교육시설물의 실내공기질 측정 및 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A study on the Measurement and Improving Method of Indoor Air Quality in a Educational Facility)

  • People spend more than 90% of their time indoor. Nowadays as they are interested in environment much more than before, indoor air pollution has been regarded as new environmental problems. At present, an air quality check is required prior to the completion of construction. However this study shows that the density level of HCHO and VOCs in a classroom was increased after furnishing the classroom. Thus, to measure the quality of air more effectively and accurately, it should be measured after the indoor space are furnished. Newly-built schools are tested for this study. The building sites were investigated to measure and evaluate the IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) in newly-built schools. The result of this study can be used as a basis to improve the environment air condition of the educational facilities.

군 내무실의 실내공기질 개선을 위한 환기량 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Calculation of Ventilation Rate for the Improvement of Indoor Air Quality on the Barracks)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve indoor air quality of the barracks which have been changed from floor-type living barracks to bed-type living barracks since 2003. Therefore, the ventilation rates of newly constructed two type barracks were simulated with the various building materials including VOCs and HCHO components. And indoor air quality of two type living barracks was measured by the field experiments. With these steps, the measures for upgrading indoor air quality depending on building material types and ventilation rate are suggested.

  • Recently, as people's interest in environmental pollution increases, interest in indoor air pollution as well as outdoors is increasing. Accordingly, this study prepares functional paints by mixing powder activated carbon, which is a porous material, into aqueous paints, and examines the adsorption performance of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde (HCHO). As a result of the experiment, the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde (HCHO) tended to decrease as powder activated carbon was incorporated. It is believed that physical adsorption was achieved by the micropores of powdered activated carbon. However, in the adsorption test method, it is judged that the concentration was affected by the inflow of outside air as the chamber cover was opened to put the test object in the empty chamber where a certain concentration was maintained.

실내 건축 마감자재의 공기오염물질 방출량 분석 (Measurement of Air Contaminants Emission from Interior Finish Material)

  • For the moderns who spend more than 80% of the time inside a building, interior environment became important since it directly affects their health. Recently as noxiousness of the air contaminants of the interior space stood out as well as the above trend, the Ministry of Environment enacted a lawto maintain the interior air quality at certain level of standard in the multi use facility and newly constructed apartment. To make the indoor air clean, removal technology of various contaminants should be developed and interior materials with chemical treatment should be restrained. In other words, selection of interior finish affects indoor air quality from the initial design stage to the construction stage. However, only limited contaminants emission data of building materials are supplied by related companies. There is no average contaminants emission data for overall materials. Moreover, high cost and equipments for one time measurement of VOCs emission of interior finish are the obstacles of active research and data measurement. Therefore, this paper searched the current condition of average VOCs & HCHO emission of various interior finish based on the study requested to research center from the building material company through Stands Test Method for Indoor Air Quality.

시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용한 신규 차량의 인테리어 물질에 따른 VOC와 폼알데히드의 농도 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concentration Variations of VOCs and Formaldehyde on the Type of Interior Materials of New Vehicles by Simulation Program)

  • The concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) and Formaldehyde(HCHO) for interior materials of new vehicles are estimated and recognized by using the simulation program known as IAQx. The concentrations of contaminants are estimated and evaluated by the ventilation rates of new domestic vehicles and the required ventilation rates for new vehicles are estimated through the given contaminant data. This study is conducted to compare the ventilation rates for the contaminants between the discontinuously ventilated new vehicles and the continuously ventilated new vehicles using the simulation program. The equation of ventilation rate of new vehicles is acquired to be able to lower initial concentrations below the standard level under different conditions for both business and personal commuting.

경기도 북부지역 아파트의 지하주차장 실내공기질 변동 특성 (The Characteristics of Indoor Air Quality Variation in Underground Parking Lots of Apartments located in Northern Gyeonggi Province)

  • Objectives: The study examined indoor air quality during daytime and commute times in underground parking lots in five apartments located in northern Gyeonggi province. Methods: This study examined the temporal characteristics of $PM_{10}$, $CO_2$, CO, HCHO and VOCs in the indoor air quality of the underground parking lots in five apartments. Results: $PM_{10}$ concentration in daytime were ranged from 37.4 to $69.9{\mu}g/m^3$ which complied with the indoor air quality maintenance standard ($200{\mu}g/m^3$) and Gyeonggi province ordinance standard ($180{\mu}g/m^3$). However $PM_{10}$ concentrations in commuting time were in range of $447.3{\sim}944.0{\mu}g/m^3$ that exceeded for both criteria. The $CO_2$, CO and HCHO concentrations complied with the standard. The VOCs indicated high tendency in the order of toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene and benzene. This tendency was more apparent in commuting time than daytime. Conclusion: All indoor parking lots of five apartments were equipped with ventilators. However the most apartment residents did not operate blowers to save electricity and the lack of interest for indoor air quality. In order to improve the indoor air quality of underground parking lots in apartment, operating ventilation system during commuting time is recommended.

