적외선 체열 영상의 표준화 연구 부위별 대표 혈위를 중심으로 (Standardization Study of Thermal Imaging using the Acupoints in Human Body)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to invigorate the use of infrared thermal imaging apparatus as a diagnostic tool in Oriental medicine by providing standard temperature on specific acupoints. Methods: Subjects for the study was recruited through an advertisement in the school homepage(www.sangji.ac.kr) explaining the objectives and methods. 100 volunteers agreeing to terms were selected and measured the full body thermal image. Common acupoints used in the clinical surrounding were chosen and final 63 acupoints were selected for the measurement. Male/female and right/left readings were obtained for the analysis. Results: Following results were obtained from analyzing the body temperature of 50 male subjects and 50 female subjects 1. Subjects participating in the study ranged from 19 years of age to 44 years. Median male age at $26.86{\pm}6.02$ and female age at $22.88{\pm}2.74$, respectively. 2. For all acupoints, no significant differences were witnessed between the gender and right, left side of the body. 3. 10 acupoints from the facial region(18 bilateral), 8 acupoints from the chest/abdomen region(10 bilateral), 6 acupoints from the back region(11 bilateral), 17 acupoints from the upper extremity(34 bilateral), and 22 acupoints from the lower extremity(44 bilateral) were chosen. 4. In the facial region, BL2 showed the highest temperature and GV26 showed the lowest. 5. In the chest/abdomen region, CV22 showed the highest temperature and CV6 showed the lowest. 6. In the back region, GV14 showed the highest temperature and BL23 showed the lowest. 7. In the upper extremity region, jianqian(extra point) showed the highest temperature and baxie(extra point) showed the lowest. 8. In the lower extremity region, KI1 and bafeng(extra point) shoed the highest temperature and BL40 showed the lowest. Conclusions: Based on the standard body temperature measured on specific acupoints throughout the body, we hope these findings can trigger further studies on applications of infrared thermal imaging and clinical usage in the field of oriental medicine.

A Dumbbell-Shaped Meningioma Mimicking a Schwannoma in the Thoracic Spine

  • A 50-year-old man presented bilateral hypesthesia on and below the T6 dermatome and paresthesia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an intraspinal extradural tumor, which located from the 6th thoracic vertebral body to the upper margin of the 7th vertebral body, continuing dumbbell-like through the intervertebral foramen into the right middle thorax suggesting a neurogenic tumor (neurofibroma or neurilemmoma). With the patient in a prone position, we exposed and excised the tumor via a one stage posterior approach through a hemi-laminictomy of T6. Histologic examination showed a grade 1 meningothelial meningioma, according to the World Health Organization classification. Initially, we assumed the mass was a schwannoma because of its location and dumbbell shape. However, the tumor was actually a meningioma. Postoperatively, hypesthesia resolved completely and motor power of the leg gradually full recovered. A postoperative MRI revealed no evidence of residual tumor.

측면낙상 시뮬레이션용 대퇴골 모델 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Femoral Bone Model of Human Body for Simulation of Side Falls)

  • Due to the increasing needs of anti-fall device for elderly, it is required to develop the test rigs for fall simulation. The femoral bone model consists of silicone and steel is used as an effective device to simulate falls. In this work, we propose five different femoral bone models and analyse them by using a commercial FEA tool. It has been shown that two kinds of simplified models exhibit the simulated side falls with an error range of ~1% in the impact load of femoral neck compared with full model. Especially, the upper tissue model is found to provide us with the best efficient test environment, attributable to its simple structure.

