The Marketing Strategy to Stimulate Customer's Interest in Art-Gallery Business Plan

  • Purpose: Through strategic marketing, art galleries can help retain the artistic value in an extensively urbanized world and also provide a means to showcase aspirational messages that artworks attempt to portray. The purpose of the current study is to analyze a marketing strategy for an art gallery based on prior marketing theories. Research design, data and methodology: Scant research is available to guide regarding what elements of marketing theories should be applied to accomplish customer satisfaction in an art gallery business plan. Thus, the present authors suggest more specific marketing strategy using four traditional marketing theories for practitioners who conduct business planning strategy in an art gallery. Results: The current study suggests the synthesized model for a successful business plan of an art gallery and figured out that two distinctive segments through marketing mix and SWOT analysis are ideal because it would be easier to meet visitors' aesthetic tastes while still meeting organizational objectives. Conclusions: As all other businesses, art galleries have to adapt to survive by innovating some of the components of the marketing mix to create a competitive advantage. It also requires a strategy for that combines targeting and segmenting with the incorporation of the marketing mix to attain competitiveness.

  • In this paper, we investigate the economic repercussion effects of the domestic satellite industry. The market size of the satellite industry between 2005 and 2009 is forecasted based on the world market forecast. By using the Input-Output analysis technique, three kinds of repercussion effects (domestic production, value added, workers induced by the satellite industry) between 2005 and 2009 are calculated.

Kernel-based actor-critic approach with applications

  • Recently, actor-critic methods have drawn significant interests in the area of reinforcement learning, and several algorithms have been studied along the line of the actor-critic strategy. In this paper, we consider a new type of actor-critic algorithms employing the kernel methods, which have recently shown to be very effective tools in the various fields of machine learning, and have performed investigations on combining the actor-critic strategy together with kernel methods. More specifically, this paper studies actor-critic algorithms utilizing the kernel-based least-squares estimation and policy gradient, and in its critic's part, the study uses a sliding-window-based kernel least-squares method, which leads to a fast and efficient value-function-estimation in a nonparametric setting. The applicability of the considered algorithms is illustrated via a robot locomotion problem and a tunnel ventilation control problem.

  • For a continuous revenue increase, a new scheme to increase sale volume is a necessity. This new scheme is based on a revaluation of the customer value for the sake of the future of a company. The concept and use of CRM and OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) are introduced in this report. The effectiveness of OLAP-based CRM is demonstrated through a case study of a typical retail company. The research suggests the need for the establishment of a marketing strategy to build a long-term relationship with individual customers. The needs for a scientific and systematic analysis of the industry, competitors and customers are elaborated.

  • 오늘날 고객과 정보와 서비스를 결합하는 디지털전환은 산업전체의 판도를 바꾸는 새로운 비즈니스 모델이 등장하며, 고객의 가치를 창출하는 핵심 경쟁력으로 제시되었다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 숙박정보를 제공하는 앱서비스 사례를 기반으로 디지털전환이 기업에 미치는 영향력을 분석하여 경쟁우위요인을 도출하하였다. 본 사례연구는 숙박예약서비스 산업에서 디지털전환시운영프로세스에서 사용자의 참여를 확대하고, 그 과정에서 사용자에게 새로운 선호요인을 제안하여 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는 서비스방안을 분석하였다. 분석결과, S사의 5가지 경쟁요인 분석을 통해 운영프로세스 상에서의 고객서비스 가치 모델을 도출하였다. 본 연구 결과는 서비스산업에서 디지털전환 시 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

선물시장에서 거래확률 조정을 통한 자산운용 투자전략 모델에 관한 연구 (A study on asset management investment strategy model by trade probability control on futures market)

  • 최근 국내 기관 투자자들을 중심으로 전통적 투자대상으로부터의 수익이 하락추세에 있어 기관 투자자들이 적극적 자산운용을 기피할 경우, 장기적으로 안정적 수익보장을 유지하기 어렵다는 우려가 제기되었다. 이에 보유자산 구성을 조정한 수익성 개선전략의 요구가 증대되고 있으며, 일부 기관 투자자들은 헤지펀드를 기존 포트폴리오에 편입시킴으로써 운용수익률을 제고하려는 움직임을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 시스템트레이딩을 이용하여 선물시장에서 거래확률 조정을 통한 헤지펀드 투자전략을 제시하고자 한다. 선물시장에서 사용되는 다양한 기술적 지표를 이용하여 연관성 규칙(association rule)을 생성하고 이를 거래규칙(trading rule)으로 전환하여 투자전략으로 활용한다. 한편 연관성 규칙은 기술적 지표의 개수와 개별 지표들의 구간값의 조합으로 생성되며, 조합에 따라 거래확률을 조정함으로써 위험관리가 가능한 투자전략을 수립하는데 사용된다. 제시된 전략의 우수성을 입증하기 위해 KOSPI 200 연결선물데이터를 이용하여 수익성 분석을 수행하였으며, 분석결과 제시된 투자전략이 투자위험관리에 효과적임을 보였다.

