수중폭발을 이용한 충격신관 작동 계측 (Measurement of the Impact Fuze Phenomena using the Underwater Explosion)

  • In this paper, This study shows the content on the impact fuze test and the measurement using underwater explosion phenomena. The impact fuze has both a delay function and a super quick. Up to now, nothing but the naked eye of the observer has been used to verify performance of the impact fuze. The observer has determined the performance by the shape of the plume created from the explosion phenomenon. However, it is extremely difficult to use that method at a long range. In order to solve the problem, the measurement using the underwater explosion phenomena was tried.

  • In this paper, the measurement method of the decoupling performance of a underwater decoupling material is studied. First, the simple vibro-acoustic coupled model of a multi-layered underwater decoupling material attached to a plate is analytically derived using impedance transfer matrix. Two test methods are introduced using the theoretical expression of the simple model. One is based on the ratio of the plate vibration and the radiated pressure under impact excitation of the plate. The other is based on the reciprocity theorem and uses the ratio of the incident pressure and the plate vibration under projector excitation in water. Some measurements are carried out according to the test methods using a pulse tube. The test results show the advantages and disadvantages of two methods. It is also shown that the combination of impact and projector excitation methods may be a useful tool to evaluate the performance of a underwater decoupling material.

수중 프로펠러 명음 현상의 규명에 관한 연구 (A study on the identification of underwater propeller singing phenomenon)

  • 본 논문은 모형 프로펠러를 대상으로 공동수조 시험, 수중 충격시험, 유한요소해석 및 전산유체해석에 기반하여 수행한 명음 발생 메커니즘 연구이다. 선미 유동을 모사하기 위해 반류망, 프로펠러 및 방향타를 설치하고 수중청음기와 가속도계로 프로펠러 명음 현상의 발생과 소멸을 계측하였다. 유한요소해석을 통해 프로펠러 날개의 고유진동수를 예측하고 접촉 및 비접촉식 충격시험으로 이를 검증하였다. RANS(Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식 기반 전산유체해석을 통하여 프로펠러 날개 각 단면의 유속과 유효 받음각을 계산하였으며, DES(Detached Eddy Simulation) 기반 고해상도 해석을 통해 명음 발생 위치에서 2-D 날개 단면 뒷전의 와류흘림주파수(vortex shedding frequency) 계산을 수행하였다. 수치적으로 예측된 와류흘림주파수는 모형시험으로 계측한 명음 발생 주파수 및 날개 고유진동수와 일치함을 확인하였다.

무폭약 시험 장치 개발을 위한 수중폭발 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Underwater Explosion for the Development of a Non-Explosive Test System)

  • This study deals with underwater explosion (UNDEX) characteristics of various non-explosive underwater shock sources for the development of non-explosive underwater shock testing devices. UNDEX can neutralize ships' structure and the equipment onboard causing serious damage to combat and survivability. The shock proof performance of naval ships has been for a long time studied through simulations, but full-scale Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) using real explosives have been limited due to the high risk and cost. For this reason, many researches have been tried to develop full scale ship shock tests without using actual explosives. In this study, experiments were conducted to find the characteristics of the underwater shock waves from actual explosive and non-explosive shock sources such as the airbag inflators and Vaporizing Foil Actuator (VFA). In order to derive the empirical equation for the maximum pressure value of the underwater shock wave generated by the non-explosive impact source, repeated experiments were conducted according to the number and distance. In addition, a Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) technique, which is a frequency-based function, was used to compare the response of floating bodies generated by underwater shock waves from each explosion source. In order to compare the magnitude of the underwater shock waves generated by each explosion source, Keel Shock Factor (KSF), which is a measure for estimating the amount of shock experienced by a naval ship from an underwater explosionan, was used.

수중 대구경강관말뚝의 항타관입성 모니터링을 위한 PDA 적용 사례 (Drivability Monitoring of Large Diameter Underwater Steel Pipe Pile Using Pile Driving Analyzer.)

  • When pile foundation constructed by driving method, it is desirable to perform monitoring and estimation of pile drivability and bearing capacity using some suitable tools. Dynamic Pile Monitoring yields information regarding the hammer, driving system, and pile and soil behaviour that can be used to confirm the assumptions of wave equation analysis. Dynamic Pile Monitoring is performed with the Pile Driving Analyser. The Pile Driving Analyser (PDA) uses wave propagation theory to compute numerous variables that fully describe the condition of the hammer-pile-soil system in real time, following each hammer impact. This approach allows immediate field verification of hammer performance, driving efficiency, and an estimate of pile capacity. The PDA has been used widely as a most effective control method of pile installations. A set of PDA test was performed at the site of Donghea-1 Gas Platform Jacket which is located east of Ulsan. The drilling core sediments of location of jacket subsoil are composed of mud and sand, silt. In this case study, the results of PDA test which was applied to measurement and estimation of large diameter open ended steel pipe pile driven by underwater hydraulic hammer, MHU-800S, at the marine sediments were summarized.

