초미세 금속 박판의 마이크로 채널 포밍 (Micro Channel Forming with Ultra Thin Metal Foil)

  • Our research dealt with micro fabrication using micro forming process. The goal of the research was to establish the limit of forming process concerning the size of forming material and formed shape. Flat-rolled ultra thin metallic foils of pure copper(3.0 and $1.0{\mu}m$ in thickness)and stainless steel($2.5{\mu}m$ in thickness) were used for forming material. We obtained the various shapes of micro channels as using designed forming process. $12-14{\mu}m$ wide and $9{\mu}m$ deep channels were made on $3.0{\mu}m$ thick foil and $6{\mu}m$ wide and $3{\mu}m$deep channels were made on $1.0{\mu}m$ thick foil. Si wafer die for forming was fabricated by using etching technique. And the relation of etching time and die dimension was investigated for fabricating precisely die groove. For the forming, die and metal foil were vacuum packed and the forming was conducted with a cold isostatic press. The formed channels were examined in terms of their dimension, surface qualities and potential for defects. Base on the examinations, formability of ultra thin metallic foil was also discussed. Finally, we compared the forming result with simulation. The result of research showed that metal forming technology is promising to produce micro parts.

폴리머 원형 튜브 대상 미세 패턴 정수압 성형 (Micro Pattern Forming on Polymeric Circular Tubes by Hydrostatic Pressing)

  • The objective of the current investigation is to establish techniques in micro pattern forming operations of polymeric circular tubes by using hydrostatic pressing. This method was developed and successfully applied to the micro pattern forming on polymeric plates. The key idea of the new technique is to pressurize multiple vacuum-packed substrate-mold stacks above the glass transition temperature of the polymeric substrates. The new process is thought to be a promising micro-pattern fabrication technique for two reasons; first, (hydro-) isostatic pressing ensures a uniform micro-pattern replicating condition regardless of the substrate area and thickness. Second, multiple curved substrates can be patterned at the same time. With the prototype forming machine for the new process, micro prismatic array patterns, 25um in height and 90 degrees in apex angle, were successfully made on the PMMA circular tubes with diameters of 5~40mm. These results show that this process can be also used in the micro pattern forming process on curved plates such as circular tube.

습식 펄프몰드 생산공정의 탈수성 향상을 위한 연구 (Improvement of Drainage at Wet Pulp Mold Process)

  • The greater Increase of the demand for environmental friendly materials especially for packaging industry leads to the larger interest in the reusable and recycable materials such as pulp mold. Although the pulp mold has great characteristics for packaging, some deficiency compared with other packaging material like EPS(Expandable Polystyrene) need to be overcome, for example, the relative higher cost. In this report, since the water drainage rate at the forming zone of a wet pulp mold process could have a great influence on the economical efficiency not only by increasing machine speed but also reducing the drying energy, the optimum ways for increasing drainage were investigated The mechanism of vacuum drainage In pulp mold forming was successfully evaluated by using RDA(Retention and Darinage Analyzer). Since the conditions of stock were greatly affected by the pulping time of low consistency pulper, the optimum pupling time was investigated with considerations of all stock preparation processes. The change of stock temperature and the addition of polyelectrolyte could improve the vacuum drainage rate. It was founded that the wire mesh types of mold former had a little influence on the retention because of the relatively mild vacuum drainage. However, the bigger size of dewatering hole showed better drainage rate and could reduce the plugging and con lamination of mold.

  • Mn-Zn ferrite powders prepared by an alcoholic dehydration method. Vacuum casting, a kind of wet forming process was examined with this powders. As binders, polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol were used. In order to estimate this conditions, fracture morphology, densities of green and sintered bodies and the microstructure were observed. High density and homogeneous microstructure in sintered bodies were obtained in the case of 0.1 wt% PEG or 0.5 wt% PVA.

고분자 전해질 처리에 따른 BKP의 탈수특성 변화 (The Effect of Polyelectrolytes on the Drainage Properties of BKP)

  • Drainage phenomena on the conventional fourdrinier table can be divided into two distinct zones based on the drainage mechanisms involved. In the forming zone, natural drainage is the principal water removal mechanism, while in the vacuum zone vacuum dewatering displaces water in the wet sheet with air. In this study to investigate the influence of polyelectrolyte addition on natural and vacuum dewatering a vacuum drainage tester was developed and used. Addition of PAM decreased the dryness of the wet sheet after vacuum dewatering since substantial reduction in vacuum level occurred due to flocculation of fibers. Addition of PAM, however, increased the wet web dryness when the fines content of the stock is greater than 35% indicating the presence of fines reduced the air permeability of the wet web to increase its response to vacuum dewatering. On the other hand, PEI, which flocculates the fibers and fines via patch formation, showed little impact on the drainage characteristics of the stocks.

