A Survey of the Satisfaction Level of Construction Information System From Users' Viewpoints On Construction Site (현장 사용자 관점에서의 건설 정보시스템 만족도 분석)

  • Most of large construction companies have developed construction information systems and their ultimate goals should be improvement of the management efficiency of the construction projects. In order to make them successful, the systems should be designed to meet system users' needs Therefore purpose of this study is to evaluate the current information management systems from the viewpoint of the system users, especially on-site engineers. Questionnaire surveys and interviews have been conducted for the highly ranked 10 construction companies on four major factors including the functions of the systems and satisfaction level of each function, recognition of the use effect, informatization support. From the surveys results, correlation between the functions of the systems and the others has been statistically analyzed.

  • As mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs become more popular, users are becoming accustomed to consuming a massive amount of multimedia content every day without time or space limitations. From the industry, the need for user satisfaction investigation has consequently emerged. Conventional methods to investigate user satisfaction usually employ user feedback surveys or interviews, which are considered manual, subjective, and inefficient. Therefore, the authors focus on a more objective method of investigating users' brainwaves to measure how much they enjoy their content. Particularly for multimedia content, it is natural that users will be immersed in the played content if they are satisfied with it. In this paper, the authors propose a method of using a portable and dry electroencephalogram (EEG) sensor device to overcome the limitations of the existing conventional methods and to further advance existing EEG-based studies. The proposed method uses a portable EEG sensor device that has a small, dry (i.e., not wet or adhesive), and simple sensor using a single channel, because the authors assume mobile device environments where users consider the features of portability and usability to be important. This paper presents how to measure attention, gauge and compute a score of user's content immersion level after addressing some technical details related to adopting the portable EEG sensor device. Lastly, via an experiment, the authors verified a meaningful correlation between the computed scores and the actual user satisfaction scores.

A Study on Determinants of Customer Satisfaction in Environmentally Friendly Agricultural Product Franchises (인터넷 창업 패션쇼핑몰 디자인 품질이 이용고객 관계의 질과 관계지속의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study is to verify the correlations among design quality of domestic internet fashion shopping mall and relations to specific shopping malls, and shopping mall users' intention to continue the relations. The main results were withdrawn as follows. First, it was found that some factors of internet fashion shopping mall design quality had significant positive influences on the qualities of relationship to users such as reliability, satisfaction and devotion. Second, it was found that all components of quality of customer relationship to internet fashion shopping mall such as reliability, satisfaction and devotion had significant positive influence on their intention to continue relations to the internet shopping mall. Third, graphic and multimedia quality of internet fashion shopping mall design components had significant positive influences on internet fashion shopping mall users' intention to continue relationship to the shopping mall. Empirical study of qualities on the relationship between internet fashion shopping mall design quality and its users, their intention to repurchase or recommend goods from the mall would be very valuable in a management point of view of small internet fashion shopping mall.

  • Advances in IT technologies are developing VR content technologies that provide five senses information to users and interact with them. These VR content technologies are widely used by users not only for time and space limitations but also for providing immersion experiences. VR contents are contents that allow users to experience images that are played on the screen through five senses such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and holograms as well as visuals. VR games are also becoming more diverse in interfaces for the interaction of users with VR games. This study recognized the importance of the interface and analyzed the impact of the application characteristics of VR game UI on user experience and satisfaction from the user perspective. Research shows that VR game UI interacts with user experience and satisfaction. This appears to affect user experience based on how well people using VR game UI can understand and utilize the characteristics and functions of UI.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the safety factors of the public transportation and recommend the experimental factors of customer satisfaction. The survey consist of 28 questions of 5 factors about users characteristics on roads, railways, ships, and flights. As a result of multiple regression analysis, we knew that there are three potential factors affecting customer satisfaction. The Factors are named 'expected', 'attitude', 'management', and the variable of factors affect customer satisfaction significantly. Therefore, it is good strategy for effective working to improve customer satisfaction that maintain attitude with safety minds, try to specialized management, and creating expectation for safety considering the difference by the type of public transportation. After considering the meaningful result, for the development of policies for customer satisfaction for safety, we have to consider expected, attitude, and management factors of workers and officials that influence customer safety and try to improve the managerial factors considering the characteristics of their own.

