  • Web applications make life more convenient. Many web applications have several kinds of user input (e.g. personal information, a user's comment of commercial goods, etc.) for the activities. On the other hand, there are a range of vulnerabilities in the input functions of Web applications. Malicious actions can be attempted using the free accessibility of many web applications. Attacks by the exploitation of these input vulnerabilities can be achieved by injecting malicious web code; it enables one to perform a variety of illegal actions, such as SQL Injection Attacks (SQLIAs) and Cross Site Scripting (XSS). These actions come down to theft, replacing personal information, or phishing. The existing solutions use a parser for the code, are limited to fixed and very small patterns, and are difficult to adapt to variations. A machine learning method can give leverage to cover a far broader range of malicious web code and is easy to adapt to variations and changes. Therefore, this paper suggests the adaptable classification of malicious web code by machine learning approaches for detecting the exploitation user inputs. The approach usually identifies the "looks-like malicious" code for real malicious code. More detailed classification using sequence information is also introduced. The precision for the "looks-like malicious code" is 99% and for the precise classification with sequence is 90%.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate major factors influencing adoption of smartphone to promote its use by older adults. Background: Despite increasing proportion of elderly people and elderly market, the proportion of elderly smartphone user is still relatively small compared to whole smartphone users. Thus, we need to find out major factors influencing adoption of smartphone to increase proportion of elderly smartphone users. Method: Seven major factors were extracted from 36 survey questions using factor analysis. Regression analysis was also applied to determine specific factors affecting intention of use based on user versus non-user of smartphone, age, gender, and educational background. Results: As results of factor analysis and regression analysis, major factors influencing adoption of smartphone for elderly users were significantly different according to gender, age, educational background based on smartphone users or non-users. Conclusion: The result of this study identified major factors influencing adoption of smartphone for the elderly and provided basic information related to adoption of smartphone according to elderly people's characteristics. Consequently, we can expect to reduce the information gap and to improve quality of life for the elderly. Application: The development and marketing strategy could be applied differently based on the factors influencing adoption of smartphone. • As Internet services have spread centering on mobiles, diverse services used in everyday life have become mobile services. For humans, residential spaces have significant implications as physical and psychological environments. Therefore, being provided with accurate information on the room that must be sought to find out the residential space wanted by the user can be said to be an important element of real estate apps. However, when buying real estate, people prefer searching for information using mobiles and verifying the information by visiting the real estate firsthand due to increases in damage due to false offerings. This way approaches as inconvenience in cases where the buyer lives far away or if the conditions are not suitable. Therefore, in the present study, a 'room finding application using VR' was designed and implemented using virtual reality (VR) used for diverse purposes. VR is a technology that provides the user with the sense of presence as if the user is actually present in the space. It was used in the present study as a means to provide more accurate information. The use of the application designed and implemented in the present study is expected to reduce false offerings information at least slightly so that users can be provided with more accurate information on the real estate of interest.

  • This article aimed at broadening the view on 'the concept of function' in furniture design. In this context, we argued that the established concept of furniture function has confined itself to the rational perspective, so that the emotional action and influence of furniture hardly regarded as an important issue in furniture design, and this has been a hinderance to multidirectional discussions on the meaning of furniture in our life. Starting from the investigation on the basis that forms the different dimensions of our experience of furniture, we clarified that we should view the meaning of furniture within a wider sphere where the actions of furniture on our perceptional, behavioral, and emotional levels are inclusively considered. In this light, 'emotional function' of furniture was defined as a concept that explains a multidimensional action of furniture, which leads creative aesthetic experience which enrich the interplays between designer, furniture, and user. The feasibility of the concept has been examined by an analysis on the characteristics of contemporary Art Furniture, which is experimental approaches towards various aesthetic values of art and design. In order to realize emotional function of furniture, furniture should become an experiment for the new perception and emotion; invite more of the user's interplay and action in the meaning-making process; and arouse emotional echoes and reflections within user's mind.

  • In this paper, we propose a system that automatically assigns user's experience-based emotion tags from wearable sensor data collected in real life. Four types of emotional tags are defined considering the user's own emotions and the information which the user sees and listens to. Based on the collected wearable sensor data from multiple sensors, we have trained a machine learning-based tagging system that combines the known auxiliary tools from the existing affective computing research and assigns emotional tags. In order to show the usefulness of this multi-modality-based emotion tagging system, quantitative and qualitative comparison with the existing single-modality-based emotion recognition approach are performed.
