  • Given the growing deployment of mobile offices, we need to understand the fectors which affect their successful use and implementation. We in this paper present a parsimonious model which integrates the IS success model and the TAM. The main feature of the model is that it allows one to explore the role of mobility of mobile office systems in determining the level of system usage and dependence. Although the mobility is the key property of any mobile system, there is little research effort exerted to understand how mobility affects the traditional IS factors such as perceived ease of use and usefulness. In addition to the system usage, this model also uses dependence as the dependent variable. This is expected to provide richer understanding of the study context. We collected survey data from 1,614 field service workers of a major domestic electronic company. They use PDAs to retrieve information regarding the specifics of the customer service requests and to report what has been done for each service job. The results from SEM analysis show that mobility improves the perceived ease of use which then leads the field service workers to depend more on the PDA systems. Interestingly enough, however, the workers' satisfaction does not cause more frequent use of the system.

  • In this paper, we performed a evaluation for angular and energy dependence of military radiation detector PDR-1K. Its measuring range is divided into two section, low and high, and each range has a GM tube separately owing to broad scale. We observed a change in relative angular reactivity within 0.928 ~ 1.188 in low range and within 0.743 ~ 1.000 in high range from $-90^{\circ}$ to $+90^{\circ}$. The evaluation for energy dependence appeared a relative reactivity within 0.892 ~ 1.000 above 83 keV. This means PDR-1K isn't possible to use below 83 keV of radiation energy. It is possible to provide response information to user and to increase reliability of radiation measurement through this paper.

  • This study analyzed the latent profile for identifying the difference in the dependence on smartphone use among middle school students in the 1st grade using the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). From the result of this study, first the latent class was separated according to the type of dependence on smartphone use. Class 1 included the students (from fifth grade in elementary school) whose level of reliance on smartphone use was low. Class 2 was selected as the group whose level of reliance on smartphone was high. Secondly, in comparing class 2 to class 1, it was found that the students who have a high probability of being in class 1 were those whose fathers are high achievers, have high early self-esteem and less age attachment. Thirdly, the students in class 1 had a higher sense of neglect than those in class 2. Furthermore, the self-determination of the students in class 2 mediated the effect of neglect on the adolescents' dependence on smartphone use both directly and indirectly.

  • A normal mixture model with which dependence between classes is incorporated is proposed in order to detect differentially expressed genes. Gene clustering approaches suffer from the high dimensional column of microarray expression data matrix which leads to the over-fit problem. Various methods are proposed to solve the problem. In this paper, use of simple averaging data within each class is proposed to overcome the various problems due to high dimensionality when the normal mixture model is fitted. Some experiments through simulated data set and real data set show its availability in actuality.

  • Purpose: To investigate the work associated stress and nicotine dependence among law enforcement personnel in Mangalore, India. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among law enforcement personnel in Mangalore, India. Demographic details, stress factors experienced at work and nicotine dependency were the variables studied. The extent of stress factors experienced at work was assessed using the Effort-Reward Imbalance scale (ERI). Nicotine dependence was measured using the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND) and the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence-Smokeless Tobacco (FTND-ST). Logistic regression was used for the statistical analysis. Results: Three hundred and four law enforcement personnel participated in the study, among whom 68 had the presence of one or more habits like tobacco smoking, tobacco chewing and alcohol use. The mean effort score was $15.8{\pm}4.10$ and the mean reward and mean overcommitment scores were $36.4{\pm}7.09$ and $17.8{\pm}5.32$ respectively. Effort/Reward ratio for the total participants was 1.0073 and for those with nicotine habit was 1.0850. Results of our study demonstrated no significant association between domains of ERI scale and presence of habits but work associated stress was associated with the presence of one or more habits. Compared to constables, head constables had 1.12 times higher risk of having a nicotine habit. Conclusions: Our study implies job designation is associated with nicotine habits. However, there was no association between work associated stress and nicotine dependence among law enforcement personnel in Mangalore.

