It holds rank one according to GDP per capita, $41,541 in 2005. In Korea, the coefficient of national intellectual capital efficiency is 1.321 while that of value added intellectual capital is 4.733. However, the national intellectual capital efficiency of Japan, 1.271 is in opposition to the created high of vale added, 5.695. • Intellectual Capital, a valuable intangible organizational asset, is primarily linked to a company's financial performance and is divided into three categories: human, structural, and relational capital. This paper investigates the impact of intellectual capital on the financial performance of selected Pakistani companies in the Information and Communication sector, as this sector is heavily reliant on intellectual capital. The data for 11 firms was gathered from the State Bank's Financial Statements Analysis of Companies Listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2020. Pulić's (2004) Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAICTM) has been used to assess a company's IC efficiency. VAICTM and its components, the efficiency of intellectual capital, and the efficiency of capital employed are calculated. Financial performance is measured through return on assets, return on capital employed, and asset turnover ratio. Multiple regression, fixed-effect, and random-effect Panel Data estimation are used in the empirical study. The findings suggest that intellectual capital efficiency has a large impact on major profitability metrics, but little effect on company productivity. It can be inferred from the results that the companies must invest in advanced technology, the latest machinery, and well-equipped offices to improve financial performance and productivity and gain a competitive advantage.

  • This study aims to analyze the impact of the company's financial performance in mediating the relationship between Intellectual Capital and GCG on Corporate Value in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Also, this study analyzes the direct effect of intellectual capital and GCG on corporate value and the indirect effect through the company's financial performance. This study develops research of Chen et al. (2005) and measures Intellectual Capital with VAIC (Pulic, 1998). VAIC model is more accurate to measure Intellectual Capital because it can show potential intellectual use efficiently. The data used are banking companies listed on the IDX in 2014-2016 with purposive sampling technique and Data Analysis Technique used are path analysis. The results showed that the financial performance of banking companies was proven to mediate the relationship between intellectual capital and GCG. The role of GCG that can improve financial performance and corporate value is only GCG as measured by the ratio of independent commissioners and audit quality. Meanwhile, the financial performance and corporate value audited by the Big 4 will be greater than the financial performance and corporate value of the banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that are not audited by the Big 4.

  • This study measures the efficiency of intellectual capital of Korea's banks, financial investment companies, and insurance companies using the Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAICTM) model, which was developed by A. Pulic and investigates into the relationship of each of VAIC's elements - efficiency of human, structural, and material capital -with business performance of the institution. we found, first, average VAIC and human capital efficiency(HCE) of Korean financial institutions during 2001 - 2012 were highest among banks, followed by insurance companies and securities firm. Secondly, in general, banks in advanced countries tend to have higher HCE and VAIC compared with the banks of developing countries. Thirdly, Korean financial institutions' HCE and VAIC are lower than those of Australia and even Taiwan and Thailand and have been on the decrease in recent years. This suggests that Korean financial institutions should enhance VAIC and HCE to build-up the international competitiveness.

  • This study aimed to identify the key factors that affect the financial market performance (Price-Earnings Model) through a sample of 35 public shareholding industrial companies on the Amman Stock Exchange for the period 2010-2019, using statistical models and methods, such as the Simple Linear Regression Model, Correlation Coefficient, and dispersion board. The study results showed the nonexistence of a statistically significant effect between the intellectual capital and market value added (MVA) and market performance. Results also showed a statistically significant positive effect between financial leverage (FL) and the market performance, where the interpreted variation reached 64%. It showed from the analysis results that the relationship between (MVA) and market performance (P/E) agrees with the study hypotheses, while the result related to (FL) disagrees with the study hypotheses. The study recommends that public shareholding industrial companies should focus more on intellectual capital and show its value in the annual financial statements and reports, and those companies that have high profitability and the chance to hold gains and profits should rely less on debt and more on retained earnings, due to the high risk of debt and in line with the present unstable circumstances in Jordan, especially in light of the global Covid-19 crisis.

  • In today's knowledge-based economy, measurement and disclosure (M&D) of intellectual capital (IC) are crucial for enhancing business performance and competitiveness. In the global world, M&D of IC are useful means to keep investors well-informed and reduce information asymmetry. At present, very few leading corporations in India have disclosed IC information on a 'voluntary' basis. Traditional accounting practices, therefore, will need to assimilate innovations that seek to meaningfully represent the 'true-value' of the intangible assets of the company. This is an exploratory study of IC M&D by 8 Indian companies over 5-year period, using 'content' analysis and market-value-added (MVA) as research methodologies. The annual reports of companies were collected from their respective websites. As part of present study, various statistical techniques have been used to analyze the data. The findings show that the sample companies, on an average, reported a positive value of IC, along with wide-disparity, low-level of ICD. Unfortunately, the omission of IC information may adversely influence the quality of decisions made by shareholders, or lead to material misstatements. Finally, we recommend to "the international accounting bodies, to take the lead by establishing a harmonized ICD standard, and provide guidance to the big listed-companies for proper measurement and disclosure of IC, both for internal and external users."

  • The aim of this study is to answer the straightforward question of whether the implementation of IC has fueled non-interest incomes of banks or not. By utilizing the data of 26 domestic banks in Vietnam and employing the value-added intellectual coefficient model (VAIC) as the measure of IC efficiency, our empirical evidence manifests that IC plays a vital role in fostering non-interest incomes of banks. When dividing VAIC into different components, we find that structure capital employed (SCE) is the most important component to enhance the expansion of these incomes compared with other components including capital employed efficiency (CEE), human capital efficiency (HCE). These findings remain unchanged through some robustness tests performed. While the main driver of IC and SCE, CEE component becomes a substantial advantage to increase non-interest incomes in large banks. Meanwhile, the degree of impact of SCE is higher in small banks compared with large ones. Overall, this study would provide a deep insight into the role of IC in the transformation into non-interest income activities of banks in an emerging country, and therefore our findings would be useful for both scholars and policy-makers in Vietnam, where has undergone the period of major reforms in banking system.
