도시 브랜드 이미지가 도시 브랜드 인지도와 도시 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of City Brand Image on City Brand Recognition and City Loyalty)

  • Purpose - Competition among cities around the world are rapidly shifting from competition of production factors such as labor costs and quality of raw materials to competition between the consumption factors such as quality of life, settlement environment, culture, and place. The entry into the era of competition between consumption factors is not only attracting investment for strengthening city competitiveness, but also actively inducing urban image reconstruction and new image making. Therefore, various studies related to urban marketing are being carried out. The object of this study is to investigate the effect of city brand image on city brand recognition and city loyalty based on the questionnaire of external citizens about Changwon city. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected from 200 Seoul and Busan citizens. Reliability and exploratory factor analysis were conducted through the SPSS program, and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were conducted by using the AMOS program. Results - As a result of the hypothesis test, six hypotheses were adopted among the nine hypotheses. In summary, pleasant image, dynamic image, and good administrative image have a significant positive impact on city brand recognition. The magnanimous image did not have a significant effect on city brand recognition. In the impact of city brand image on city loyalty, magnanimous image and good administrative image had significant positive impact on city loyalty. Pleasant images and dynamic images did not significantly affect city loyalty. In addition, city brand recognition positively influenced city loyalty. Conclusions - First, it is possible to say that there is an academic significance of this research in its contribution to regional revitalization by investigating mutual influences in urban aspect by combining place marketing with image, recognition, and loyalty. Secondly, kinetic images such as pleasant image and dynamic image have more influence on recognition, and static images such as magnanimous images have more influence on loyalty. So, further research will be necessary to establish theories. Finally, In order to increase city brand recognition and city loyalty to local city, efforts should be made to improve urban images such as pleasant image, magnanimous image, dynamic image, and good administrative image.

공공유니폼의 색채 분석 (Color Analysis of Public Uniforms)

  • Public uniforms play an important role in creating the color and image of urban environment beyond the level of simple working clothes for unity and practicality. Hence this study aims to compare and analyze the color characteristics and images of the police officer, fire fighter, and street cleaner uniforms at home and abroad to guarantee the wearer's safety, increase convenience and agreeability, and give emotional satisfaction to citizens in harmony with urban environment color as public uniforms. For study methods, literature review investigated urban environment, color, and uniforms as public design. Empirical study extracted color data from the public worker uniforms of the world's top 20 cities selected by 'Newsweek' in 2010 and analyzed their colors, tones, and color images. The results of this study are as follows. The most common color for police uniforms were PB(dk) as the main color, PB(p) as the sub color, and Wh as the accent color. For fire fighter uniforms, PB(dkg) was the most common main color; GY(v), as the sub color; and ItGy, as the accent color. The most common color for street cleaner uniforms was YR(v) as the main color; GY(v), as the sub color; and mGy, as the accent color. As a result of analyzing color images of these uniforms, it was found that police uniforms commonly used a modern image; fire fighter uniforms commonly used a natural image and a cool casual image; and street cleaner uniforms commonly used a casual image. As examined above, the color of public uniforms suitable for urban environment and job characteristics is very important to establish the image of public institutions, as well as to create an urban image.

도시성장분석상 위상영상자료와 구역자료의 통합이용에 관한 연구 (Urban Growth Analysis Through Satellite Image and Zonal Data)

  • 위성영상은 도시의 물리적 확산 및 변화를 예측하는데 많이 활용되고 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 도시화된 지역이 어느 정도의 강도로 개발되었는지를 파악할 수 있는 밀도분석에는 적절치 못하다. 이는 위성영상이 미시적 공간단위로 토지이용 현황을 분석하는 반면 통계자료는 거시적 공간 단위로 구축되어 있어 통계자료를 미시적인 공간단위에 적용하는데 어려웠기 때문이다. 본 연구는 위성영상자료와 통계청의 기초단위구라는 미시적 구역통계자료를 활용하여 도시성장분석상 이들 자료를 통합하여 활용하는 것이 유용함을 입증하고자 하였다. 연구대상지역은 대구광역시로 하였으며, 분석자료로 1985년과 2000년의 위성영상 Landsat TM-5 와 구역통계자료로 기초단위구를 이용하였다. 분석결과 위성영상자료는 도시의 확산 그리고 기초단위구는 밀도 분석이 용이하여 도시성장에 따른 확산과 밀도변화를 동시에 파악할 수 있었다.

