Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the possible ways to minimize damage by analyzing the influence that may be exerted upon the business process of the distribution industry by unexpected climate change. Research design, data, and methodology - The optimum business process is to be implemented after dividing the diversified business process of the distribution industry into the four stages of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Results - First, the upper-level risks that would be impacted most sensitively by climate change have been selected. Second, the impact and characteristics of the environment have been discovered. Third, weighted values by criteria item of upper-level business risks have been analyzed. Fourth, it was possible to define the business priority order based on the individual and then to adjust the Recovery Time Objective (RTO). Conclusion - In this study, the priority order has been defined quantitatively by calculating the priority order score. Further, the priority order has been determined depending on whether any targeted business unit is applicable to the items of the business nature criteria.

This paper describes a procedure for optimizing the route selection and production conditions in alternate process plans under a cellular manufacturing environment. The type of production is mainly production-to-order which deals with unexpected products as the changes factor. The flexible cellular manufacturing can be viewed as a complete unification of both flexible manufacturing process and flexible production management. The integrated problem for designing flexible cellular manufacturing associated with determining the optimal values of the machining speeds, overtime, and intercell flow is formulated as Nonlinear Mixed Integer Programming(NMIP) in order to minimize total production change cost. This is achieved by introducing the marginal cost analysis into the NMIP, which will compute the optimal machining speed, overtime, intercell flow, and routing. The application of this procedure offers greater flexibility to take advantage of the cellular manufacturing due to the optimum use of resources. A solution procedure for this problem was developed and a numerical example is included.

An investigation of the effects of transverse magnetic field and Peltier effect on melt convection and macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman crystal grosth of Te doped InSb was been carried out by means of microstructure observation, Hall measurement, electrical resistivity measurement and X-ray analysis. Before the experiments, Interface stability, convective instability and suppression of convection by magnetic field were calculated theoretically. After doping 1018, 1019 cm-3 Te in InSb, the temperature of Bridgman furnace was set up at $650^{\circ}C$. The samples were grown in I.D. 11mm, 100mm high quartz tube. The velocity of growth was about 2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. In order to obtain the suppression of convection by magnetic field in the middle of growth, 2-4KG magnetic field was set on the melt. For searching of the shape of solid-liquid interface and the actual velocity of crystal growth, let 2A current flow from solid to liquid for 1second every 50seconds repeatedly (Peltier effect). The grown InSb was polycrystal, and each grain was very sharp. There was no much difference between the sample with and without magnetic field at a point of view of microstructure. For the sample with Peltier effect, the Peltier marks(striation) were observed regularly as expected. Through these marks, it was found that the solid-liquid interface was flat and the actual growth velocity was about 1-2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. On the ground of theoretical calculation, there is thermosolutal convection in the Te doped InSb melt without magnetic field in this growth condition. and if there is more than 1KG magnetic field, the convection is suppressed. Through this experiments, the effective distribution coefficients, koff, were 0.35 in the case of no magnetic field, and 0.45 when the magnetic field is 2KG, 0.7 at 4KG. It was found that the more magnetic field was applied, the more convection was suppressed. But there was some difference between the theoretical calculation and the experiment, the cause of the difference was thought due to the use of some approximated values in theoretical calculation. In addition to these results, the sample with Peltier effect showed unexpected result about the Te distribution in InSb. It looked like no convection and no macrosegregation. It was thought that the unexpected behavior was due to Peltier mark. that is, when the strong current flew the growing sample, the mark was formed by catching Te. As a result of the phenomena, the more Te containing thin layer was made. The layer ruled the Hall measurement. The values of resistivity and mobility of these samples were just a little than those of other reference. It was thought that the reason of this result was that these samples were due to polycrystal, that is, grain boundaries had an influence on this result.
Statement of problem. Prior to determining an optimal width of micropatterned grooves provided on titanium substrata, we have done a pilot study using surface topographies in combined microm and submicrom levels. Purpose. The purpose of this study was twofold 1) to assess the proliferation and 2) to analyze the expression of genes encoding the intracellular signaling proteins involved in cell-substratum adhesions and adhesion-dependent G1 phase cell cycle progression of human gingival fibroblasts plated on smooth and microgrooved/acid-etched titanium substrata. Material and methods. Three groups of titanium discs as NE0 (smooth Ti substrata), E15 (Ti substrata with microgrooves of $15{\mu}m$ of spacing and $3.5{\mu}m$ in depth and with further acidetching), and E30 (Ti substrata with microgrooves of $30{\mu}m$ spacing and $3.5{\mu}m$ in depth and with further acid-etching) served as the human gingival fibroblasts' substrata. Viability and proliferation of fibroblasts were determined using an XTT assay. Gene expressions of fibronectin, ${\alpha}5$ integrin, CDK4, and $p27^{kip}$ were analyzed in RT-PCR. Cell-substratum interactions were analyzed in SEM. Results. From the XTT assay at 24 h incubation, the mean optical density (OD) value of E15 was significantly greater than the values of E30 and NE0. At 48 and 96 h however, the mean OD values of E30 were significantly greater than the values of E15 and NE0. No differences in the expression of PCR transcripts at 96 h incubations were noted between groups, whereas at 48 h, an unexpected increase in the expression of all the transcripts were noted in E15 compared with other two groups. Fibroblasts were observed to orient and adhere inside the microgrooves. Conclusion. Micropatterned grooves and acid-etching on Ti substrata alter viability and gene expression of adhered human gingival fibroblasts.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of university students' entrepreneurial environment and entrepreneurial spirit on their entrepreneurial intentions. The results of the study are as follows. As for the correlation among entrepreneurial environmental factors affecting entrepreneurial intentions of college students, it was confirmed that educational environment, legal system and government support, and social values had static correlation coefficient values. It was predicted that the six detailed hypotheses would be valid and would have an impact, but unexpected results were also derived. First, the hypothesis that the entrepreneurial environment of college students will affect entrepreneurial intention was partially accepted. Employment environment and education environment were dismissed, legal system and government support. It was confirmed that social values had a positive (+) effect on entrepreneurial intention. Second, the hypothesis that entrepreneurship of college students will affect entrepreneurship intention was also partially accepted. Risk sensitivity was rejected, and innovation and initiative were confirmed to have a positive (+) effect.

