Analysis of Performance and Economical Efficiency through Cycle Simulation for Power Saving BIP(Block Ice Plant) (절전형 제빙시설 사이클 모사를 통한 성능 및 경제성 해석)

  • Domestic ice making companies make effort to obtain products and neglect to introduce low cost product improvements with energy savings. The work presented here is an implementation of ice making method to improve both energy efficiency and productivity. In this present investigation, several ice making cycles are proposed for higher efficiency in the system. COP(Coefficient of Performance), ice making time and electric energy consumption are evaluated and compared with the conventional system. Results shows that COP is improved with more efficient use of time for ice making and electric consumption. Therefore, this can offer an opportunity for more efficient use of energy and higher productivity in ice making.

  • This paper aims to compare the use of Centrifugal Turbine and Tesla Turbine in an application of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Machine using Isopentane as working fluid expanding. The working fluid has boiling point below boiling water and works in low-temperature sources between 80120C which can be produced from waste heat, solar-thermal energy and geothermal energy etc. The experiment on ORC machine reveals that the suitability of high pressure pump for working fluid has result on the efficiency of work. In addition, Thermodynamics theory on P-h diagram also presented the effect of heat sources' temperature and flow rate on any work. Thus, the study and design on ORC machine has to concern mainly on pressure pump, flow rate and optimized temperature. Result experiment and calculate ORC Machine using centrifugal Turbine efficiency better than Tesla turbine 30% but Tesla Turbine is cheaper and easily structure. Further study on the machine can be developed throughout the county due to its low cost and efficiency.

  • LED lighting because of high efficiency, long life, friendly environment, as a general lighting of the next generation, has been substituted for incandescent bulb and fluorescent lamp. The proposed system for use of solar battery is the intelligent controller for LED street lights which is improved the method of battery charging and charging efficiency in winter to extend battery life cycle, controlled lighting current according to SoC and in steps. Also, it is implemented emotional lighting which is controlled with the surrounding environment, by using colorful sub LED to take up 10[%] of a source of total light, white LED. As a lab results, the proposed system was implemented functions to adapt to the environmental changes, and improved the charging efficiency and battery life cycle.

  • The use of nuclear reactors is a large studied possible solution for thermochemical water splitting cycles. Nevertheless, there are several problems that have to be solved. One of them is to increase the efficiency of the cycles. Hence, in this paper, a thermal energy optimization of a Sulfur-Iodine nuclear hydrogen production cycle was performed by means a heuristic method with the aim of minimizing the energy targets of the heat exchanger network at different minimum temperature differences. With this method, four different heat exchanger networks are proposed. A reduction of the energy requirements for cooling ranges between 58.9-59.8% and 52.6-53.3% heating, compared to the reference design with no heat exchanger network. With this reduction, the thermal efficiency of the cycle increased in about 10% in average compared to the reference efficiency. This improves the use of thermal energy of the cycle.

  • As a result of the vast amount of data that is geographically found in different locations. Distributed data mining (DDM) has taken a center stage in data mining. The use of mobile agents to enhance efficiency in DDM has gained the attention of industries, commerce and academia because it offers serious suggestions on how to solve inherent problems associated with DDM. In this paper, a novel DDM model has been proposed by using a mobile agent to enhance efficiency. The main idea behind the model is to use the Naive Bayes algorithm to give the mobile agent the ability to learn, compare, get and store the results on it from each server which has different datasets and we found that the accuracy increased roughly by 0.9% which is our main target.

  • USE는 OCL(Object Constraint Language)로 작성된 UML 다이어그램의 제약조건을 검증해볼 수 있는 가장 뛰어난 도구이다. USE는 다이어그램에 적용되는 제약조건을 미리 저장해두고 검증 다이어그램을 명령어 형태로 입력받아 정확성 또는 일관성을 검증하는데 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 검증과정의 복잡함을 줄이기 위하여, UML 모델링 시에 검증 대상이 되는 다이어그램의 USE 명령어를 생성하는 효율적인 도구를 설계하고 구현한다.

  • As the exterior of building has been considered one of th important parts, the use of glass that is suitable to express various appearances gets raised. However, windows have 6~7times lower insulating performance than insulated walls. Lately, highly efficient windows are required as the needs for reduction of energy consumption come to the force. Therefore, Nowadays more people use cooling systems in summer, more the use of Low-E glazing is increasing. Because it is good to block Solar Radiant Energy which can cause much of heat loss while cooling system is working. This study measures U-value of the double Low-E glazing window and commonly used single Low-E glazing window. And then the effect of each window on the efficiency rating has been analyzed applying to the certification system of the building energy efficiency rating which has implemented.

Effects of Water Deficit on Biomass Accumulation and Water Use Efficiency in Soybean during Vegetative Growth Period

  • Water deficit is the primary constraint of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] yield, and a physiological understanding of processes affected by water deficit is a key step in identifying and improving drought tolerance in soybean. The objectives of this research were to evaluate biomass and nitrogen accumulation patterns and water use efficiency (WUE) as possible mechanisms associated with the drought tolerance of Jackson. Biomass accumulation of Jackson was contrasted with the PI416937, which also has demonstrated tolerance to drought. For water-deficit treatment, total biomass accumulation was negligible for PI416937, but biomass accumulation continued at approximately 64 % of the well-watered treatment of Jackson. Transpirational losses for Jackson and PI416937 were approximately the same for the water-deficit treatment, indicating that Jackson had superior WUE. Isotopic discrimination of 13 C relative to 12 C also indicated that Jackson had higher WUE. Results indicated that increased WUE for Jackson under water deficit showed it was tolerant to drought rather than had an avoidance mechanism.

  • In this paper, Seoulmetro that is the first operation organization which operates a city railroad rolling-stock maintenance RIMS(rolling stock information maintenance system) collected and analyzed a light maintenance data and introduced time a series analysis technique to find the way how to contribute to a use efficiency improvement of a city railroad. The purpose of time a series analysis is to remove a seasonal change including data and to check an irregular fluctuation. First of all, a collection range of the data comes under a light maintenance, however it needs a data of more than 3 years to check the seasonal change. We put a study for an accumulated scope that the data satisfy a period like this and are able to extend a range of the study when time flys forward. The data used for study is filtered using a movement average method after passing proper selection working and is solved with a method which looks for season index. Using the season index that was getten in here, we predict a light working frequency, if it has an irregular change, we will contribute it to a city railroad a use efficiency improvement and establish the cause by carrying out prevent maintenance in advance.

A Comparative Study of Use of Cephalosporins in Total Knee Replacement Surgery in Terms of Economic Efficiency (슬관절치환술 환자의 Cephalosporin계 항생제 사용에 대한 경제효율성 비교연구)

  • Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery is one of the invasive procedures for patients with late-stage knee joint disorders. In the present study, economic efficiency was compared between uses of the 2nd and 3rd generation cephalosporins for the prophylaxis before and after the surgery using frequency analysis in terms of various factors such as medication costs, the number of days of antibiotic use and hospitalization due to TKR surgery. The results showed that the 3rd generation cephalosporins did not reduce the infection rate and total medication costs, but rather raised antibiotic cost in comparison with the 2nd ones. A frequent use of the 3rd ones is closely related to emergence of resistant bacterial strains. Therefore, we suggest that unnecessary prescriptions for the broad spectrum antibiotics should be avoided.
