The importance and necessity of convergence research to solve complexity and diversity of research problems is more increasing. For successful convergence research, connectivity beyond the boundary and distance between disciplines is a key factor. To understand the current status and characteristics of connectivity among researchers, we investigated the interdisciplinary relationships among 487 researchers' disciplines in a university by using network anaylsis. The results showed that (1) connectivity between similar disciplines were higher than different disciplines, (2) the density and cohesion level of connectivity within the same campuses were higher, and (3) network centrality was concentrated in engineering and medicine. Based on these results, the necessity of overcoming boundaries and distances as obstacles to convergence research and the necessity of diversification of centrality were proposed. While previous studies mainly analyzed the research outcomes, this study is meaningful because it analyzed researchers' connectivity and collaborative structures in the actual convergence research procedures.

In this work, Self-adaptive Differential Evolutionary (SaDE) algorithm is proposed to solve Optimal Location and Size of Capacitor (OLSC) problem in radial distribution networks. To obtain the SaDE algorithm, two improvements have been applied on control parameters of mutation and crossover operators. To expand the study, three load conditions have been considered, i.e., constant, varying and effective loads. Objective function is introduced for the load conditions. The annual cost is fitness of problem, in addition to this cost, CPU time, voltage profile, active power loss and total installed capacitor banks and their related costs have been used for comparisons. To confirm the ability of each improvements of SaDE, the improvements are studied both in separate and simultaneous conditions. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, it is tested on IEEE 10-bus and 34-bus radial distribution networks and compared with other approaches.

Researchers in science and technology has broadened the scope of research in order to solve complex problems, academic exchange has also been actively carried out. If the paper which is a mean of interdisciplinary approach has a limited term and the formula, it can act as barriers to access for many researchers in various fields. This paper proposes a cross-validation method for eliminating documentary barriers based on discrete event system formalism. We expect that our proposed method will improve a cross-validation considering researchers in another fields.

Purpose: This paper was written to introduce methods of using the research ethics committee (RES) from requesting the initial review to reporting the close-out for nursing researchers. Methods: General ethical principles were described by reviewing the 'Bioethics and Safety Act' and other related guidelines, and constructing some questions and answers. Results: The results were composed of three parts; definition of RES, steps in using RES, and archiving. The 7 steps for using RES were; identifying whether the study needed to be reviewed, by the RES identifying whether the study could be exempted, requesting the initial review after preparing documents, requesting the re-review, requesting an amendment review, requesting a continuing review and reporting the close-out. Conclusion: Nursing researchers need to receive RES approval before starting nursing research involving human subjects. Nursing researchers are urged to use the steps reported in this paper to receive RES approval easily and quickly.

The emergence of systems biology in the 21st century is changing the paradigm of biomedical research. Whereas the reductionist approaches focus on components rather than time or contexts, systems biology focus more on interrelationships, dynamics, and contexts. The key ideas of the systems biology shares much with the philosophy of Korean Medicine(KM) and therefore, the paradigm shift is shedding light on understanding the mechanism of action of KM at system level. In this article, I provide a guide to learning systems biology for KM researchers using online learning resources. Thanks to the recent development of MOOC(massive open online courses) and other online learning platforms, learners can access to plenty of high-quality resources from top-tier universities in the world. I expect this guide help researchers to employ systems biology methods into their KM researches, and will lead to the development of future curricula for training "bi-lingual" experts, KM and computational approaches.

Objectives: Sample surveys have been increasingly used by Korean medical doctors for many studies. We present how to conduct higher quality sample surveys in Korea. Methods: According to the 11 principal steps for sample surveys, the concrete issues that academic researchers tend to overlook are illustrated and a variety of methods for improving survey quality are discussed. Results: The survey statistics produced by some researchers could be subject to large errors. This would be mainly due to misunderstandings about the system of principles called survey methodology. The best strategy for avoiding these errors will be to follow the suggested guidelines. Conclusions: For the development of traditional Korean medicine, the role of survey studies is important. Conducting surveys of a better quality based on survey methodology will be beneficial to researchers.

Purpose - This study reviews the past studies that have researched Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as a well-known supply chain collaboration program. The main goals of this study are to figure out how VMI brings significant benefits to the supply chain system and suggest additional areas that future studies would address to discover the true nature of VMI. Research design, data, methodology - This study conducts literature reviews on numerous studies that have researched VMI. The past studies are classified in terms of several main issues that have been commonly addressed by many researchers. This study also identifies three key collaborative features of VMI, which possibly explain why VMI improves the supply chain performance. Results - This study finds out that most past studies focused on a limited research issues about VMI. Many researchers have considered integrated decision making and information sharing to be key features that enables VMI to improve the supply chain performance. Conclusions - Based on the findings from the literature review, this study suggests that future studies on VMI take account of new research issues and pay attention to cost payment that researchers have rarely addressed.

The purpose of this study is to figure out how the tightened research ethics influences in researcher's activities. In addition, I also researched that how reflection researcher performance can encourage the researchers' activities. The results show the two conditions affect the researcher's activities. It is important to analyze researcher's attitude at the oint of intensifying research ethics. For this study, I surveyed 152 professors and conducted correlation analysis and regression analysis with SPSS 12.0.

In this study, the researchers analyzed the 2015 revised 3rd~6th grade Korean mathematics textbooks from the aspects of social justice in mathematics education. For this study, the researchers constructed a textbook analysis framework for social justice subjects, which categorized by social issues, economy education, democratic education, personality education, safety education, environmental education, and career education. As a result, the 2015 revised elementary mathematics textbooks were reflected the subject matter of social justice in the order of social issues, economic education and democratic education, personality education and environmental education, safety education and career education. Also, the subject of social justice appears in all 3rd~6th grade mathematics textbooks, but it is not explicitly dealt with by combining it with mathematical content. The researchers suggested that mathematics lessons should be developed including social justice issues aligned with elementary mathematics contents.

Deep learning algorithms are becoming more prevalent in dental research because they are utilized in everyday activities. However, dental researchers and clinicians find it challenging to interpret deep learning studies. This review aimed to provide an overview of the general concept of deep learning and current deep learning research in dental radiographic image analysis. In addition, the process of implementing deep learning research is described. Deep-learning-based algorithmic models perform well in classification, object detection, and segmentation tasks, making it possible to automatically diagnose oral lesions and anatomical structures. The deep learning model can enhance the decision-making process for researchers and clinicians. This review may be useful to dental researchers who are currently evaluating and assessing deep learning studies in the field of dentistry.
