A Study on the User Task in Resource Description & Access (RDA에 나타난 이용자 과업에 대한 연구)

  • This study deals with the user task that is the goal of development of RDA (Resource Description & Access), an international standard for future bibliographic description. RDA seeks to implement the user task based on FRBR-FRAD model. User task could be composed of two areas: (1) find, identify, select, and obtain of bibliographic resources in information seeking and (2) find, identify, clarify, and understand of entities related to resources (i.e., person, family, corporate, concept, etc.). This research analyzes how the resource is defined with entity, attributes, and relationship in RDA based on the conceptual model of FRBR-FRAD. And this finally shows the ways of supporting user task in RDA.

  • ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29WG11 MPEG has been standardizing UD(user description) to give a user personalized recommendation services. Besides, CD(context description), service description(SD), and recommendation description(RD) are recently being standardized by UD Adhoc Group in MPEG with an advanced UD to cope with needs of current and upcoming services such as augmented reality and social network. The descriptions was reflected to MPEG-UD WD(Working Draft) at MPEG $107^{th}$ meeting and the document was finally approved as international standard by national bodies with standard number(ISO/IEC IS 21000-22 UD) at $114^{th}$ MPEG meeting. In addition, reference software WD to validate conformance of UD standard was approved at $113^{th}$ MPEG meeting. In this paper, we developed a demo program for visual communication according to guideline defined in reference software WD to validate the reference software as well as UD standard.

  • Internet of Media Things (IoMT) aims to provide intelligent media services to users by connecting (media) things to each other and exchanging media data. The mission given by the user is automatically executed, and intelligent media service can be provided to the user. To achieve this, ISO/IEC 23093-5 started standardization work on the mission data given by the user to the media thing and the media thing controller (MController) that controls the media things. This paper introduces the contents of ISO/IEC 23093-5.

An User Controllable Object Audio File Format and Audio Scene Description (사용자 기반 실감 객체 오디오 파일 포맷 및 오디오 장면 묘사 기법)

  • Multi-media service has been changed into user based audio services, which service supports actively user's preference and interaction with the users. In the market, multi-media products which can support the highest audio-quality by using lossless audio technology have been released and object audio music which user can select the objects has been serviced. In this paper, we design user's preference information based object audio file format and audio scene description for storage and transmission media. The designed file format is designed based on MPEG-4 file format because high-quality audio codecs in MPEG-4 audio can be easily used and the track of file format can be flexibly controlled depend on the number of the instrument in music. The encoded audio data of each objects and encoded audio scene description by binary encoding that has independent track are packed in a file. The scene description for storage media is consist of full and object scene description, the scene description for transmission media has an essential description for object audio operation and a specific description for real audio sound. The designed file format based simulator is developed and it generates an object audio file with several scene descriptions. Also, the real audio sound is serviced by the interaction with user and the unpacked scene description.

  • Many XML-compliant UIDLs(User Interface Description Languages) have been developed to specify user interfaces. Although previous UIDLs are helpful to describe user interfaces of web and desktop applications, they are not available of developing UI of mobile applications. In this paper, in order to effectively specify user interfaces of MIDlet which is application model on J2ME(Java Platform, Micro Edition), we propose MIML(Midlet Interface Markup Language) and present transformation rules to generate source codes from MIML. Further, we enhance the usability of MIML through J2MERenderer which is a tool using presented rules. The proposed method can specify user interfaces of mobile applications and allow developers to keep productivity and consistency in development phase.

  • It is expected that intelligent broadcasting service (IBS) will be able to provide broadcast programs based on user preference and program-associated information (metadata) in order to assist users to easily navigate the program contents being broadcast. So users can access program contents anytime/anywhere in the way they want. In this paper we propose a framework for IBS based on an intelligent software agent platform so called FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents). We use an FIPA implementation. so called FIPA-OS, as a platform for exchanging user preferences and program information as FIPA messages between a server and clients. The user preference is modeled as the User Preference description scheme in MPEG-7 MDS (Multimedia Description Scheme).

  • With the development of cloud computing, internet technology and Internet of Things(IoT), most of applications are being smarter and changing from native application to SaaS (Software as a Service) application. New versatile SaaS applications are being released through various app portals (e.g. appstore, googleplay, T-Store, and so on). However, a user has a difficulty in searching, choosing an suitable application to him. It is also hard for him to know what functions of each SaaS application are useful. He wants to be recommended something inter-operated SaaS service according to his personality and his situation. Therefore, this paper presents a way of making mash-up of SaaS applications in order to provide the most convenient inter-operated SaaS service to user. This paper also presents SaaS Application Mash-up Framework (SAMF), complex context and rule matrix. The proposed SAMF is a main system that totally manage SaaS application mash-up service. Complex context and rule matrix are key components in order to recommend what SaaS applications are needed and how those SaaS applications are inter-operated. The SAMF collects complex contexts (User Description, Status Description, SaaS Service Description) in order to choose which SaaS applications are useful, analyze what functions to use, how to mash-up.

  • We present an automated CMOS standard cell design mehtodology which generates a mask description in the CIF (Caltech Intermediate Form)from a user-given logic description and design rule. The resultant layout reflects the user's choice among N-well, P-well and twin-well process and user's decision whether the guard band is to be included or not. Noise margin of each cell was improved by carefully adjusting the channel width of P-FET.

  • Currently be proceeded a lot of researchers for 'user information demand description' for interface of an information retrieval system or Web search engines, but user information demand description for a natural language form is a difficult situation. These reasons are as they cannot provide the semantic similarity that an information retrieval model can be completely satisfied with variety regarding an information demand expression and semantic relevance for user information description. Therefore, this study using the description logic that is a knowledge representation base of OWL and a vector model-based weight between concept, and to be able to satisfy variety regarding an information demand expression and semantic relevance proposes a decision way for perfect assistances of user information demand description. The experiment results by proposed method, semantic similarity of a polyseme and a synonym showed with excellent performance in decision.

  • In present web service structure, the service begins when supplier register the information of its service to UDDI(Universal Description Discovery and Integration). When user searches service directory in UDDI, the position of service is transmitted to it. And then, user requests WSDL(Web Service Description Language) to the supplier. When WSDL is delivered to user, user requests the service according to WSDL. This thesis simplifies this web service process. This makes WSDL owned by supplier stored to WSDLBASE when supplier register its service. Also this makes it possible that user search the service and receives WSDL.