A User Satisfaction Based Touch Button Design (사용자 만족도를 고려한 터치 버튼 사이즈에 대한 연구)

  • This study has been conducted on touch screen interface design for mobile devices. It was intended to measure user’s satisfaction on one-handed thumb input mobile devices. Recent studies proposed the optimal touch button size, but it is inappropriate for mobile devices. Therefore, this study was focused on four touch key factors-width, height, the horizontal and vertical distance between touch keys-as independent variables. The ANOVA results showed that the user satisfaction of four touch key factors was significantly affected by the thumb input. It also apparent that the interactions between four factors were significant. As a result, the horizontal and vertical distance as well as the width and height affected the satisfaction of users. In addition, this study suggested satisfaction models which represent the top 30%, 50%, 70% of user satisfaction measurement. The results of this study could be used to design touch keys that are able to enhance the usability on touch screen based mobile devices.

  • This study explores the factors influencing user satisfaction of mobile IPTV and their relationship. We formulate the research model based on characteristics of mobile device and IPTV. Responsiveness, contents satisfaction, price satisfaction, aesthetic simplicity, network quality are proposed as essential antecedents of mobile IPTV satisfaction. We also suggest network quality and gender as moderators. Our data analysis with 297 mobile IPTV users shows contents and price have significant positive effect on mobile IPTV satisfaction. Network quality shows positive moderation effect on the relationship between responsiveness and satisfaction.

An International Index for Customer Satisfaction in the Construction Industry

  • In a competitive business environment, like construction, achieving customer satisfaction has been identified as an important element for measuring project's success and sustaining competitive advantage. Traditionally, customers were expelled from the product development process. Little effort was done, in the past to identify the factors that lead to customer satisfaction and hence, use them for product improvement. Organizations that adopted that approach, encountered the risk of losing their customers. In construction, end-users of governmental housing projects were excluded from the design decision making process and accordingly, their requirements were not reflected in design. Although a number national customer satisfaction indices and barometers have been developed worldwide, they have their own limitations and shortcomings. This paper aims to develop an international index for customer satisfaction in the construction Industry. For the first time in construction literature, this research identified, validated and classified 45 drivers for achieving customer satisfaction in the construction industry.

The Impact of Selection Attributes of School Cafeteria Consumers on Satisfaction and Behavioral Intentions - Focused on University Cafeteria Consumers (급식업체 소비자의 선택속성이 만족 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 대학교 급식업체 소비자를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore the relationship between satisfaction and future behavior intention of cafeteria users. Respondents of the research were cafeteria users in major colleges in Kyunggi province. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed between October 1, 2010 and October 20, 2010 but only281 questionnaires were used for the analysis. Based on 14 selection attributes, factor analysis showed that the KMO value of 0.634, which was extracted by Verimax vertical rotation, and=610.084(p<0.001). In addition, the distributional explanation showed a total of 61.685%. Five factors were obtained as ingredients, food, menu, maintenance, and internal environment factors according to the feature of each variable. The Cronbach value according to confidence and validity tests was 0.703. The explanation was 16.3% and the influence on satisfaction included ingredients, maintenance, and internal environment. The effect on future behavior intention was significant at the level of p<0.001. This study has limitations in that it has generalized the findingson consumers of university cafeterias; therefore, follow-up studies must be conducted.

  • The objective of this study is to provide basic data for building better exterior spaces for stadiums in the future by analyzing the behavior of users, such as the satisfaction measure and the physical environment, after using the exterior space at an existing stadium. To achieve this, multiple methods of data gathering and analyses such as field surveys, documentary surveys, and questionnaires research were used in this study. In the survey of user satisfaction, regression analysis was conducted on all factors. Factor analysis was conducted on the variables that were classified into physical, functional, social, and psychological factors. The factors were then tested and based on the results, multiple regression analysis was conducted to measure the effects of the factors concerning satisfaction. A questionnaire research on the use of the exterior space of a stadium as well as the social and economic backgrounds of the users was also conducted in order to utilize the results for the basic data for analysis of satisfaction. According to the results of this study, the exterior space of a stadium satisfied overall expectations. However, it is deemed important to introduce various facilities and activity programs and to improve the exterior spaces for users in building stadiums in the future.
