이 논문의 목적은 영미권 공공도서관의 패싯 내비게이션 분석을 통해서 국내 공공도서관 이용자에게 적합한 패싯 내비게이션을 구축하기 위한 것이다. 국내 공공도서관 19개와 영미권 공공도서관 12개를 선정하여 패싯 내비게이션의 고유한 패싯들을 분석하였다. 국내 공공도서관의 패싯은 대학도서관의 패싯과 차이가 없었지만, 미국과 캐나다 공공도서관은 공공도서관만의 고유한 패싯을 포함하고 있었다. 그 패싯들은 이용자 계층, 문학형식, 유사자료추천(library list), 이용자 생성 태그, 이용자가 대출할 수 있는 도서와 도서관에서만 이용할 수 있는 도서, 온라인으로 접근할 수 있는 도서로 나누어서 제시하는 이용자의 사용성을 증진시키기 위한 패싯들이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 패싯들을 통합서지용 KORMARC 008 부호화정보필드를 활용하여 국내 공공도서관에 적용함으로써, 공공도서관 이용자의 도서관 목록을 이용한 검색 편의성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

Random hexapeptide library on the surface of filamentous bacteriophage was constructed using the SurfZAP vector. The size of the library was approximately 105. The peptide insert was flanked by two cysteines to constrain the peptide structure with a disulfide bond. This library was screened for the topoisomerase II binding peptide. Dramatic enrichment of the fusion phage over the VCS M13 helper phage was demonstrated by bio-panning affinity selection.

The present study has a dual purpose to investigate the current state of school English library and needs required for its effective use, and to propose a reading program at the school library. The literature on school library was reviewed. A questionnaire survey was done to find out the current situation of English library at the secondary school. The analysis of 26 secondary English teachers' responses reveals that there was the absence of librarians or reading specialists at the school English library. It was also found that the uses of the English library were limited due to the absence of the specialists, no guidelines, and no link between the curriculum and the library use. A case study on a 2-week special reading program at the school English library was conducted and 15 middle school students took part in the project. The participants took pre- and post-tests to identify their reading level using a software and did a variety of reading activities using the books selected according to their level. The comparison of the tests shows that most of the students' reading level improved after the reading program. The analysis of their views on the program and its effects reveals that they gained confidence in reading and their vocabulary understanding was improved. Some suggestions are made for the effective management of the school English library.

This research paper delved into the availability and utilization of library portal services for research in university libraries in Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The study was carried out in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Felix Aghagbo Nwako Library, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Library (UNIZIK), Awka. A total of 70 professionals (librarians and system analysts) in these libraries supplied data for the study. Data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation. These were used to answer the research questions while the null hypotheses were tested using t-test statistic at 0.05 level of significance and 68 degree of freedom. Major findings showed that portal services available in the library showed that the areas of availability of library portal services in Nnamdi Azikiwe Library, U.N.N. includes Agriculture, Health Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Sciences and information about institution, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences. In Festus Aghagbo Nwako Library, Awka, the areas of Portal Library Services include Career Development, Federal Government Programs, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Findings on extent of utilization of portal services available in the libraries indicated that portal services are utilized to a low extent in the university libraries. Furthermore, librarians did not significantly differ in their opinions on the availability of library portal services and on the extent of utilization of library portal services in the libraries under study. It is therefore recommended that provisions should be made by the universities and library management to provide and update required portal services in addition to creating enabling environment for enhanced access and utilization of these services. The governments must make an effort to provide funds for policy implementation, necessary technology training for librarians and users, and develop general information infrastructure.

이 연구의 목적은 중요도-수행분석 방법을 이용하여 전문도서관의 서비스 질을 조사하는 것이다. 또한 더 나은 도서관 서비스 전략을 수립하기 위하여 근무연수 요인을 중요도-수행분석에 적용하였다. 총 127명의 국내 정책 연구소와 리서치 연구기관 직원들이 연구에 참여하였다. 이 연구는 또한 회귀분석을 실시하여 중요도-수행분석의 결과와 비교하였다. 연구결과, 전문도서관 이용자들은 도서관서비스에 대해 높은 기대를 가지고 있어 서비스 성과에 전반적으로 만족하지 못하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 전문도서관 이용자들은 도서관들이 정보서비스는 비교적 잘 제공되지만, 사서 서비스나 도서관 공간 이용에 대한 서비스는 개선이 필요하다고 하였다. 도서관서비스를 인구통계학적인 요소로 분석하였을 때, 근무연한에 따라 유의미한 결과가 있었다. 8년 이상 근무한 직원들은 도서관 서비스에 대해 전반적으로 만족하였으며 도서관 서비스 중에 더 이상 제공이 필요치 않은 서비스가 없다고 하였다. 하지만 3년 이하 근무한 직원들은 사서에 의해 제공되는 서비스에 불만족도가 높았다. 이러한 결과는 회귀분석으로도 증명되었다. 마지막으로 더 나은 전문도서관 서비스를 위해 몇 가지 제안을 제시하였다.

