  • 마이크로 인공위성에 적용 가능한 마이크로 추력기를 개발하기 위해서는 고고도 환경을 모사할 수 있는 진공설비가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 $10^{-5}$ torr의 진공도를 유지할 수 있는 진공설비를 구축하였고, 이 장비는 100${/sim}$120 km의 고도를 모사할 것으로 기대된다. 장치 선정 및 실제 장치 구축 후 진공도 성능 실험을 수행하였고 저진공 펌프를 작동시켜 마이크로 노즐의 성능 실험을 수행, 결과를 비교 분석하였다.

  • In general, we utilize momentum wheel to control spacecraft. It needs vacuum test to analyze the effect of space environments. The conventional vacuum connector which is composed of steel has problems for test with built in momentum wheel because of weight, thermal expansion, etc. We suggest possibility to manufacture the vacuum connector using aluminum mount, epoxy and industrial D-Sub considering cost, weight. We verify the performance through vacuum test.

루츠형 중진공펌프 국산화 개발 (Development of Localized Roots Type Medium-Vacuum Pump)

  • Due to a roots type medium vacuum pump is operated in condition of $1{\sim}10^{-3}$ torr vacuum, it could be applied for production and process of industrial parts, such as precise processing, vaporization, enrichment, separation, casting, metaling, welding, transportation. Therefore, the demand of this pump is increasing nowadays in our industrial markets of semiconductor, electric, electronic, automobile, material, environmental and transporting industries. However, the pumps are almost imported, because the domestic pumps are inferior in fields of vacuum range as under $10^{-1}$torr, relevant techniques(design, fabrication, casting, test, etc.) to the imported ones. In this study, essential parts of the development pump are designed with using of CFD and 3D decodes, FEM for analysing strength and deformation, generated heat, vibration and noise control, and are casted with using of mechanochemistry techniques for decreasing of weights, increasing of heat resistances and abrasion durability of materials for pump caing and impellers especially. Besides, in order to achieve ultimate vacuum around $10^{-3}$torr, this pump is composed of 6 stages, among which 1st stage is operated separately from remained stages. Additionally, a test rig for prototype pumps(300$m^3/h$ and 2,500$m^3/h$) is designed and procured as to apply for multi-staged rootz type vacuum pump, with modification of the test method recommended by KS B 6314 "Positive-displacement oil-sealed rotary vacuum pumps".

  • Design and test results of a VRAG(Vacuum Rotary Arc Gap) switch were presented. To control the damage of electrodes caused by the vacuum arc, Lorentz's force by the radial magnetic field between spiral electrodes was used to rotate the vacuum uc. VRAG switch electrodes were made of the material of CuCr and OFHC. Gap distance between two spiral type electrodes for the rotation of the arc discharge is 8, 10, 12mm. In the cathode, one trigger electrode was inserted into each spiral wing. Normal operation of the VRAG switch was confirmed with 10.6[$mutextrm{s}$]of trigger delay and 2~3[$mutextrm{s}$] of the jitter time. The speed of the vacuum arc was measured to be 0.6 ~ 1[km/s] by a motion analyzer.

  • Vacuum interrupters in order to be used in various switch-gear components such as circuit breakers, distribution switches, contactors, etc. spread the arc uniformly over the surface of the contacts. The electrodes of vacuum interrupters are made of sinter-forged Cu-Cr materials for good electrical and mechanical characteristics. Since the closing velocity is 1-2m/s and impact deformation of the electrode depends on the strain rate at that velocity, the dynamic behavior of the sinter-forged Cu-Cr is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at intermediate strain rate is obtained from the high speed tensile test machine test and at the high strain rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook model as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of the electrodes. The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the amount of chromium content.

  • 인공위성의 열제어는 인공위성이 운용궤도상에서 겪는 고진공, 극한의 온도변화 환경에서 위성 구성품의 온도변화를 허용한계 온도 범위 내에서 유지하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 저궤도 관측위성(LEO)의 광학탑재체에 대한 열해석 과정으로 열진공 시험 조건, 열진공 챔버의 형상, 위성 탑재체 내부의 열적 환경을 고려하여 열해석 모델을 구성하고 궤도 조건에 따른 열해석을 수행하였다. 또한 광학탑재체의 지상 열진공 시험 조건에 따른 열해석 수행하여 열진공 시험을 위한 시험조건을 정립하였다.

