수력댐 비상방류밸브의 선정조건에 관한 연구 (The Study of the Decision Criteria for the Urgency Released Valve in Hydraulic Dam)

  • In general, the hollow jet valve, the fixed cone valve had been used for the urgency released or maintenance of the flow rate. Nowadays, the butterfly valve, the gate valve are applied in economic performance and operation maintenance more than the hollow jet valve, the fixed cone valve. However, in the case of butterfly valve, it should be required the strict application standard to the cavitation coefficient because the structural axis and disk were situated in pipe channel and the occurring the shock problem by Karman Vortex. And, the judgment data for choice were slight lowdown in water supply and drainage facilities standard or Japanese penstock technology standard, various standard of KOWACO etc. Therefore. there were investigated the valve inside phenomenon (cavitation, disk chattering, vibration) by velocity of flow and the stability examination of body by high velocity of flow through flow scale model test using the numerical analysis and PIV to establish the applicable extensibility of the butterfly valve for the urgency released valve.

원관내 버터플라이 밸브 후류에 대한 수치해석 및 실험적 연구 (Numerical and Experimental Study on the Wake Flow of a Butterfly-Type Valve)

  • In this paper, flow in the wake region of a butterfly valve is studied numerically and experimentally. The disk angle of the valve is fixed as $30^{\circ}$ and the free stream velocity as 0.13m/s in the experiment. Numerical analysis is performed in similitude of the experiment. The standard LES model is used to represent the turbulence effect in the commercial code Fluent 5.5. It is shown that the numerical result is similar to the experimental result for the wake flow of a butterfly-type valve.

  • The safety valve is the important equipment used to protect the pressure vessel and pressure facilities from overpressure by discharging the operation medium when the pressure of system is reaching the design pressure of the system. Some materials for a safety valve disk are studied in this paper. A studied safety valve has to resist sulfurous acid and nitric acid. etc. Furthermore teflon which is a general material of the valve easily sticks to a disk and a sliding part of the valve by thermal expansion. Therefore both teflon and stainless-steel are used to improve these problems. The analysis of the thermal expansion is conducted with commercial FEM software to improve the problems. Boundary conditions were temperature and load in this study. From the analysis, the thermal expansion of by teflon/stainless steel-made valve is lower than that of teflon-made valve under high temperature. Thus, teflon/stainless steel-made valve is safe and no malfunction by thermal expansion.

  • This study have goal with conceptual design for offshore structures of high pressure drop control valve for localization valve for development accomplished with flow analysis based on provision of ANSI B16.34, ANSI B16.10, ANSI B16.25. In order to localize the Offshore structures high pressure drop control valve. This study is numerical analysis for zambil offshore project of high pressure drop control valve. The solver which ANSYS workbench used for offshore structures analysis. The working fluids assumed the glycerin(C3H8O3). The structural analysis used ANSYS which is a commercial code. Stress analysis result of internal pressure in valve showed lower than yield strength. This is expect to need more detail design and verification for stem and disk structure. In this study a multi-disk of high pressure drop control valve is designed and manufactured. Then, the flow rate and high pressure dorp of fluids flowing in the high pressure drop control valve is CAE. So, this system can be easily substituted for the existing zambil offshore project system. Finally, safety estimation for trim design of high pressure drop control valve for offshore structures.

기계식 인공 판막 주위의 유연성 구조가 표면 괴식에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Compliance Structures Near the Mechanical Heart Valve on Valve Surface Erosion)

  • 1980년대에 동물과 인체에 이식한 기계식 인공 판막으로부터 핏트(pit)가 발견된 이래 그 원인으로 캐비테이션 현상이 주목받고 있다. 심실 압력 구배(dp/dt), 최대 폐쇄속도, 스퀴즈 유동 등과 같은 다양한 요소가 캐비테이션 발생의 임계값으로 연구되고 있다. 현재에는 기계식 판막의 표면 괴식의 원인으로서는 폐쇄직전에 발생하는 스퀴즈 유동과 수격현상 등이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자연 심장에 비교적 가까운 압력 조건하에서 강체 홀더와 유연성을 부가한 홀더를 이용하여 모델 밸브의 디스크의 폐쇄 운동 및 밸브 표면 부위의 압력 변화를 측정하였다 실험 결과 모든 홀더에서 디스크 표면 근처에서 수증기 압력 이하의 압력 저하가 예상되었다. 또한 폐쇄 직전의 속도가 증가할수록 밸브의 표면 괴식도 증가하였다. 이들의 결과로부터 폐쇄 직전의 판막의 속도가 표면 괴식에 큰 영향을 미친다고 생각됐다.

  • Compressible flow characteristics in a butterfly valve is studied experimentally and numerically. The disk angle of the valve is changed as $0^{\circ}{\sim}30^{\circ}$. The SST model is used to represent the turbulent effect in the commercial code, CFX11. It was found that the numerical results are similar to the experimental ones, general discussions are given to the pressure distributions upon the disk angle of the valve.

  • This paper represents solenoid design of control valve for incline angle control in variable compressor. Some theoretical and numerical analysis were performed to analyse solenoid and compared with experimental results. Maxwell program was used for numerical analysis. Through redesigns of housing body, plunger, core, and disk in control valve, the needed force was gotten. Reduction of core groove and housing body air-gap had a large influence on magnetic force. But increasing of disk thickness had little effect on magnetic force. Control valve efficiency could be improved through solenoid redesign.

배관용 틸팅디스크 체크밸브의 손실저항 절감에 관한 연구 (Study on Loss Reduction for Tilting Disk Check Valve Installed in Piping System)

  • In generally, under the influence of over-pressure drop, serious problems such as cavitation, choked flow, flashing and vibration has been coming around the tilting disk check valve. A PIV experiment to examine the cause of energy loss has been performed and the improvement configuration of valve seat based on this visualization results is proposed. In the visualization results, flows in the piping system became instability under the influence of the shape of boss. This unstable flows induces sudden pressure drop in the piping system. So, we change the configuration of boss as a streamlined design to be stabilized the flows. A pressure measurement has been performed to know that the influence of the configuration change. In result, the rate of pressure loss reduction is about 22% at the position of No. 2 and 24.2% at the position of No. 6 in comparison with pre-improved shape.

  • EPRI PPM (Performance Prediction Methodology), a method used for the prediction of required thrust of valves, can not be applied to unbalanced-disk globe valves operated in the fluid when the fluid temperature is above $150^{\circ}F$ because the thrust increase caused by the friction between the valve disk and body is not considered in the PPM. In order to apply PPM to the valves, EPRI suggested new friction prediction method to be added in the code. This paper analyzes the applicability of the prediction method comparing the disk-to-body friction load predicted from the method with the measured friction load from the field tests. The maximum values from the prediction method and those obtained from the test were 268lbs and about 1500lbs, respectively. It is included that the prediction method should be improved for the realistic prediction of disk-to-body friction load.
