A study on the analysis and design for VTR deck mechanisms using CAE (CAE를 이용한 VTR Deck기구의 해석 및 설계)

  • VTR(Video Tape Recorder) has very complicated mechanisms composed of various cams, links, gears and so on. To satisfy kinematic requirements of VTR components, various geometric constraints between rigid bodies and a translational cam design program are developed. Mechanisms of VTR are divided into functional groups like a control part, a loading part and a tape guide part. Each group is modeled for kinematic and dynamic analysis. Finally, all groups are combined together for a complete VTR model and loads required for each function of VTR controls are studied. Detailed description of developed programs are presented and result are discussed.

  • VTR(Video Tape Decoder) 데크(deck) 메카니즘의 조립과정중 최종공정인 주행계 조정공정은 비디오 테이프와 영상 헤드, 음성/콘트롤 헤드의 상대위치를 맞추는 공정으로 VTR의 화질을 좌우하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 주행계 조정나사들을 조정하는 나사조정장치와 이를 제어하여 VTR 데크 메카니즘의 주행계를 자동으로 조정하는 제어시스템을 설계, 제작하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 VTR 데크메카니즘의 주행계 자동조정장치는 5개의 조정 나사를 모두 조정 가능하도록 구성되어 있기 때문에 시행착오로 인한 반복 조정 작업이 가능하게 되었다. 이것으로 공정의 합리화 및 자동화를 통한 공정의 무인화를 이루는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다.

  • In this paper, and optimum profile of a cam being used in a VTR Deck mechanism is designed by the response surface analysis. The objective function of the design is to reduce driving torque of the pinch roller system that is used to compress video tape to the capstan motor axia. The pinch roller system that will be designed is modeled using the general purpopse mechanism analysis program DADS. The computer model is compared with the physical system for reliability. A model function to represent relationship between design variables and the objective function is estimated by the response surface analysis. Once the model function is reliably estimated the optimal design is carried out using the model function and each design variable's boundaries. To verify improvement of the pinch roller system, a prototype for the pinch rooler system is made and tested. From the test result, an optimum cam profile to resuce driving torque of the pinch roller system is verified.

  • In the present study, the following factors are analyzed systematically using the theoretical and experimental methods, which have the significant influence on the quality of VTR tape path system in order to develope the high performance and quality in VTR mechanism: 1) Vibration characteristics of the deck including the tape path sytem, 2) Modeling the global tape path, 3) Torsional vibration of the VTR drum. 4) Capstan system, 5) Tension bar, 6) Stick-slip phenomenon of the running tape.

  • VTR은 전형적인 대량생산방식을 채택하는 제품으로서 설계뿐만 아니라 제조공정에 의해 경쟁력이 크게 좌우된다. 본 연구에서는 주행계 조정공정의 자동화를 위하여 주행계를 구성하는 요소중 Audio/Control head assembly를 조정 하는 장치가 개발되었으며 시스템에 대한 실험적인 모델링과 각종 조정요소들 간의 상호 연관을 상쇄시키는 제어 기법에 관하여 연구가 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 LG전자의 데크모델, D-17을 조정대상으로 하였다.

  • This paper presents a method for tolerance design using the Taguchi Method(TM) and general purpose mechanism analysis program. Also the tolerance design method is with respect to performance improvement of a mechanism. To use the orthogonal array, mathematical model of a mechanism is established and experiments are carried out by the general purpose mechanism analysis program. The contact model is used to consider a clearance effect. This method is applied to the tolerance design of the VTR Deck mechanism. This method can be used in tolerance design of general mechanisms.