모바일 콘텐츠 서비스에 대한 인지된 사용자 가치 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Determinants of Users' Perceived Value on Mobile Contents Service)

  • Recently, mobile internet technologies are enabling the possibility of radically new computing services which can share information and communicate with others on the move. In this situation, prior studies have attempted to identify of what factors make people use mobile internet. However, prior researches focused on investigating the factors affecting users' adoption to Mobile Internet. In order to offer beneficial materials to mobile internet companies, we investigated important factors to increase mobile users' value from the viewpoints of customer. In particular, this study was progressed how characteristics of mobile contents affect users' intrinsic attributes and how perceived users' network effects affect users' value in the mobile computing environments. To empirically test proposed hypotheses, we have analyzed 285 survey data gathering from mobile internet users and verified hypotheses by using SEM (structural equation modeling). Based on the results of this study, we found that content accessibility and content quality have significant impacts on users' intrinsic attributes such as perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. In addition, this study also revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment were positively related to users' emotional value. Moreover, this study found that perceived users' network effects could affect users' monetary value by mediating expected benefits. Based on our findings, we can understand that this perspective can provide a deeper understanding of the mobile users' value adoption by bridging the gap between mobile internet studies and actual practice.

  • The strategy through visual sense is one of the ways that subject builds the outside world and communicates. The visual sense seems higher level of dependence than the other senses and contributes to intercommunication. For this reason, the desire of image dates back to primitive art and visual image(visual media and visual culture) has dialectically developed in the history of mankind. Visual subject, based on perspective of Renaissance, was moved from God to human beings. Andre Bazin's 'la genese automatique' through technical art has epochally changed the paradigm of visual art and visual culture. From primitive art to photo and film, the image, based on visual sense, has reflected human wish, appealed visual desire and led to evolution of image. In the late 20 century, without dialectical evolution of technology and culture, rapidly progressive digital image has changed social and cultural implication over rational strategy of production and distribution and it strengthened authority of image through visual approach of endless desire. The goal of this study is to analyze the value change of digital image developing a new Renaissance through production, reading, communication, and implication of evolution due to digitalized image, which has evolved as object and tool of desire.

  • This paper deals with a strategy of gain optimization for the kinematic control algorithm of a wire-driven surgical robot. The proposed controller consists of the closed-loop inverse kinematics with the back-calculation method. The closed-loop inverse kinematics has 18 PID control gains, and the back-calculation method has 6 gains. An efficient strategy is designed to optimize 18 values first and then the remaining 6 values. The optimal gain sets are searched under the step input with performance indices. In this gain optimization, the objective function is defined as the minimum value of signal-to-noise ratio of the performance indices for 6 DoF (Degree-of-Freedom) motion that is based on the Taguchi method, and the constraints are applied to obtain stable responses for each motion evenly. The gain sets obtained are verified by simulations using the test trajectories. In comparative results, the optimal gain value based on the performance index combined with ISE (integral of square error) and settling time showed the best control performance.

Practical Issues of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Construction

  • Cost, schedule, and quality are the three major performance indicators for any construction project. Under the globalized competition in the nuclear industry, researchers and practitioners have also explored a systemized and integrated management system for cost, schedule, and quality. In order to address this issue, the concept of earned value management system (EVMS) has been often utilized. However, implementing EVMS for a mega-project of nuclear power plant (NPP) construction requires extensive overhead efforts. Though previous studies proposed structures and methods for effective NPP EVMS, there has been no legitimate study for data collection strategy for practical implementation. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to develop an effective data collection strategy for NPP EVMS. Firstly, the barriers to practical NPP EVMS were identified based on literature review and expert interviews. Strategies for data collection were then developed based on different phases of project life cycle. This study focuses on the 'life-cycle integrated progress management system' for NPP construction from an owner's perspective Therefore, results of this study can be used as a guide for preparing request for proposals (RFP) of an NPP owner organization.
