  • The aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft winglet with structural deformation was investigated using the static FSI(Fluid-Structure Interaction) system. The system, comprised of CAD, CFD, CSD, VSI, and grid regeneration modules, was constructed. In the process VSI, grid regeneration, and integration modules were developed to combine CSD and CFD modules. As a test model, KC-135A, the double winglet suggested by Whitcomb, was selected and its aerodynamic characteristics for the rigid and deformable models was calculated by applying the static FSI system. As a result, the lift and drag coefficients of test models were reduced to 11% and 1.3%, respectively.

This distortion is caused by the intended blanking time and the inherent characteristics of the switching devices which are function of the operating condition.   • In this paper, the implementation of a three-phase shunt active power filter is presented. The filter is essentially three independent single-phase current-controlled voltage source inverters (CC-VSI) with a common DC bus. The CC- VSI is operated to directly control the AC grid current to be sinusoidal and in phase with the grid voltage without detecting the load currents. The APF consists of a current control loop, which shapes the grid currents to be sinusoidal and a voltage control loop, which regulates the active power balance of the system. The experimental results indicate that the active filter is able to handle predominantly the harmonics, as well as the unbalance and reactive power, so that the grid currents are sinusoidal, in phase with the grid voltages and symmetrical.

  • Sensorless induction motor drive is much studied due to the cost and reliability of speed and position sensors. Most sensorless algorithms are based on the mathematical modeling of induction motor including electrical variables such as phase current and voltage. Therefore, the accuracy of such variables largely affects the performance of sensorless induction motor drive. However, the phase voltage does not have to be directly monitored because of switching noise, and they may be reconstructed by using the command voltage. The output voltage of SVPWM-VSI supplying the motor has a considerable error, especially in a low speed range because SVPWM-VSI has a poor resolution in a low command voltage. Such a voltage information effect in speed sensorless control of induction motor has been investigated in this paper.

  • The output characteristics of VSI by transistor depend upon bias signal with drive circuit. As the CTI is one of the VSI, takes case PWM output voltage. This Inverter operation is based upon position and negative of sinusoldal PWM signal by carrier triangular wave and compared sine one. Besides, the Inverter operation system required digital signal for microprocessor, sampling method of Inverter driver signals study for get rid of generated signal is error. In the paper, the method of 3 level PWM signal for CTI was studied. This method of signals depend upon caculated switching position of natural sampling with $10^{-6}$ modulation error for time flowchart programs.

  • This paper presents the three section sliding mode control algorithm based on variable structure current controller design in a synchronous frame and indirect field oriented control method, and applies it to the position control of induction motor. This control scheme solves the problem of robustness loss during the reaching phase that occurs in a conventional VSC strategy, and ensures the stable sliding mode and robustness enhancement throughout an entire response. As the performance of a VSI fed induction motor drives depends on the characteristics of inner loop current controller, it is desired that the current controller have the fast tracking and robust nature. Therefore, we introduced the voltage mapping table based on the concept of voltage space vector for variable structure current control, and implemented fully digital control system using 16-bit microcontroller with on-chip peripherals without additional processing circuits. Simulation and experimental results confirm the validity of this control scheme for robust AC servo drive system of VSI fed induction motor.

Kinetics Studies on the Mechanism of Hydrolysis of S-Phenyl-S-vinyl-N-p-tosylsulfilimine Derivatives

  • Hydrolysis reactions of S-phenyl-S-vinyl-N-p-tosylsulfilimine (VSI) and its derivatives at various pH have been investigated kinetically. The hydrolysis reactions produced phenylvinylsulfoxide and p-toluene sulfonamide as the products. The reactions are first order and Hammett ρ values for pH 1.0, 6.0, and 11.0 are 0.82, 0.45, and 0.57, respectively. This reaction is not catalyzed by general base. The plot of k vs pH shows that there are three different regions of the rate constants $(k_t)$ in the profile.; At pH < 2 and pH > 10, the rate constants are directly proportional to the concentrations of hydronium and hydroxide ion catalyzed reactions, respectively. The rate constant remains nearly the same at 2 < pH < 10. On the bases of these results, the plausible hydrolysis mechanism and a rate equation have been proposed: At pH < 2.0, the reaction proceeds via the addition of water molecule to sulfur after protonation at the nitrogen atom of the sulfilimine, whereas at pH > 10.0, the reaction proceeds by the addition of hydroxide ion to sulfur directly. In the range of pH 2.0-10.0, the addition of water to sulfur of sulfilimine appears to be the rate controlling step.

  • Recently Advanced Static Var Compensators(ASVC) or STATic Synchronous COMpesator(STATCOM) has been considered as a next generation reactive power controller. [2] STATCOM is a voltage source inverter(VSI) based static VAr compensator with only small capacitors on the do side. The main function of the STATCOM is to keep the bus voltage magnitude at the desired value. [1] This paper compares the PAM STATCOM with PWM STATCOM. The characteristics and the control method of each model is analyzed. And the simulation of STATCOMs based on the above two methods was presented.

  • This paper presents a design and implementation of DSP-based full-digitalized sliding mode controller(SMC) for an induction motor(IM) fed by voltage source inverter(VSI) with intelligent power module(IPM). By using SMC with load torque observer, we can obtain improved control performances, i.e., robustness, high precision and low chattering. Furthermore, this paper emploies space vector modulation (SVM) method which is implemented to minimize hard ware configuration and to obtain modulation flexibility along with only DSP software operation.
