It is usually difficult for a single user to have all the essential knowledge on various Rapid Prototyping processes and techniques. It is therefore necessary to capture knowledge and experience of users of expert level into a decision-support system which provides quicker and more interactive way to select proper RP process and/or machine. rather than reading reports on benchmarking studies and comparing tables and graphs. In this paper two algorithms are presented, which may be used in such a decision-support system. together with its applications. The one is an extended PRES(Project Evaluation and Selection) algorithm which applies weighting factors of each attribute. The other is a LCE(Linear Confidence Equation) algorithm which is proposed to apply user's input requirements as well as weighting factors.

This paper introduces an Internet-based generic simulator for outpatient clinics, named PIOS (Postech Internet-based Outpatient Simulator). Unlike other simulation tools, PIOS is operated on the Internet, is straightforward to use for outpatient process analysis, and is open to public via http://logistics.postech.ac.kr/pios with free of charge. Therefore, non-simulation expert users such as hospital administrators and managers can easily access to PIOS and conduct simulation study by themselves. In this paper, we describe the main components and programming logic of PIOS, and demonstrate its validity by comparing the output results of PIOS and a commercial software package.

An automatic pronunciation correction system provides users with correction guidelines for each pronunciation error. For this purpose, we propose a speech recognition system which automatically classifies pronunciation errors when Koreans speak a foreign language. In this paper, we also propose machine scoring methods for automatic assessment of pronunciation quality by the speech recognizer. Scores obtained from an expert human listener are used as the reference to evaluate the different machine scores and to provide targets when training some of algorithms. We use a log-likelihood score and a normalized log-likelihood score as machine scoring methods. Experimental results show that the normalized log-likelihood score had higher correlation with human scores than that obtained using the log-likelihood score.

The emergence of Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogs and wiki, enable even naive users to easily create and share content on the Web using freely available content sharing tools. Wide availability of almost free data and promiscuous sharing of content through social networking platforms created a content borrowing phenomenon, where the same content appears (in many cases in the form of extensive quotations) in different outlets. An immediate side effect of this phenomenon is that identifying which content is re-used by whom is becoming a critical tool in social network analysis, including expert identification and analysis of information flow. Internet-scale reuse detection, however, poses extremely challenging scalability issues: considering the large size of user created data on the web, it is essential that the techniques developed for content-reuse detection should be fast and scalable. Thus, in this paper, we propose a $qSign_{lsh}$ algorithm, a mechanism for identifying multi-sentence content reuse among documents by efficiently combining sentence-level evidences. The experiment results show that $qSign_{lsh}$ significantly improves the reuse detection speed and provides high recall.

In this paper, a real time monitoring and management system being operated in the ubiquitous environment was developed to monitor leakage current, load current, and arc-fault, and an electrical safety network for reasonable management of electrical risk factor was proposed. For confirmation of usefulness and reliability of the proposed safety network and system, the developed intelligent panels were applied to 28 Korean traditional houses in Jeonjoo city, and the network including the panels was operated. If the National Electrical Safety Network is completely constructed in the houses of general electrical users, the network will have an effect on that a main manager transfers from general people to expert. As a result, the electrical fires caused by an over-load, an arc-fault, and an earth-fault will be prevented.

In this paper, we proposed an interactive GUI (Graphical User Interface) system to model buildings with an editable script. Our system also provides probabilistic finite-state machine (PFSM) to define the relationships of sub-models with transformation matrices and transition probabilities for constructing new novel building models automatically. User can not only get various building models by PFSM but also adjust the probabilities of sub-models from PFSM to get desired building models. As shown in the results, the various and vivid building models can be constructed easily and quickly for non-expert users. Besides, user can also edit the script file which is provided by our system to modify the properties directly.

Multimedia systems present information by using various media, for example, video, sound, music, animation, movie, etc., in addition to the text which has long been used for conveying the information. Among many multimedia applications, the multimedia information retrieval systems commercialized in the form of multimedia encyclopedia CD-ROMs, benefit by using various media for their ability to present information in an efficient and complete way. But using various media may cause end users' confusion and furthermore, poor user-interface design often exacerbates the systems. For appropriate design of the user interface of multimedia information retrieval systems, we investigated the characteristics of the multimedia information retrieval systems and listed 35 variables that might affect the usability of the user interface. And we selected 10 variables through some procedures such as brainstorming, literature survey, expert opinion, relevance analysis and feasibility analysis, in order to perform a screening study which will remarkably reduce the cost and time in conducting subsequent human factors experiments.

In evolutionary algorithm, there exist various models for the evolution of the population with respect to schemes and strategies for reproduction. In the application of the algorithm to a specific problem, one model suitable to the problem is to be properly chosen and a program expert or a software is needed to help implement and test a designed algorithm. In this study, the software for simple evolutionary algorithms(SEA) with one population is developed. The software is designed as an application framework type, so that it may be friendly, allow users to add some program, and operate under the environment of Windows. For this, hierarchical classes for components of SEA are first designed by means of an object-oriented approach and then a library for SEA is built by them. With the library, developed is an application framework that can generate a frame code for an application program. The software proposed here can be used as a generalized tool for solving problems in a wide range of domains.

영화나 애니메이션의 초기 제작 단계에서 스토리보드는 줄거리를 시각적으로 설명하기 위해 사용된다. 스토리 보드는 스토리의 텍스트 뿐 아니라 사람과 사물의 배치, 카메라 위치 등의 설정을 위해 그림이나 사진을 사용되기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 스토리보드 제작을 용이하게 그리고 직관적이 되도록 하기 위하여 증강현실 기반의 스토리보드 시스템을 제안한다. 본 시스템을 사용하면 경험이 없는 사용자라도 미리 만들어진 3차원 모델을 사용하여 사용자 자신의 실제 환경에서 모델들을 배치하고 애니메이션을 실행시킬 뿐 아니라 카메라의 위치와 방향까지도 제어할 수 있다.

In this study, we will try to develop the 3D automatic design program of limit gauge. When users, who have some mechanical information, input some date, they can do 3D-modeling easily like expert. This is one of the merit in automatic design program and the automatic design program can compare the limit gauge made in this study with processed the bolt and nut model. This demonstrates the effective value of automatic design model. Limits gauge of sort divide into ring gauge of measuring bolt and pin gauge of measuring nut. The new automatic design program follows the KS.