가압-진공 하이브리드 주입성형에 의한 알루미나의 균질 성형 (Homogeneous Shape Forming of Alumina by Pressure-Vacuum Hybrid Slip Casting)

  • Conventional methods for preparing ceramic bodies, such as cold isostatic pressing, gypsum-mold slip casting, and filter pressing are not completely suitable for fabricating large and thick ceramic plates owing to disadvantages of these processes, such as the high cost of the equipment, the formation of density gradients, and differential shrinkage during drying. These problems can be avoided by employing a pressure-vacuum hybrid slip casting approach that considers not only by the compression of the aqueous slip in the casting room (pressure slip casting) but also the vacuum sucking of the dispersion medium (water) around the mold (vacuum slip casting). We prepared the alumina formed bodies by means of pressure-vacuum hybrid slip casting with stepwise pressure loading up to 0.5 MPa using a slip consisting of 40 vol% solid, 0.6 wt% APC, 1 wt% PEG, and 1 wt% PVA. After drying the green body at $30^{\circ}C$ and 80% RH, the green density of the alumina bodies was about 56% RD. The sintered density of an alumina plate created by means of sintering at $1650^{\circ}C$ for 4 h exceeded 99.8%.This method enabled us to fabricate a $110{\times}110{\times}20$ mm alumina plate without cracks and with a homogeneous density, thus demonstrating the possibility of extending the method to the fabrication of other ceramic products.

상온진공 과립분사에 의한 지르코니아 필름의 코팅거동 (Coating behavior of zirconia film fabricated by granule spray in vacuum)

  • GSV (Granule Spray in Vacuum)는 상온의 진공하에서 나노 크기의 치밀한 세라믹 코팅층을 형성하는 방법이다. 일반적으로, 단사정의 지르코니아는 1150℃에서 정방정으로 변태하며, 이때 6.5 %의 체적변화를 일으켜 치밀한 단사정의 지르코니아를 만들기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 코팅 효율에 대한 두 가지 처리 변수의 효과를 조사하는 데 중점을 두었다. 아울러, 특별한 가열과정 없이 형성된 필름의 미세구조에 관찰하였다. 샘플 기판에 증착된 지르코니아 필름에 대한 X-ray diffractometer (XRD) 분석은 단사정 지르코니아 필름이 성공적으로 증착되었음을 보여주었다.

저밀도 세라믹 필터의 고온 여과 성능시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the High Temperature Filtration Performance Test of Low Density Ceramic Filters)

  • Hot gas filtration method via using ceramic filters is an evolving technology applicable to numerous industrial and air pollution control processes. Alumino silicate, organic and inorganic binders were the major raw materials in manufacturing ceramic filters. In this work, disc type ceramic filters(50$\phi$$\times$10t) were manufactured by vacuum forming processes using ceramic raw materials. The porosity and bulk density of disc type ceramic filers ranged from 86 to 89% and from 0.27 to 0.36 g/㎤, respectively. In this work disc type ceramic medium were tested utilizing coupon experimental apparatus. Disc type filters showed high collection efficiencies over 99.96% with Darchs law coefficients of 4.1$\times$10(sup)10~9.63$\times$10(sup)10/$m^2$ depending on mean pore sizes. In addition, filtration and detachment of ceramic filters turned out to be performed effectively using 10 cm/sec face velocity, 5 minutes filtration cycle, 100msec pulse jet valve opening time and 3 bar pulsing pressure.

요인 실험계획법을 이용한 진공유리 지지대 배치용 스크린 인쇄 주요공정변수 설정 (The Determination of Screen Printing Main Factors for Array of Vacuum Glazing Pillar by using Factorial Design of Experiments)

  • The screen printing is a process that is widely used in manufacturing process of various fields such as flexible devices, portable multimedia devices, OLED, and the solar cell. The screen printing method has been studied as a method for forming the high precision micro-pattern, making the low-cost manufacturing process and reducing cost through improvement of productivity. It is applicable to deposit and forming the pillars which are one of the core element for comprising vacuum glazing. In this paper, by using the paste of the glass frit base, the screen printing was performed. We analyzed the effect for the printing process to deposit pillar paste on the screen printing parameters by the factorial experimental design. The polynomial predicting the volume of the printed supporting pillars was drawn by using screen printing.