  • As an alternative to traditional life testing, degradation tests can be effective in assessing product reliability when measurements of degradation leading to failure can be observed. This article presents an accelerated degradation testing for vacuum fluorescent displays (VFDs). The accelerated degradation model is based on Arrhenius-lifetime relationship for cathode temperatures. We compare the results between accelerated degradation test and test at normal use condition. Accelerated degradation test for display devices is observed as an efficient method to warrantee product reliability to customers, as well as a tool to save time and costs.

단열성 시험 방법을 통한 진공유리의 구성 및 필러 배치에 따른 열 성능 평가 (The Evaluation of Thermal Performance of Vacuum Glazing by Composition and the Pillar Arrangement through Test Method of Thermal Resistance)

  • The advanced counties effort to the supplement of the zero energy buildings for the global building energy saving. In the middle of the development of passive technology, the government has to effort to the energy saving of buildings by enhanced performance of the window thermal insulation. By the method of enhanced performance of window thermal insulation, the use of vacuum double glazing saves the energy consumption in building. This glazing has low U-value(heat transmission coefficient) than normal double glazing. The vacuum glazing enhanced thermal insulation performance by vacuum space of between the glass and glass. For this vacuum glazing, pillar maintain the space between glass and glass. But this structure cause the raising the heat transmission coefficient in pillar approaching glass. This study confirmed the U-value by the test method of thermal resistance for windows and doors. Also this study confirmed the variation of heat transmission coefficient by the structure of vacuum glazing. And this study measured the surface temperature of the vacuum glazing about pillar approaching glass and vacuum space in cool chamber and hot box. That result, this study confirmed U-value of $0.422W/m^2{\cdot}K$ of vacuum glazing. Also this study confirmed U-value of $0.300{\sim}0.422W/m^2{\cdot}K$ by various the structure of vacuum glazing. And this study confirmed the heat flow in pillar approaching glass.

정지궤도 위성의 열평형 시험 모델링 및 예비 예측 (THERMAL BALANCE MODELLING AND PREDICTION FOR A GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITE)

  • COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) is a geostationary satellite and has been developing by KARI for communication, ocean and meteorological observations. It will be tested under vacuum condition and very low temperature in order to verify thermal design of COMS. The test will be performed by using KARI large thermal vacuum chamber, which was developed by KARI, and the COMS will be the first flight satellite tested in this chamber. The purposes of thermal balance test are to correlate analytical model used for design evaluation and predicting temperatures, and to verify and adjust thermal control concept. KARI has plan to use heating plates to simulate space hot condition especially for radiator panels such as north and south panels. They will be controlled from 90K to 273K by circulating GN2 and LN2 alternatively according to the test phases, while the shroud of the vacuum chamber will be under constant temperature, 90K, during all thermal balance test. This paper presents thermal modelling including test chamber, heating plates and the satellite without solar array wing and Ka-band reflectors and discusses temperature prediction during thermal balance test.

비증발형 게터소자 배기특성 평가시험 (Pumping Performance Test of the NEG Elements)

  • 국내 진공기술 기반을 구축하는 국가사업의 일환으로 게터펌프 성능평가장치를 개발하고 있다. 본격적으로 장치를 구성하기 전에 평가절차의 개발, 장치 설계요건 및 사양을 확정하기 위해 예비실험장치를 만들었다. 이 장치를 이용하여 밀봉형 기기에 들어가는 비교적 활성화 온도가 낮은 게터 소자들의 특성평가 절차를 만들고 이를 적용하여 수소, 일산화탄소, 질소 등에 대해 배기속도와 배기용량을 측정해 보았다. 주로 고순도 기체 공급장치용으로 국내에서 개발된 게터 소자와 램프용으로 널리 쓰이는 외국제품의 배기성능을 비교해 보았다.
