취약계층 아동의 구강건강증진 실천프로그램 적용 및 평가 (Oral Health Promotion Program Application and Effect for Underprivileged Lower Grade Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to apply an effective oral health promotion program and effect for underprivileged lower grade students. This study attempted to resolve some oral health inequality issues by providing underprivileged children with an oral health action program designed to promote positive oral health maintenance habits. Methods: This study was carried from May to August of 2009 with 77(control group 27 subjects, experimental group 36 subjects) elementary school students selected among first to third graders attending regional welfare center's after school program in Seoul. To the control group, conventional education methods were applied. To the experimental group, newly designed program was conducted by three project experts(1 expert, 1 dentist, 1 dental hygienist). It consisted of 5 sessions and progressed with various activities. It was focused on achieving target knowledge and changing oral health behavior. In order to evaluate the designed educational program, learners' achievement was evaluated with implementing the questionnaire and one-on-one interviews. And also the oral health improvement was evaluated based on change of Patient Hygiene Performance(PHP) index. Results: Based on the results of learners' achievement, the experimental group showed the significant increment of the oral health knowledge by the relapsed time, and it maintained after finished the program(p<0.001). The patient hygiene performance index showed not significant changed(p>0.05), but 1 month later the control group showed an increment of the PHP score, but the experimental group showed a decrement of it. Conclusions: Oral health promotion program by project approach could give a long-lasting educational effect to the children and encouraged proper oral hygiene behavioral changes.

노인의 옥외환경 이용에 대한 Push and Pull 요인 연구 - 전주시 도시재생 테스트베드 사업지역을 중심으로- (A Study on the Push and Pull Factors Affecting the Use of Outdoor Environments for the Elderly : Focus on the Case of Testbed in Jeonju)

  • As longevity of human-beings is extended and the population of aged people increases, diverse issues related with the aged people are presented. The neighborhood space for the aged people is required to be designed based upon the understanding of such difficulties of the elderly and the public outdoor environment is an important environmental resource that can enhance the quality of life and promote the health of the elderly in underprivileged area without burdening them economically. This study aims to research the daily life of the elderly in underprivileged urban area and their utilization styles of outdoor environments in order to find out the push factors and pull factors that induce the aged people to use the outdoor environments. For this purpose, this study carried out an interview survey upon 69 elderly residents and surveyed on 363 elderly residents of low income class who are aged 60 and over and living in decaying area in Jeonju. For the analysis of the collected data, a qualitative and a quantitative analysis were accomplished. As results of study, the elderly in underprivileged area use such outdoor environments as resting facilities, exercise equipment, parks, farming gardens and waterfronts, and the push factors for them to use the outdoor environments were sordid indoor spaces, sense of isolation or loneliness, and the desire for maintaining good health. And the pull factors for them to use the outdoor environments were natural factors, opportunities for social interactions, space for exercise. The obstacles that hinder the elderly in using outdoor environments were the bad health of the elderly, lack of facilities, accessibility and weather conditions. Thus, the results of this study are expected to provide basic data for designing the outdoor environments to promote the health of the elderly in urban underprivileged area and to relieve the burdensome problems related with ageing societies.

숲 체험 활동이 소외계층 아동의 정서, 생활만족 및 자아탄력성에 미치는 긍정적 효과 연구 (A Study on the Positive Effects of Forest Activities for Children from Economically Underprivileged Households on Their Emotional State, Life Satisfaction, and Ego-resilience)

  • This study aimed to verify the positive effects of forest activities for children from economically underprivileged households in local children's centers and the effect of such activities on the protective factors of their development. One hundred and eighty five children participated in the Forest Activities Program, which conducted over a total 8 sessions. Pre-post tests of the subjective well-being scale, DAS, multiple life satisfaction scale, ego-resilience scale were conducted and the children then made picture stories during the program itself. The results of the analysis of differences between pre-post tests were as follows: first, the negative emotions of participating children decreased significantly. Second, the school-satisfaction and self-satisfaction levels of the participating children increased. Third the participating children's positive perceptions of self and interpersonal relationships also increased through the forest activities. Finally, there were differences of the change types of picture stories that children created while they were participating in the program; and these divergences were related to the effectiveness of the program. These forest activities had positive effects upon the economically disadvantaged children who participated in this study. However, in order to increase the effects of such forest activities qualitatively, greater support for the active involvement of children is required.

