 소요시간을 크게 올린 것으로 판단된다. 4단계인 제수 밸브와 스핀들 개방은 지상식은 66.50초, 지하식은 78.83초 소요되었다. 이 같은 차이가 난 것은 지상식 소화전의 스핀들은 본체 관구위에 위치하여 쉽게 개방이 가능하지만, 지하식은 맨홀 아래 관구 옆에 위치하여 개방 장비인 복스퍼너를 연결하는 추가시간이 필요하여 나타난 결과로 판단된다.

  • 중수로 일차냉각재계통 액체방출밸브의 개방압력에 대한 안전여유 및 시간지연을 반영하여 열수력코드로 경년열화가 반영된 노심에 대해 민감도를 평가하였다. 과거에는 안전해석을 수행할 때 안전여유와 시간지연을 반영하여 평가하지 않았으나, 월성1호기 안전해석 인허가 심사과정중 반영 평가하였다. 중수로 안전해석에서 압력경계는 일차냉각재계통 액체방출밸브이다. 따라서 액체방출밸브 응동이 안전해석에 직접적인 영향을 주므로 안전여유와 시간지연 부가가 안전해석 결과에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 해석에 반영하기 위해 일차냉각재계통 과압이 걸리는 사고들에 대해 평가하였다.

  • In recent years, modularization of engine parts has increased the application of plastic products in air intake systems. Plastic intake manifolds provide many advantages including reduced weight, contracted cost, and lower intake air temperatures. These manifolds, however, have some weakness when compared with customary aluminium intake manifolds, in that they have low sound transmission loss because of their lower material density. This low transmission loss of plastic intake manifolds causes several problems related to flow noise, especially when the throttle is opened quickly. The physical processes, responsible for this flow noise, include turbulent fluid motion and relative motion of the throttle to the airflow. The former is generated by high-speed airflow in the splits between the throttle valve and the inner-surface of the throttle body and surge-tank, which can be categorized into the quadrupole source. The latter induces the unsteady force on the flow, which can be classified into the dipole source. In this paper, the mechanism of noise generation from the turbulence is only investigated as a preliminary study. Stochastic noise source synthesis method is adopted for the analysis of turbulence-induced, i.e. quadrupole noise by throttle at quick opening state. The method consists of three procedures. The first step corresponds to the preliminary time-averaged Navier-Stokes computation with a $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model providing mean flow field characteristics. The second step is the synthesis of time-dependent turbulent velocity field associated with quadrupole noise sources. The final step is devoted to the determination of acoustic source terms associated with turbulent velocity. For the first step, we used market available analysis tools such as STAR-CD, the trade names of fluid analysis tools available on the market. The steady state flows at three open angle of throttle valve, i.e. 20, 35 and 60 degree, are numerically analyzed. Then, time-dependent turbulent velocity fields are produced by using the stochastic model and the flow analysis results. Using this turbulent velocity field, the turbulence-originated noise sources, i.e. the self-noise and shear-noise sources are synthesized. Based on these numerical results, it is found that the origin of the turbulent flow and noise might be attributed to the process of formulation and the interaction of two vortex lines formed in the downstream of the throttle valve. These vortex lines are produced by the non-uniform splits between the throttle valve and inner cylinder surface. Based on the analysis, we present the low-noise design of the inner geometry of throttle body.

PR형 공압 머니퓰레이터의 위치서보제어 (Position servo control of a PR type pneumatic manipulator)

  • This paper concerns a 2-axis PR type pneumatic manipulator system translating in vertical and rotating in horizontal directions. A simplified linear model is mathematically formulated similar to the pneumatic acturators in dynamic responses in order to devise an appropriate position control scheme. A PD controller preceding the on/off solenoid valve turns out not only economical but also effective in reducing rise time and amplitude of limit cycles, if its control gains are determined on the basis of frequency response. And, additional implementation of symmetric or asymmetric deadband at the PD controller output greatly helps minimize valve opening numbers, positional error, and undesirable direction-dependent property due to the gravitational load. Such a control concept is synthesized through numerical simulations and next applied to the experimental set-up, featuring enhanced positional servo characteristics.

배기 Hydrocarbon의 생성과정에 과한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the mechanism of hydrocarbon emissions)

  • The formation process of hydrocarbon emissions was investigated in SI engine. The time- resolved concentrations of hydrocarbon emissions were measured using a high gas sampling valve and a gas chromatography. The gas was sampled at exhaust port, or the position of spark plug, or the wall of combustion chamber. The experiments were conducted using the Alpha engine of Hyundai Motor Company. The fuel used was methanol or propane. It was found that the effect of the quenching layer of combustion chamber wall on hydrocarbon emissions was not significant. The increasing rate of hydrocarbon concentration at combustion chamber wall near crevice and oil layer after flame was reached was much higher than that at the position of spark plug. The hydrocarbon concentrations at exhaust port had two peak values just after opening exhaust valve and just before closing it.

Superheat Control of an Inverter-driven Heat Pump Using PI Control Algorithm

  • The performance of an inverter-driven water-to-water heat pump with an electronic expansion valve (EEV) was measured as a function of compressor frequency, load conditions, and EEV opening. Based on the test results, a controller using proportional integral (PI) feedback or PI feedforward algorithm was designed and tested to investigate capacity modulation and transient response control of the system. Although the relation between superheat and EEV opening of the heat pump showed nonlinear characteristics, a control gain obtained at the rated frequency was applicable to various operating conditions without causing large deviations. When the simple PI feedback control algorithm was applied, a large overshoot of superheat and wet compression were observed due to time delay effects of compressor frequency. However, applying PI feedforward control scheme yielded better system performance and higher reliability, compared to the PI feedback algorithm.

  • 발사체의 추진공급계 시스템에서 사용되는 충전/배출 밸브는 지상에서 작동하며 구동가스 공급에 의해 극저온 산화제를 산화제 탱크에 주입 또는 배출하는 역할을 한다. 유즈노이사에서 설계한 산화제 충전/배출 밸브의 설계 자료를 검토하여 수정하였다. 충전/배출 밸브의 제작에 앞서 설계 검증 및 기본적인 작동 특성을 분석하기 위해 AMESim 상용코드를 이용하여 해석 모델을 구성하였다. 밸브 모델을 이용해서 설계 변수에 대해 동특성 해석을 수행하여 밸브 개폐 작동 시간, 작동 성능, 개방 압력을 예상하였다. 본 연구 결과는 한국형 발사체 추진공급계 충전/배출 밸브의 설계 및 선행 연구에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