  • The angular dependence of active dosimeters, EPD, is analysed and compared with that of passive dosimeters, OSLD, after evaluating their relative response and uncertainty of measurement, where it is known that the personal use of them has been increased recently. There appeared a minor variation for average relative response of OSLD in the horizontal and vertical directions within the range $0^{\circ}{\sim}{\pm}90^{\circ}$, which are 0.97 and 0.95 respectively. The variations of angular dependence in the same situations with OSLD are 0.65 and 0.62, respectively, which also reveals a negligible effect on the overall uncertainty. EPDs within the interval $0^{\circ}{\sim}{\pm}60^{\circ}$ for horizontal and vertical directions are 0.94 and 0.97, respectively. These satisfy the requirements of IEC 61526. Uncertainties about the dependence of direction from horizontal and vertical directions are 0.44, 0.40, respectively. The impact of these uncertainties on the overall uncertainty was negligible. However, we observed a significant change in reactivity: the relative reactivities for $+90^{\circ}$ and $-90^{\circ}$ from the horizontal direction are 0.60, 0.37, while that form vertical direction is 0.06. The direction dependence of OSLD was superior to EPD in the range of $0^{\circ}{\sim}{\pm}90^{\circ}$. There appeared a rapidly changing structural features in EPD response for a certain direction. Therefore, we conclude that concurrent use of passive dosimeters and auxiliary dosimeter provides accurate data for personal dose measurements.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the self-awareness of smartphone dependence among undergraduate students and their response to the same. The data was drawn from a survey on smartphone overdependence conducted by the Ministry of Science and information and communications technology (ICT) and the National Information Society Agency in 2017. The responses of 1,735 undergraduate students were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum-maximum value, 2-test, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that 22.3% of participants were at risk of smartphone dependence, and 63.6% of them were unaware of their dependence on smartphones. The perception of smartphone dependence was significantly associated with a higher risk of smartphone dependence (=.35, p=.000) and the increasing use of applications such as games (=.19, p=.000), television/video (=.11, p=.000), and learning (=.11, p=.000). Of the participants with dependence awareness, only a few knew about the existence of centers to prevent smartphone and internet dependence. Moreover, they rarely utilized these centers. However, the participants felt the need for more counseling agencies (26.8%), programs for dealing with oneself (23.2%), information about smartphone dependence (14.9%), and help to overcome dependence (10.9%). These findings show the need to establish public services so that students can easily access correct information on smartphone dependence and address this problem.

  • In a dynamic business environment, the enterprise mobility solution for a mobile office (EMS) has been adopted to increase the competitive edge of organizations. By using an EMS, performance is expected to be enhanced. However, the related literature has paid little interest to the impact of system quality in an EMS on the information quality produced by the system. On the basis of socio-technical theory, we posited that the system quality in an EMS influences information quality. In addition, we investigated the relationships between the above two qualities, use and job performance by considering task mobility and task inter-dependence as control variables. Survey respondents were from many industries using EMSs. The result of structural equation modeling shows that system quality positively affects information quality, and other relationships in the model are proven statistically significant. We also found that system quality has stronger impacts on use and job performance than information quality does in EMS. However, system quality does not affect use in case both task mobility and task inter-dependence exist. The theoretical and practical implications of the result are discussed in the paper.

  • Mutual information is useful for analyzing nonlinear dependence in time series in much the same way as correlation is used to characterize linear dependence. We use multivariate kernel density estimators for the estimation of mutual information at different time lags for single and multiple time series. This approach is tested on a variety of hydrologic data sets, and suggested an appropriate delay time $ au$ at which the mutual information is almost zerothen multi-dimensional phase portraits could be constructed from measurements of a single scalar time series.

  • There are so much oil and gas reserves in Iran. Therefore extraction from these reserves and sell extracted oil and gas in international markets causes to high oil income for Iran. Especially in some years which oil price increases, our oil income was too high. In this paper, we want to reveal that, high oil income is not cause to rise of nonoil export. For this aim, we use from data of 1971-2013 and with Johansen co-integration test and Error Correction Model (ECM) extract short run and long run relations. Results of estimation reveal that in Iran high oil income is not cause to many non oil exports in long run and short run. Therefore, we should allocate oil income to import industrial machines and reallocate them to agriculture and industrial sectors which causes to raise national production which will cause to high non oil export. Then, in this condition, our needy exchanges are provided from non oil export and our dependence to oil income will be declined.