도시이미지 향상을 위한 도시디자인의 평가체계 설정에 관한 연구 (Establishment of the Evaluation System of Urban-Design for the Improvement of an Urban-Image)

  • Regarding urban design in this 21st century, cities pursue human-oriented urban design through which nature, cities, and human beings are unified and interact with one another. For such urban design maintenance, it is needed to conduct systematic analysis and synthesis on various and complex factors of cities expressing urban images. Also, it is necessary to secure methods to evaluate those cities based on urban users' visual information. Thereupon, this study aims to suggest urban design evaluation methods which accept human behavior or needs and also allow us to figure out desirable images. For this, the study established the construction system of the most basic urban design components that form cities through literature review and expert evaluation. And it examines correlation among those factors with statistic means. Through this, the study suggests a new urban design evaluation system and evaluation process divided into experts and users so as to reflect user behavior or needs.

원격탐사 지수 영상으로부터 도시 지역 탐지를 위한 임계점 평가에 관한 연구: 대구광역시를 사례로 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Different Thresholds for Detecting Urban Areas Using Remote-Sensing Index Images: A Case Study for Daegu, South Korea)

  • 지구관측 위성영상을 활용한 도시지역 매핑 작업은 도시지역의 팽창 및 도시발전의 관측을 위해 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 대구광역시를 촬영한 Landsat-8 위성영상의 분광밴드를 이용하여 제작한 두 원격탐사 지수 영상(정규 건축물 지수(NDBI) 영상 및 도시 지수 (UI) 영상) 으로부터 도시지역을 탐지하기 위한 임계점 평가에 관한 연구를 다음과 같이 진행하였다. 우선, Landsat-8 영상의 분광밴드를 이용하여 NDBI 영상과 UI 영상을 각각 제작한다. 그리고 다양한 임계점(-0.4, -0.2 및 0)을 NDBI 및 UI 영상에 적용하여 도시지역을 탐지하고, 탐지된 도시지역의 정확도를 산출한다. 본 연구를 통해 진행한 실험결과를 분석한 결과, NDBI 영상에서는 임계점으로 -0.2를 적용시켰을 때 탐지된 도시지역의 정확도(88%)가 가장 높았고, UI 영상에서는 임계점으로 -0.4를 적용시켰을 때 탐지된 도시지역의 정확도(88%)가 가장 높았다. 또한, 일부 지역에서는 나지가 도시지역으로 오분류 되었으며, 고층 아파트 지역이 비도시 지역으로 오분류 되었다. 추후 연구에서는 위성영상에서 오분류를 줄이고 다양한 도시지역 객체를 추출할 수 있는 개선된 방법을 제안하도록 한다. 또한 다중시기 위성영상에서 탐지된 도시지역을 이용하여 도시 팽창 패턴을 분석하는 추후 연구도 수행할 계획이다.

Designation of Buildings in Urban Area of High-resolution Satellite Image Using Generalized Hough Transform

  • Analysis of high-resolution satellite image becomes important for cartography, surveillance, and remote sensing. However, there are lots of problems to be solved for automatic analysis of high-resolution satellite image especially in urban area. The problems are originated from the increased complexity due to the unnecessary details and shadows, and time-varying illuminations. Because of such obstacles, it seems impossible to make automatic analysis. This paper proposes a way of change detection of buildings in urban area by using digital vector map. The proposed way makes the buildings on the vector map parameterized, and searches them in the preprocessed high-resolution image by using generalized Hough transform. The searched building objects are overlaid on the satellite image. The overlaid image can help to detect the change of building rapidly.