Average annual NDVI values from the NOAA/NASA Pathfinder AVHRR Land Data Sets from 1982 to 1994 showed comprehensive systematic displacement patterns in Asia. Inter-annual growing season data, however, did not show such systematic patterns. The most likely cause for the abrupt displacements, which appear especially in 1982, 1989 and 1990, may be changes in satellite sensors, although global warming, El Ni$\tilde{n}$o-Southern Oscillation events, changes in processing algorithms, and changes in land-use patterns in various parts of Asia may also play some role. The results suggest that researchers must be extremely careful in their inter-annual global change research, since direct use of the raw data could cause unexpected results. Growing-season NDVI shows decreases throughout most of Southeast Asia and modest gains in northern China and some parts in India, which could be related to land-use and land-cover changes.
Interfacial reactions kinetics often differ from kinetics of bulk reactions. Here, we describe how the density change of an immobilized reactant influences the kinetics of interfacial reactions. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of alkanethiolates on gold were used as a model interface and the Diels-Alder reaction between immobilized quinones and soluble cyclopentadiene was used as a model reaction. The kinetic behavior was studied using varying concentrations of quinones. An unusual threshold density of quinones (${\Gamma}_c$ = 5.2-7.2%), at which the pseudo-first order rate constant started to vary as the reaction progressed, was observed. This unexpected kinetic behavior was attributed to the phase-separation phenomena of multi-component SAMs. Additional experiments using more phase-separated two-component SAMs supported this explanation by revealing a significant decrease in ${\Gamma}_c$ values. When the background hydroxyl group was replaced with carboxylic or phosphoric acid groups, ${\Gamma}_c$ was observed at below 1%. Also, more phase-separated thermodynamically controlled SAMs produced a lower critical density (3% < ${\Gamma}_c$ < 4.9%) than that of the less phaseseparated kinetically controlled SAMs (6.5% < ${\Gamma}_c$ < 8.9%).
Indeterminacy maintains that the simultaneous measurement of object location and speed is theoretically impossible. This study present indeterminacy as a theoretic tool to interpret a variety of expression characteristics that seem disorderly in recent fashion illustrations; in addition, it analyzes the characteristics and meaning of indeterminacy as expressed in fashion illustrations. This study reviews concepts and related theories on indeterminacy to examine characteristics of indeterminacy expressed in the arts and fashion; subsequently, indeterminacy characteristics found in fashion illustrations are analyzed. In expressing the fashion figure, indeterminacy finds expression in a distorted figure transformations that include a hybridized combination of heterogeneous forms that dismantle and reconstruct the human body. The hybridized body of combined machines, animals and plants indicates an indeterminate body endlessly transforming itself. Indeterminate space expression finds expression in space expression by projection with the overlapping and juxtaposition of irrelevant constituent elements as well as a space expression from the insertion of unexpected images. An unclarified inconclusive open space provides space with fluidity, causes space expansion and conveys inconclusive meaning. Indeterminate expressions found in fashion illustrations reveal the ambiguity and complexity of a post-modern society with polysemous aesthetic values and the expanded visual concepts of fashion illustrations.
Automation of programming-error detection is an important part of intelligent programming language tutoring systems. In this paper, a new programming error detection approach for novice programmers is proposed by plan matching and program execution. Program execution result is used to resolve the restricted programming plan representation and to provide a confirming evidence for the plan matching differences. By checking the values of shared variable between the related plans, we can detect the cause-effect relationship between the plans. With this relationship and the test data, we can explain the program's unexpected behaviors according to the bug's cause and resulting effects.

Outliers, unexpected extraordinary observations that look discordant from most observation in a data set are commonplace in various kinds of data analysis. Since the effect of outliers on model identification could be serious, the aim of this paper is to present some ways of handling outliers in given data set and to specify a model in the presence of outliers. A procedure based on neural network which identifies outliers, removes their effects, and specifies a model for the underlying process is proposed. In contrast with traditional parametric methods requiring to estimate the model's structure and parameters before detecting outliers, the proposed procedure is a nonparametric method without the estimation of model's structure and parameters before handling outliers and could be applied for real problems in the presence of outliers. The proposed methodology is performed as followings. Firstly, outliers are detected and the detected outliers replace the prediction values using outliers detection neural network. The data set removing the effect of outliers is retraining using neural network. Therefore the effects of outliers are removed and the modeling precision can be improved. Experimental results show that the proposed method is suitable for predicting data set in the presence of outliers.