고속버스 운행시 공조시스템 조건에 따른 객실 내 실내공기질 변화 (A study on the effect on indoor air quality by ventilation system operation in buses)

  • In this study, the condition of the hazardous materials in the bus was monitored according to the ventilation mode of the air conditioning system during bus service. The bus was surveyed using the indoor air quality measurement method of public transportation vehicles within one year of delivery. We evaluate the $CO_2$ and $PM_{10}$, which are the controlled parameters in buses by the Ministry of Environment, and VOCs and HCHO, the non-controlled parameters. The $PM_{10}$ concentration increased due to outdoor air intake; however the $CO_2$ concentration was found to decrease. In addition, the concentration of VOCs and HCHO was found to decrease due to the forced ventilation system and the outdoor air intake. These results show that the concentration of the other materials except $PM_{10}$ can be changed due to the outside air concentration and forced ventilation system. Therefore, through indoor air quality characteristics of the bus according to air condition system are intended to be used as the basis of an operation manual.

A신축아파트 및 B백화점에서 기계환기에 의한 실내공기질의 개선 효과 (Effect of Mechanical Ventilation System on Improvement of Indoor Air Quality in A Newly Built Apartment and B Department Store)

  • 본 연구에서는 기계환기에 의한 실내공기질 개선효과를 현장실험을 통해 파악하기 위해 환기설비를 갖춘 A 신축아파트와 다중이용시설인 B 백화점을 연구 대상으로 하였다. A 신축아파트에서는 새집증후군 등 주요 실내공기오염의 원인물질인 VOCs 및 HCHO를 측정 대상물질로 선정하고 미환기 상태에서 16가구에서 전반적인 신축아파트의 실내공기오염 특성을 파악하였으며, 이중 상대적으로 TVOC 농도가 높은 2가구를 대상으로 환기전후의 농도 특성을 파악하였다. B 백화점에서는 $CO_2$ 및 HCHO를 대상물질로 선정하고 1~7층별로 미환기시와 기계환기 1시간 이후의 농도 특성을 통해 환기에 의한 저감율을 파악하였으며, 이후 환기시설 정상가동 상태에서 3년간 실내공기오염물질의 농도 특성을 파악하였다. 미환기 상태에서 A 신축아파트의 VOCs 및 HCHO 농도는 일부 지점에서는 에틸벤젠, 자일렌 등의 농도가 실내환경기준을 초과하고 있었다. 특히 환기전후의 TVOC 농도 특성은 A-1 지점의 경우 미환기시 $3,547{\mu}g/m^3$에서 환기시 $961{\mu}g/m^3$ 그리고 A-2 지점의 경우 미환기시 $3,117{\mu}g/m^3$에서 환기시 $594{\mu}g/m^3$으로 환기에 의해 각각 73%, 81% 저감율이 나타났다. 또한 개별 VOCs 및 HCHO물질별 환기에 의한 저감율은 31.4~96.7%로 나타났으며, 환기이후 모든 물질이 실내기준보다 훨씬 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. B 백화점에서는 평균 $CO_2$ 농도는 미환기시 855 ppm에서 기계환기 1시간 이후 580 ppm으로 약 32% 저감되었으며, HCHO의 평균농도도 $251{\mu}g/m^3$에서 $70.3{\mu}g/m^3$으로 약 72%의 저감되는 것으로 나타났다. 이후 환기시설 정상가동 상태에서 3년간 실내공기질의 측정결과 지속적으로 실내환경 기준을 만족하였다. 최근 실내공기질 개선을 위해 다양한 개선 방법이 소개되고 있으나, 이중 기계환기는 신축아파트 및 다중이용시설 등에서 실내공기질을 실내환경기준 이하로 지속적이고 쾌적하게 유지할 수 효과적 방법으로 고려된다.