해저 표준관입시험 장비의 밀폐형 항타부 CFD 해석 (CFD Analysis of Underwater Standard Penetration Test Equipment)

  • In our study, a closed-type penetration unit for standard penetration test (SPT) equipment was developed in order to operate in an underwater environment. This type causes energy dissipation, mainly due to the small gap between an airtight case and moving hammer. The dissipation was estimated through a CFD analysis. The computed dissipated energy was less than 1.2% compared to the potential energy of the hammer with the given gap. Subsequently, the impact energy of the underwater SPT equipment was within 1.2% of that for the SPT equipment on land.

  • 수중 암반 제거 방법은 화약을 사용한 수중발파와 크레인에 장착된 쇄암봉 낙하 충격을 이용하는 방법 등이 널리 이용된다. 이와 같은 암반 제거 방법은 환경적인 요인에서 지반 진동과 수중 소음을 유발하게 된다. 본 연구 대상 현장은 하역 부두의 접안능력을 향상시키기 위해 기 설치된 잔교식 돌핀 구조물에 근접한 지역의 수중 기반암을 쇄암봉 낙하에 의해 제거하도록 설계되어 있다. 시험시공을 통하여 쇄암봉 낙하 충격으로 유발되는 진동에 대한 계측, 평가를 거쳐 진동 추정식을 획득하였고, 이를 본 공사에 반영하여 구조물에 대한 안전성을 확보하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 선수부에 프로펠러를 갖는 수중운동체의 연직면 조종성능을 추정하기 위해 저항시험, 연직면 사항시험, VPMM 시험을 부산대학교 예인수조에서 수행하였다. 연직면 사항시험은 대각도에서 발생하는 횡교차력 성분을 고려하기 위해 -40도에서 40도 범위 내에서 수행하였다. 프로펠러의 회전 상태는 특정 rpm으로 회전하는 경우와 예인속도에 맞춰 자연스럽게 프로펠러가 회전하는 경우로 나눠 시험을 수행하였다. 구속모형 시험을 통해 수중운동체의 연직면 조종 유체력 미계수를 추정하였으며 최종적으로 동유체력 미계수를 기반으로 연직면 동적 안정성지수를 산정하고 프로펠러 회전 상태가 동적 안정성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 시험 결과는 전방에 프로펠러를 갖는 수중운동체의 조종시험 참고자료로서 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • A track-type underwater construction robot (URI-R) was developed by the Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology. Because URI-R uses tracks to move on the seabed, insufficient ground strength may hinder its movement. For smooth operation of URI-R on the seabed, it is important to determine the geotechnical properties of the seabed. To determine these properties, standard penetration test (SPT), cone penetration test (CPT), and sampling are used on land. However, these tests cannot be applied on the seabed due to a high cost owing to the vessel, crane, sampler, and analysis time. To overcome these problems, a free fall cone penetration tester (FFCPT) is being developed. The FFCPT is a device that acquires the geotechnical properties during impact/penetration/finish phases by free fall in water. Depth information is crucial during soil data acquisition. As the FFCPT cannot measure the penetration depth directly, it is estimated indirectly using acceleration. The estimated penetration depth was verified by results of real tests conducted on land.

OKPO 300 진동 특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Vibration Characteristics of OKPO 300)

  • This paper presents experimental results for the vibration characteristics of the small unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) OPKO 300, which was designed and manufactured by Daewoo ship and Marine Engineering Ltd. The autonomy of UUVs has led to an increase in their use in scientific, military, and commercial areas because their autonomy makes it possible for UUVs to be utilized instead of humans in hazardous missions such as mine countermeasure missions (MCM). Since it is impossible to use devices based on electromagnetic waves to gather information in an underwater environment, only sonar systems, which use sound waves, can be used in underwater environments, and their performance can strongly affect the autonomy of a UUV. Since a thruster system, which combines a motor and propeller in a single structure, is widely used as the propulsion system of a UUV and is mounted on the outside of a UUV’s stern, it can generate vibration, which can be transferred throughout the shell of the UUV from its stern to its bow. The transferred vibration can affect the performance of various sonar systems such as side-scan sonar or forward-looking sonar. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the effect of the transferred vibration of the UUV on the sonar systems. Even if various numerical methods were used to analyze the vibration problem of a UUV, it would be hard to predict the vibration phenomena of a UUV at the initial design stage. In this work, an experimental study using OKPO 300 and an impact hammer was carried out to analyze the vibration feature of a small real UUV in the air. The frequency response function of the vibration based on the experimental results is presented.