척수손상환자의 폐활량에 자세가 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Position on Measured Lung Capacity of Patients with Spinal Cord Injury)

  • To determine whether position affects measured lung capacity of spinal cord injury patients. The study subjects were 45 patients with spinal cord injury (cervical level 15, thoracic level 15, lumbar level 15). Subjects were provided with a full explanation of the experimental procedures and all provided written consent signifying their voluntary participation. We used a spirometer (Spirometer, Micromedical Ltd, UK) to measure pulmonary function in the supine and sitting positions (straightened upper body at an angle of $90^{\circ}$). Forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume during the first second (FEV1), tidal volume (TV), and maximum insufflation capacity (MIC) were also measured. FVC, FEV1, TV, MIC (%) were greater in the supine than in the sitting position for those with injury at the cervical or thoracic injury level. On the other hand, FVC, FEV1, TV, MIC (%) were lower in the supine position for those with an injury at the lumbar level. More attention should be paid to the effect of injury level on measured lung capacity.

브래지어 원형 설계 - 75A를 중심으로- (Development of the Basic brassiere pattern - focusing on 75A -)

  • The purpose of this study is to dvelop the basic pattern of wome which are fitting for 75A. The collected data were statistcally processed usig the SPSS 10.0 for Mans Standard Deiation, Cronbach's $\alpha$, etc. This study suggested a size chart for body measurement for constructing basic brssiere patterns with size of 75A. The construction of this experimental brassiere were lower cup, upper cup, front panel and wing and characterized by a round cup wired as well as a full cup embrcing the entire breasts. The drafting method for constructing basic brassiere patterns for 75A was completed by selecting a total of 11subjects, and two wearing tests were carried out with the subjects. the dimensions and shapes of the basic brassiere pattern suggested in this research proved to be fitting and to have a wearing effect that brings together and supports the breasts.

  • 가상 현실(VR)에서 사용자와 동일한 아바타를 시각화하는 것은 몰입도를 증가시킨다. 가상 현실 기술이 발달함에 따라 여러 사용자들의 가상 소셜 네트워킹과 말하는 아바타를 포함하는 다양한 어플리케이션이 늘어난다. 보급형 가상현실 기기에서 사용자의 얼굴 전체와 몸 동작 캡처를 위한 디바이스 정보가 부족하기 때문에 대부분의 가상현실 애플리케이션은 대화하는 얼굴과 몸을 나타내지 않는다. 우리는 오디오와 동기화되어 대화하는 가상 얼굴을 위해, 가상현실 어플리케이션을 대상으로 하는, 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 우리의 시스템은 단일 사용자 애플리케이션에서 사용자 자신과 동기화된 아바타를 실험한다. 단일 사용자 환경에서는 자신의 아바타를 미러링 하고 다중 사용자 환경에서 동기화된 대화 파트너를 시각화 하여 동기화된 대화 아바타의 구현한다. 우리는 사실적으로 대화하는 아바타가 동기화되지 않은 말하는 아바타나 보이지 않는 아바타보다 더 영향력이 있다는 것을 사용자 스터디로 검증한다.

고령자의 신체 기능이 의복 착용 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Physical Functions on Clothing Behavior of Elderly People)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of physical functions of elderly people on their clothing behavior and to provide basic information about manufacturing comfortable apparels for the elderly. A total of 219 people, with ages between 60s and 70s, participated in the survey and in the experiment to correlate their tendency of wearing clothes with the state of their physical functions. About 78.5% of the elderly showed eyesight deterioration in the subjective evaluation. Elders in their 60s raised their arms higher up in overhead reach, and showed shorter distance between middle fingertips in behind back stretch and in back scratch than elders in their 70s. Also, the former stretched farther to the floor in standing trunk flexion, and maintained more steady in one leg stand and in tandem stance than the latter. The narrower the movement range of the upper limb joints was, the more the elderly preferred upper garments with full front opening to those with half or no opening. The more inflexible the upper limbs and waist and the more unbalanced the body was, the more likely the elderly put on pants while sitting on the floor. The time taken to button up the shirt and to put on and take off pants showed a positive correlation with the overhead reach, the behind back stretch, the back scratch and the standing trunk flexion, whereas the former showed a negative correlation with the one leg stand and the tandem stance.

