This study is to find the way to solve the expecting financial problems of academic library which has to secure more students than other universities. to be specialized. and to have a growth in quality. due to the decline of birth rate and increase of the number of university students. And also I would like to pave the way for raising funds. which will be the pending issue shortly. through studios and data analysis of the condition and way to collect academic library development fund and university development fund in Korea and America. Especially this study introduce some cases to raising funds at University at Albany. University of Kentucky. University of Cornell and the evaluation for the raise funds at 23 universities in the state of California, USA.

In this study, the actual condition in operating Information Disclosure System and University Information Disclosure was investigated and analyzed for 413 universities which had their own homepages out of the total 414 universities, which were the targets of university information disclosure in 2008. To activate Information Disclosure System of the academic library, how to use Korea Library Statistics Items and National Libraries Operation Assessment Index as the standard of information disclosure, and how to use a national library statistics system effectively were suggested. In addition, to make University Information Disclosure efficient, the amendments about the status of books holdings and library budget were respectively suggested so that the items and contents of disclosure about the status of library support might be disclosed by focusing on the security of finance and the improvement of the academic library. In order to enhance the interest of universities and in society and policy, it is necessary for the academic library to make use of Information Disclosure System and University Information Disclosure as a major means.

The purposes of this article are to raise the quality issues of Korean academic library collections and explore the feasible solutions to resolve the quality problems. To the end a thorough examination on the quality of Korean academic library collections is at the first hand carried out, and then followed is a careful investigation on the various causes of 'surprisingly low quality' of Korean academic library collections. Finally discussed is the solutions to improve the low quality of library collections at both national and individual academic library level. Discussions on this article are based on the sample data with 10 major academic libraries in South Korea.

The academic library has the ideal environment as a facilitator of knowledge creation, as a space where researchers can collaborate and as a creation hub center on campus. Recently, based on the 4th Industrial Revolution and creative theories, the maker space is gradually being introduced into academic libraries in foreign countries. Maker Space of the academic library is the best place to discover new knowledge and interests, practice, and interdisciplinary education. In this study, we propose a plan to introduce the maker space of domestic university libraries through case studies of domestic and overseas university and university libraries.

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning and status of the current service of academic libraries in the aspect of its supporting roles for academic courses. The research methods include an examination of model cases from the U.S.A. and Hong Kong and also an electronic questionnaire survey of 32 academic libraries in Korea(67% response rate). With the result of the research analysis, this study aimed to provide optimal administrative plans in e-learning environment.

Information technology. computers, networks, and the World Wide Web are ubiquitous. Academic libraries have applied information technology over the last ten years. The traditional role of the library as the scholarly information heart of the university is being questioned as information technology makes Information ever more easily accessible. And the recent technological development may alter the fundamental concept or identity of the academic library in the twenty-first century. This paper examines the ways in which information technology have chanced the academic library over the last decades and deals with the logical interrelation of 'information technology' and 'management' in the context of academic libraries in Korea. This study aims to analyze the current status of e-book management and services in academic libraries and identify related issues in the provision of the services. To do that, it performed case studies with A and B university libraries. E-book usage statistics was collected from each library and interviews were conducted with librarians responsible for e-book management and services. The interviews included questions regarding obstacles to e-book management and services and current issues as well as budget and acquisition, access and catalogues, usage, and marketing for e-books. The results show that in both libraries, the usage of e-books is low compared with that of printed books and the usage of e-books has declined recently. This is because of lack of new books with shortage of budget. Also, the most important issue surrounding e-book services is academic library evaluation, enacted by Academic Library Promotion Act in 2015. This study discussed how the criteria for academic library evaluation influence the way the academic libraries acquire and manage e-books.

The intricacies of web development have orchestrated a paradigm shift in academic libraries. The study explored literature on the status of automation of academic libraries and web development in Nigeria. It was established that the functions of library management software are abysmally under-utilized in academic libraries in Nigeria, thus, progression of automation projects remain a swinging pendulum. The paper, therefore, recommends that librarians should acquire the relevant training and plan strategically for all automation projects aimed at incorporating the intricacies of the web and ICTs into library services to fully utilize the functions of the library management systems in line with web developmental stages, thus, be able to compete globally.

The value of the university library to faculty, students, and administrators has long been assumed. In an era of decreasing resources and increasing choices, academic librarians must now find the best ways to measure and demonstrate the value of the library to all of their stakeholders, including faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, administrators, and funders. Techniques to assess and measure value can also help library decision makers select the products and services that provide the highest return on investment (ROI) to the university community. It is important to measure and convey the value of the academic library; it is also possible to increase the value of the library to the university by carefully refocusing the academic library's products and services. In this presentation I will discuss methods and results from a recently completed study in eight countries that measured the value and ROI of e-journals to the grants process. The Return on Investment (ROI) of the e-journals collection to grant funding ranged from over 15:1 to just under 1:1 in 9 institutions. In addition, many other qualitative and quantitative measures of value are as important as derived measures like ROI. Building on that research study, I am now leading a team that includes the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and several university libraries in a project funded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. We are collecting data using on the value of a wide range of library services using several methods for measuring the value of what the university library contributes to the institution and its stakeholders.

There are the national science and technology standard classification system used in Korea, the classification according to the standard classification system for educational organization units, and the Korean standard education classification by the National Statistical Office. It is not suitable for calculation or evaluation, and classification is still mixed depending on the purpose of use. Therefore, in this study, the current status of academic standard classification, issues related to the standard classification system such as research foundation associations and research institutes, and issues related to the academic standard classification through the analysis of existing prior research issues, etc. As a result of the research, first, it is necessary to maintain and strengthen the linkage of the academic classification system, such as maintaining the linkage between the relevant departmental classification systems and strengthening the linkage with the relevant classification system, as a result of analysis of major issues in the academic standard classification system, and the systematic improvement cycle of the revision process and management system and settings are required.