지위일치.불일치 유형에 따른 피복비 지출에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Status Type on Clothing Expenditures: Status Consistency and Status Inconsistency)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of consumer's status type (status consistency and status inconsistency) on clothing expenditures. Data were obtained from Urban Household Economy Survey published by the National Statistical Office. Multiple regression analyses of variance and Scheffe tests were4 utilized in this study. The effect of the status inconsistency was categorized by three variables such as education occupation and income levels of households. The overprivileged status group which had higher levels of income than the levels of occupation of education spent most on clothing whereas the underprivileged status group which had higher levels of income than the levels of occupation of education spent least on clothing. This study showed that there were significant differences in clothing expenditures among status groups classified by levels of income and education or by levels of income and occupation. Among status group classified by levels of education and income there was a significant difference in clothing expenditures between overprivileged status group and underprivileged status group. In conclusion income has the strongest effect on the clothing expenditures. The results of study can help to understand consumer buying behavior and also give insights of marketing strategy in the apparel industry.

주거시설의 유니버설 디자인을 위한 활동실태조사 및 불편 설계요소 개선 절차 제안 (Investigation of Perceived Discomforts and Suggestion of a Procedure for the Universal Design of Housing)

  • This study examined perceived discomforts encountered in residential facilities such as individual houses and apartments, and suggested a procedure for improving the problems in the living residence. The participants consisted of two groups of people: normal and underprivileged people; the underprivileged group was classified into 3 sub-groups: elderly people (over 65 years old), handicapped people and pregnant women. To identify inconvenient places and design factors in the residential housing, a total of 200 subjects (50 for each group) participated in the survey using the 7-point Likert scale. As a result, all the user groups mainly answered a high degree of discomfort due to narrow parking places, doorsills, and height differences between floors. The elderly, the handicapped, and the pregnant women replied that it is uncomfortable to use ramps and utility rooms. In a follow-up study, one-to-one in-depth interviews were conducted with some of the participants to analyze the detailed causes of inconvenient places and design factors. This study also suggested the procedure for solving the problems in various design factors from perspective of universal design, by considering prior studies which focused on a certain user group like the elderly. This procedure was suggested to consider as many user groups as possible at the same time. The results can be used to understand the discomforts of various user groups on residential housing. The procedure can also be used to develop universal design guidelines for the living residence.

농촌지역 주거약자를 위한 주택 리모델링 지원사업 개선방향 설정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement related with the House Remodeling Support Program for Underprivileged Group in Rural Area)

  • In rural areas, in spite of the development projects of town and houses has been performed after the New Community Movement, due to rapid industrialization and urbanization, which lasted until the 2000s from the 1980s, out-migration to the cities, changes in the industrial structure, rapid aging was carried. As a result, the gap of housing environment between urban and rural areas became more serious. The meantime, the housing problem is recognized only to the problems of the big cities, mostly urban public housing policy oriented. However, when you check the indicator of the housing environment, such as the percentage of aging housing, rural environment has become a relatively poor compared to the city. In addition, due to a decrease in income and aging of the population living in rural areas of existing infrastructure to improve the living environment is weakened. And inside of the rural areas, changes in the housing environment and polarization phenomenon is becoming increasingly serious. Therefore, in this study, there is a purpose to be presented the improvement direction for efficient implementation of house remodeling support program for underprivileged group in rural areas and requires immediate attention improvement of housing environment. Previously, House remodeling support project in rural areas was carried out at the initiative of local governments and government mainly. For this reason, it is difficult due to limited institutional, to reflect the necessary parts directly to the real life of the residents. And, the demand for improvement of housing environment need modifications to solve the inconvenience of life of residents directly in many cases. It is considered that community-based house remodeling support project is to be carried out through the participation of local residents.

지역사회복지관을 이용하는 빈곤가정 부모의 청소년자녀 진로지원경험 연구 (A Qualitative Study on Experience of Parents Who Use Community Welfare Center Supporting Their Children's Career in the Underprivileged Families)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 빈곤가정에서 청소년 자녀를 양육하고 진로를 지원하는 과정에서의 역할과노력, 어려움과 과제를 탐색하려는 것이다. 이를 위해 전국의 11개 지역사회복지관을 이용하고있는 빈곤가정 부모를 대상으로 초점집단 인터뷰를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료에 대한 주제분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 자녀의 진로지원 과정에서 부모가 겪는 어려움, 자녀의 진로지원을위한 부모의 노력, 도움이 된 사회적 지원과 앞으로의 과제들이 다양하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 자녀를 둔 빈곤가정에서 자녀의 진로를 지원하는데 도움이 될 수있는 가족중심 실천과제와 지역사회복지관의 역할에 대해 제언하였다.