기능성 브래지어 패턴디자인 연구 -돌출.하수 유방유형을 중심으로- (A Study on the functional pattern design for brassiere-focusing on large-breasted women-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop designs and patterns of a functional brassiere. For this purpose, women who have protruding and drooping breasts with 75B for their brassiere size were sampled. The fitting test for the fitness and function of test brassiere and control brassiere were carried out twice and compared the results from the both in terms of front, rear and side looks. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. The results from measuring the level of sag and spread, and volume and protrusion of breasts shows that there are some distinctive differences in the measurements before and after wearing the test brassiere and the test brassiere is proved to be very effective in correcting breasts' shapes. 2. Front look: Since the two front cutting lines of the test brassiere served to have the curved main part pressing against the breasts, it could support breasts to more than satisfactory level. In addition, upperline panel and side panels of the test brassiere were found to have the upperline of the upper cup pressed against the breasts and at the same time it pressed and gathered the flab around upper part of the breasts and armpits that helped to rearrange the shape of the breasts. It is also proved that the two-pieced test brassier was found to be more functional in supporting the lower cup of the breasts. 3. Rear look: The test brassier was made up of two wide U-shaped wings with 2.5cm tape on its lower sides. Each wing has 4 lines and 3 hems (5.5cm). For this reason, the test brassiere was tighter and better fitted on its back. 4. Side look and entire look: The wings of the test brassiere might look wider than that of the control brassier which has conventional straight-shaped wings, but it was analyzed that the test brassiere held the upper and lower sides of the wings more effectively to be more pressed against the breast. Therefore, the test brassiere scored higher in terms of adjusting to body movements, while the control brassiere looked better in overall terms. 5. The functional brassier fur protruding and drooping breasts developed from the experiments of this study is a full side stretch brassiere which covers the entire breasts satisfactorily. A Study for the Development of the Aerobic Exercise Equipment through Cooperation between Design and Engineering Fields - Focusing on the Development of Elliptical Cross Trainer

  • It is expected that the typical lifestyle of the future will be transformed into an opulent and comfortable existence as the quality of life improves due to the increase in household income and reduction in working hours. In the meantime, as the standard of living becomes increasingly more comfortable and plentiful, the toll on physical health becomes magnified as a result of obesity and insufficient exercise caused by super nutrition and change in labor conditions. This has instigated a deep awareness in fitness on the part of many people, forcing them to recognize the significance of daily exercise and physical activity. The Elliptical Cross Trainer(ECT), which has drawn wide attention recently, is a non-impact athletic apparatus that not only promotes exercise of the upper body parts in such sports as skiing but also the exercise of lower parts of the body on a treadmill. It is a type of cross training athletic gear that has been developed for aerobic exercise throughout the entire body. It has already formed a market as big as that of the treadmill in Europe, America, etc. Recently, its demand is growing sharply in the Korean markets as well as those in Northeast Asian countries. Despite such demand increase and expansion, since most of the expensive ECTs are exclusively supplied by suppliers in only a few advanced countries, localization of the ECT is urgently required in order to enhance competitiveness of Korean manufacturers and to expand the market. The ECT development project has been in full swing for approximately two year since 2004 in order to secure independent design, as well as engineering and manufacturing processes in efforts to develop a commercially viable ECT.

철선일체형 데크 플레이트 구조성능평가를 위한 실험적 연구 (Test research of Structural Safety for Steel Wire-Integrated Deck Plate System)

  • 일체형 삼각 트러스 형태의 철선을 아연도금 강판에 용접한 철선일체형 데크 플레이트는 슬래브 시공 시 현장시공 최소 및 동바리와 지보공 등 거푸집 공사비 절감을 목적으로 개발되어 이미 많은 현장에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 철선일체형 데크 플레이트 시스템의 구조성능 평가를 위해 상부철선, 하부철선, 래티스 철선, 경간, 단부가공방법을 변수로 채택하여 총 32개의 시험체를 실물크기로 제작하여 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 시험체의 최종파괴형태 변화 및 단부가공방법이 시험체의 구조 성능에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 경간 3.2m 시험체는 래티스 철선으로 ${\Phi}4.5$를 사용해도 큰 무리가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