  • 최근 위성영상이 도시계획 및 관리에 필요한 정보를 획득하는 수단으로 큰 각광을 받고 있지만 도시계획 분야에서는 위성영상이 현황을 설명하는 보조 자료나 지도를 대신하는 베이스맵으로만 이용되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 도시정비사업의 정비예정구역 지정을 위해 사용되는 각종 지표를 표현할 수 있는 세부측정항목을 추출해 내고, 이렇게 설정된 세부지표 측정을 위해 위성영상과 GIS를 활용하였다. 위성영상과 GIS를 연계하면, 도시정비사업의 정비예정구역 지정을 위한 각종 지표들을 정량적으로 파악 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 정비예정구역의 지표특성을 기초로 하여 정비유형을 결정하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

한국과 중국의 국가와 성별에 따른 여성이미지 선호도의 차이 (The difference in female image preference by nation and gender between Korea and China)

  • This study aims to identify the differences between Korean and Chinese and males and females in terms of female image preferences. The survey was conducted for 1 month targeting male and female Korean and Chinese subjects. Among the 350 completed questionnaires, 309 were used for analysis. For the analysis, 11 female images were chosen based on theoretical study, then a t-test and a paired t-test were carried out using SPSS 19.0. The results of this study are as follows: First, differences in female image preferences were observed to depend on nationality and gender. Koreans prefer urban images while Chinese prefer cute, intelligent, and sexy images. Second, males prefer innocent or sexy images, while females prefer sophisticated images. Third, Korean males prefer innocent, active, sophisticated, gentle, cute, sexy, urban, natural, intelligent, spectacular, and neutral images in order. Chinese males prefer gentle, innocent, sexy, active, sophisticated, intelligent, cute, natural, urban, spectacular, and neutral images in order. Fourth, Korean females prefer sophisticated, gentle, urban, natural, intelligent, innocent, active, sexy, cute, spectacular, and neutral images in order. Chines females prefer sophisticated, intelligent, cute, gentle, innocent, active, natural, sexy, urban, spectacular, and neutral images in order. Using these results, it will be possible to design marketing strategies for global consumers.

항공사진과 수치지도를 이용한 도시 건물의 이미지 기반 모델링 (Image-Based Modeling of Urban Buildings Using Aerial Photographs and Digital Maps)

  • 비행 시뮬레이션과 같은 가상현실 시스템은 실제 존재하는 도시의 가상환경을 필요로 하며, 항상 변화하고 있는 도시환경과 최대한 일치하는 도시모델을 유지하여야 한다. 따라서 주기적으로 갱신되는 지형공간정보를 활용할 수 있는 도시 모델링 방법이 필요하다. 또한 비행 시뮬레이션은 가까운 지역뿐만이 아니라 먼 거리의 건물을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 고해상도 항공사진과 수치지도로부터, 가상 도시환경을 비교적 적은 노력으로 모델링 할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 이미지 기반의 모델링 기법을 아파트처럼 단순한 구조의 건물이 많은 한국의 도시환경과 지형공간정보의 특성에 맞도록 적용하여, 수많은 건물을 폴리곤으로 모델링 하지 않고 효율적으로 표현할 수 있도록 한다. 제안하는 방법은 지형공간정보의 전처리 과정과 가상 도시환경 모델링 과정으로 구성되며, 건물의 높이 맵을 만드는 간단한 전처리 과정만으로 가상 도시환경을 모델링 할 수 있어, 기존의 폴리곤 기반의 모델링 방법이 대규모 도시 가상환경에서 멀리 있는 수많은 건물의 표현을 생략하였던 문제점을 개선하였다.

88 서울올림픽 마라톤 코스의 결정 과정과 도시 경관 이미지 전략 (Seoul 1988 Olympic Marathon Course Selection Process and the Image Strategy of the Urban Landscape)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the selection process of the marathon course and the progress of the related urban landscape design projects. The study revealed that the initially selected course of the downtown Namdaemum changed to the riverside course that runs around Gangnam and Han river. This change implied that showing the developed landscape of Seoul was much more considered than showing the traditional landscape of Seoul. The urban design plan had changed in 1986 after the marathon course was finalized. The development project of downtown was changed to Gangnam area including Teheran-ro. The city also redeveloped the substandard housing zones around the Olympic facilities. As a result, developed areas and modern apartments of the riverside was emphasized in international TV game broadcast. This embedded the industrialized and modernized image of Seoul to foreigners. Also, Koreans started to recognize the Han river as Seoul's representative landmark. Accordingly, Seoul succeeded in creating a modernized urban landscape image through the Olympic marathon course.