소외 계층 학생들의 과학 학습 유형 (Minority Students' Learning Patterns in Science Class)

  • 다문화, 탈북, 저소득층 등의 소외 계층 학생들이 증가하면서 그들의 학습을 돕기 위한 많은 연구가 과학 교육에서도 필요하다. 소외계층 학생들의 다양한 성장 배경과 학습 환경으로 인해 집단 전체 특성보다는 집단 내 개인 특성의 차이가 크다. 이에 본 연구에서는 소외 계층 학생 7명을 대상으로 약 50시간 동안의 과학 수업을 하고 수업 관찰과 면담을 통해 그들의 과학 학습의 특성을 파악하여 범주화했다. 7명의 소외 계층 학생들은 5개의 다른 학습 특성을 보였고 이에 따라 '과학에 빠져있다', '과학을 안다고 생각한다', '과학을 알고 싶다', '과학을 알 필요가 있다', '무엇을 원하는지 모른다' 등 5개 유형으로 구분할 수 있었다. 그들이 경험한 과학 활동이 교육적으로 모두 우수한 수준을 갖춘 것은 아니었지만, 과학 활동 경험만으로도 그들의 과학 학습 흥미와 욕구는 커졌다. 공적 제도 하에서만 과학 학습 경험이 가능한 이들 소외 계층 학생들에게 더 풍부한 과학 활동 경험과 교육 기회를 제공할 필요성을 보여준다.

영국 및 호주의 고등교육 포용성 정책 비교 분석 (An Analysis of Inclusive Higher Education Policies in the UK and Australia)

  • 본 연구에서는 영국과 호주의 고등교육 포용성 정책에 대한 비교 분석을 통하여 우리나라의 고등교육 분야지속가능발전 목표(SDG 4.3)의 달성을 위한 시사점을 제안하고자 하였다. 영국과 호주를 분석대상으로 선택한 이유는 양국 모두 2000년대 초반부터 대학생활의 전주기(입학~졸업) 측면에서 고등교육의 포용성을 강화하는 정책들을 추진하고 있기 때문이다. 양국 사례 분석을 통해 도출한 우리나라의 SDG 4.3 실현을 위한 정책적 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등교육의 포용성 강화를 위해서는 소외계층 개념을 '소득 수준'에서 탈피하여 '인종, 지역, 문화 등'으로 확대하여 접근할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 소외계층에 대한 고등교육 지원 범위를 입학기회의 확대로부터 대학생활 적응과 진로개척 등을 포함한 '대학생활의 전주기'로 확장할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 소외계층 집단별로 경험하는 고등교육 장벽에 대한 조사를 토대로 집단별 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 지원을 제공할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 정부 차원에서 소외계층 고등교육 지원을 위한 지역 파트너십 구축을 지원할 필요가 있다.

  • 코로나19로 무인·비대면 중심의 디지털 대전환이 가속화되고 있다. 디지털 문명처럼 디지털 시대로 변해가지만, 디지털을 사용하지 못하는 사람에게는 일상 속 불편이 디지털 문맹 수준으로 하락하고 있다. 디지털 사용자와 비사용자 간의 사회적 격차가 생기고 디지털 비사용자는 사회에서 분리되는 상황이 발생하고 있다. 디지털 소외계층의 디지털 사회화를 위해 디지털 세계로의 전환이 가속화되고 일상생활에서 디지털 사용능력이 중요시되고 있다. 디지털 세계로의 전환이 가속화될수록 개인의 사회적·경제적 차이가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 문제로 인해 사회의 지속 가능 성장을 저해하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 교육을 누구나 편리하게 받기 위해서 국민 누구나 받을 수 있는 교육으로 접근성이 뛰어난 교육 모델을 설계하고자 한다. 일생 생활에 필요한 디지털 기본역량을 단계적으로 제안하고 편하게 받을 수 있는 디지털 종합 역량교육을 통하여 생활의 불편함을 해소하고 보편적으로 사용할 수 있는 디지털 교육 모델을 제안하고자 한다.
