Evaluation of Waterway Dredging Work using Spud Dredge Process Management System (스퍼드 준설선 공정관리시스템을 이용한 항로준설작업의 평가)

  • The most important point when we engage on waterway dredging work is supplying safe navigational passage to the vessels underway by narrowing dredge work area and removing submerged dangers. In order to meet this end it is necessary to use auxiliary equipment for shifting actively and mooring and adopt automation of dredging work by integrating information on real time position, dredging depth, and work information. The dredger with a spud control system in this study, by the way, is able to employed on continuous dredging work with the narrowest working area allowing wide and safe passages to vessels underway, by moving the dredger to the working zone with the spud controlled automatically. Furthermore, it has been improved definitely compared with the existing dredging process management system such that it shows the track of spud and working depth on the electronic navigation chart of window, together with the final outcome of dredging work. The test dredging work at the entrance of Busan North Port for system evaluation showed that actual working time available was twice of the one by the existing anchor system, and that it reduced $38\%$ of time for preparation work and one man power.

  • After a short description of the telescope, we will report on the recent developments in three main areas: - Commissioning of the last of LBT's first generation instruments, now well underway, - Adaptive Optics (AO) and ground-layer AO progress and planned upgrades, - Interferometry first science results. We will also explore the future of the facility as it moves to full operation and strive to be the first of the ELTs in the decade-long window in which GMT, TMT, and E-ELT break ground and start taking shape.

  • Now in Korea, the 7th curriculum reform is underway. The main difference of the seventh curriculum compared with former curricula is that it puts much emphasis on individual difference. It is a "differentiated" curriculum. The basic directions of the 7th mathematics curriculum are as follows: 1. Offer various mathematical subjects for "Selective Educational Period" (Grades 11 and 12). 2. 30% reduction of mathematical contents. 3. The reconciliation of domain names of school mathematics. 4. The use of computers and calculators in mathematics classrooms.

  • The Nuclear power industry today faces a serious and rapidly emerging problem in reactor maintenance and occupational radiation exposure control. The basic problem is the need for much maintenance on nuclear power plants. The problem is seriously compounded by radiation exposure control requirements. Many studies are underway seeking solutions tut the industry is developing rapidly and new plants will not await the results of such studies. It is essential that attention be given to maintenance and exposure control in all phases of plant design, construction and operation.

  • Two sea survey instruments were introduced: continuous underway fish egg sampler (CUFES) and an airborne light detecting and ranging (LIDAR) for survey of epiplegic fish. We have used CUFES in ichthyoplankton surveys primarily for Pacific sardine (Sardinop sagax) eggs off California since 1996 and it is also being used in many parts of world for sardine and anchovy egg surveys.   • To solve the energy problem and finding new growth engines, interest for the smart grid is increasing and related technologies are making great efforts to secure in the world. AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Among them is the first to be constructed and getting attention as a key component of smart grid. A fusion of various technologies in technology development and demonstration is underway on Jeju Island Smart Grid Demonstration Complex in Korea, and focusing on broadband power line communication technology infrastructure is actively underway in Korea Electric Power Corporation. AMI system using power line communication technology without building a separate communication lines are available for power supply lines, but communication is impossible in occurs because admission to the power company or the ideal infrastructure for communication is not considered. In this paper, we analyze the requirements to build AMI system using Binary CDMA and powerline communications technology, and design the basic communication protocol based on Binary CDMA, implement network management and relay feature. By doing so, ways to apply Ad-hoc Binary CDMA indigenous technology to the AMI system were derived, and could build a system to make use of Wired (PLC) and wireless (Binary CDMA) simultaneously.

  • Recently, BIM is used at several areas actively because of introduction of BIM in the construction industry. In particular, the recent many studies on activation of BIM information sharing is underway and it is the future direction of BIM. Moreover, it should be clearly realized. In the BIM levels of domestic construction phase, Interference Review, calculating volume estimates in part based on the active research is underway. However, still interested in reviewing building codes have relatively little interest. As BIM enabled, The methods of reviewing building codes should be transformed into a automated system by using information of BIM. In overseas, they are already using diverse softwares for reviewing modeling. Thus, For an automatic review of building regulations research is needed. this study is research on the development Domestic building codes as an automatic review process by using BIM. In order to Automatic review of the current building regulations by using BIM, this study analyzes the characteristics of each piece of information.

  • With the development of an eco-friendly environment and the automobile industry, research is being actively conducted to increase thermal efficiency and reduce exhaust gas through complete combustion in internal combustion engine vehicles. In particular, research is underway to increase engine load and output by understanding the volatility and combustion characteristics of gasoline, and research is underway to reduce soot and harmful gases and realize optimal efficiency based on the distillation and combustion characteristics of diesel fuel. . Therefore, in this study, based on the contents of KS M ISO 3045 on the distillation test method for petroleum products according to the Korean industrial standard, distillation experiments were conducted based on gasoline and diesel from 4 refineries marketed and used in Korea. The distillation experiment confirmed the correlation with the distillation temperature according to the amount of distillation, and the distillation characteristics were analyzed by comparing the distilled fuel to confirm the suitability of meeting the test standards.

  • Several large scale reclamation projects are being underway along the coastal line in Korea. Therefore the large quantity of economical backfill material is necessary to cope with the shortage of dredged soil. In this study, the amount of volume reduction of dredged soil from detention basin was evaluated based on the laboratory tests. The percentage of soil particles in dredged organic soil is about 12.5∼21.9% by weight. The content of heavy metal and environmental effect for dredged soil itself and solidified dredged soil were analysed and the results are far below than those of environmental requirement.
