The cytotoxicity-directed fractionation of MeOH extract of Terminalia chebula fruits led to the isolation of three hydrolyzed tannins and a related compound, gallic acid(1), $1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloy-{\beta}-_D/-glucopyranose(II)$,. chebulagic acid (III) and chebulinic acid(IV), as active principles. They were shoen to exhibit moderate cytotoxicity against cultured human tumor cell lines including A-549, SK-OV-3, Sk-MEL-2, XF-498 and HCT-15 in vitro.

Previously, we reported that the n-butanol fraction of Lonicera japonica showed anti-flammatory activity in mice and rats. Several constituents such a loniceroside A and B, flavonoids and iridoids were isolated from this fraction. In this investigation, the anti-inflammatory activity of the major constituents of L. japonica was studied. Loniceroside A, lonicerin and loganin showed anti-inflammatory activity comparable to aspirin.

A series of conformationally controlled 2-PAM derivatives were prepared from 2-acetylpyridine and 2,3-pyrido[b]cycloalkenones in two steps and their reactivities towards parathion poisoned AChE were evaluated. The most planar 2,3-pyrido[b]cyclohexanone oxime methiodide showed an activity comparable to 2-PAM Implying E-syn is that the most active comformation of 2-PAM in the biological system.

The diethyl ether extract of isodon excisus var. coreanus exhibited significant inhibitory activity in aromatase assay. Bioactivity-guided fractionation of the extract led to the isolation of three active compounds: inflexin(ent-1${\alpha}$-hydroxy-3${\beta}$,6a-diacetoxykau r-16-en-11,15-dione) (1), ursolic acid (2), and ursolic acid 3-O-acetate (3).

Post-traumatic hematoma formation is a common complication of contusion. If the hematoma is large enough to aspirate or drain, it can be treated quickly and appropriately. However, if the hematoma is small or concealed by local swelling, it may be overlooked and left untreated. In most cases, a hematoma will resolve following conservative treatment; however, associated infection or muscle fibrosis can occur. Herein, we present the case of a patient with a chin deformity caused by a post-traumatic hematoma. The deformity was treated using botulinum toxin and triamcinolone acetonide injections as minimally invasive treatments. The course of treatment was good.

The method for the chiral analysis of (-)-yatein was developed and the distribution of this component in the plants of three genera like Juniperus, Thuja and Chamaecyparis belonging to Cupressaceae family was examined. The chiral analysis of (-)-yatein from the plants was carried out by high performance liquid chromatography on (R,R)-Whelk-O1 column using 81 v/v% methanol as mobile phase. The yatein content in the leaves of Juniperus was the highest in compare with that of the other two genera, providing the possibility of the chemical discrimination of the plants in Juniperus from the other plants in the Cupressaceae family. In general, the yatein content in the leaves was much higher than that in the twigs. This method could be applied for the quality control of (-)-yatein in the plants belonging to Cupressaceae family.

All ten compounds were isolated from the methanolic extract of the whole plants of Diodia teres through repeated silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. Their chemical structures were elucidated as three iridoid glycosides, asperuloside, geniposidic acid and asperulosidic acid, a coumarin glycoside, scopolin, and six flavonoids, rutin, kaempferol-3-0-rutinoside, quercitrin, astragalin, isoquercitrin and quercetin by spectroscopic analysis.

Vinylated and allylated chrysin analogues were prepared as congeners of prenylated flavonoids and evaluated their anti-inflammatory activity. 8-Substituted chrysin analogues were prepared from 2 -hydroxy-3 -iodo-4 ,6 -dimethoxyacetophenone in 3 steps. 3-Allylated chrysin analogues were prepared from chrysin in 3 steps. Synthesized chrysin analogues (4, 5 and 8) showed moderate inhibitory activities of $PGE_2$ production from LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells.

Breast tissue expanders (TEs) with magnetic infusion ports are labeled "MR Unsafe." Therefore, patients with these implants are typically prevented from undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We report a patient with a total submuscular breast TE who inadvertently underwent an MRI exam. She subsequently developed expander exposure, requiring explantation and autologous reconstruction. The safety profile of TEs with magnetic ports and the use of MRI in patients with these implants is surprisingly controversial. Therefore, we present our case report, a systematic literature review, and propose procedural guidelines to help ensure the safety of patients with TEs with magnetic ports that need to undergo MRI exams.

Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rapidly progressive necrosis of the subcutaneous tissue and fascia, caused by bacterial infection. Usually presenting in the extremities, trunk, or perineum, it is uncommon in the craniofacial or cervical area. Cervicofacial NF is a potentially fatal infection, which should be managed with early detection and intervention. Most cases have a primary odontogenic source of infection, especially when the masticator space is involved. We report a case of masticator space NF that developed without odontogenic origin in a 78-year old female who was treated with prompt surgical drainage and intravenous antibiotics.