이 연구는 국내 도서관에서 소셜네트워크서비스를 적용하고 있는 사례를 조사하여, 관종별 도서관에 사용된 소셜네트워크서비스의 종류 및 도입현황을 살펴보고, 관종별 사용하는 소셜네트워크서비스의 특징과 차이점 등을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 국내의 4개 관종의 도서관을 대상으로 2010년부터 2012년까지 도서관 평가에서 우수 도서관 목록을 추출하였다. 둘째, 추출된 32개의 대학도서관과 41개의 공공도서관, 40개의 학교도서관, 9개의 전문도서관의 홈페이지 및 기관 사이트를 조사하였다. 셋째, 조사된 결과를 바탕으로 소셜네트워크서비스의 활용에 대한 기본 데이터를 분석하고, 관종별 소셜네트워크서비스가 사용된 특성 및 차이점을 분석하였다. 넷째, 그 결과를 기초로 관종별 소셜네트워크서비스의 적용할 부분과 향후 발전방향을 제언하였다.

The outbreak of the corona virus diseases (COVID-19) in the late 2019 has affected all facets of educational system including library and information services. Reference services, an important aspect of library services are not exempted from this impact. This study therefore, investigated the impact of COVI\D-19 pandemic on the use of reference services and sources by postgraduate students using Kenneth Dike Library (KDL), University of Ibadan, as a case study. Using descriptive survey of correlational type, the study adopted the use of structured questionnaire to randomly select three hundred (300) postgraduate users of reference sources and services in KDL using online survey monkey. Of the three hundred (300) copies, two hundred and twenty three (223) copies, repre- senting 74.3% were retrieved and used for analysis. Findings revealed that, in spite of COVID-19 pandemic, most postgraduate students used Current Awareness Services (203, 91.0%, mean = 3.19), Reference Sources (202, 90.5%, mean = 3.18) and On-line Public Access Catalogue (195, 87.4%, mean = 3.13); low frequency of bibliotherapy (mean=2.22), Reader's Advisory services (mean=2.30) and inter-library loan (mean=2.13) and that COVID-19 pandemic had high impact on post- graduate students' use of reference services in Kenneth Dike Library, University of Ibadan. Based on the findings, recommendations were made that library management should consider the adoption of virtual reference services (VRS) in addition to the conventional mode of refer- ence services to enhance patronage in the COVID-19 era. The library users should also be trained on how to take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to learn new skills in the digital space that will eventually optimize the usage of the library remotely.

The present survey aimed at analyzing factors influencing the development of the university library collection, with the special reference to the case of the Education Collection of the Pusan National University Library. For this, the present researchers have identified two areas of influencing factors, i.e.., library factors and user factors. Library factors included collection development policy, manpower, materials received as gift and budget. User factors included faculty and students. For analyzing the factors, the present researchers have relied on qualitative research techniques, using heavily documents produced within the case library, interviews librarians, faculty and students, and observation.

본 연구에서는 네이버, 다음, 알라딘, Amazon, Google, KERIS, LibraryThing, OCLC 등 8개의 도서용 Open API 현황을 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 C대학교 도서관의 서지레코드에서 '광학'(DDC 535) 분류 167건의 표본 서지레코드를 선정하여 Open API의 활용성을 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 Open API를 이용한 서지레코드의 접근점 기능 확대와 목록 확장에 유용하다고 판단되는 12개의 Open API 적용 모형을 실험적으로 구현하였다. 또 통합서지용 KORMARC 001, 010, 012, 020, 035, 246, 505, 520, 850, 856 필드들을 대상으로 Open API를 이용하여 서지레코드의 접근점 기능 확대와 목록 확장방안들을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 표본 서지레코드의 OPAC 검색결과 간략화면과 상세화면을 대상으로 Open API를 이용하여 목록 확장방안들을 예시로 구현하였다.

제7차 교육과정은 어린이의 개성과 창의성 개발을 중시하고 학생의 자발적인 활동과 디지털 자료를 활용하는 교수-학습 방법을 권장하고 있다. 학생 중심의 자기 주도적 학습이 강조되고 스스로 문제해결 능력을 배양하기 위해 컴퓨터와 정보통신기술의 패러다임을 기반으로 어린이도서관에서도 디지털 자료실의 이용현황과 이용자 만족도 및 요구사항을 분석함으로 향후 디지털 자료실 운영 시 고려할 사항을 제시할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2003년 2월에 개관한 노원어린이도서관 디지털 자료실을 대상으로 운영 및 이용 현황을 분석함으로써 어린이도서관 디지털 자료실의 효과적인 이용을 통한 운영시 고려할 사항을 제시하고 보다 적극적인 정보서비스를 제공하는데 토대를 마련하고자 한다. 2장에서는 어린이도서관의 개념과 어린이도서관 내 디지털자료실의 개념적 모델을 정립하고3장에서는 노원어린이도서관 디지털 자료실의 운영현황을 분석하고 디지털자료실 이용자초등학생 100명을 대상으로 이용현황 및 요구사항을 분석한다. 4장에서는 분석을 통해 나타난 이용현황 및 요구사항을 기반으로 어린이도서관 디지털자료실 운영 시 고려해야 할 사항을 제시하고 결론을 맺고자 한다.
