  • 최근 역타시공법 등에 의한 콘크리트 구조물의 시공이 증가 추세에 있다. 이 경우, 자주 발생되는 신 구타설 콘크리트 시공이음부의 공극은 향후 구조물의 구조적인 특성과 내구성 등에 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 그러나 현재 제안되고 있는 비파괴 검사법으로는 효과적으로 이음부 공극을 평가하기에 많은 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 시공이음부의 콘크리트 충전상태를 평가하기 위해 철골철근 콘크리트와 무근 콘크리트 시험체내에 공극을 모의제작한 후, 초음파속도 측정을 실시하고, 화상처리기법을 이용하여 비교적 용이하게 해석 가능한 방법에 대해 검토하였다.

레일용접부의 건전성평가를 위한 고정밀 초음파 거리진폭특성곡선의 구축 (Construction of High-Precision Ultrasonics Distance Amplitude Characteristics Curve for Integrity Evaluation of Rail Weld Zone)

  • This study proposes integrity evaluation method of weld zone in rails using high precision distance amplitude characteristics curve(DACC) and ultrasonic signals. For these purposes, the ultrasonic signals for defects(porosity and crack) of weld zone in rails are acquired in the type of time series data and echo strength. 6 lines in the DACC indicated damage evaluation standard of weld zone in rails. The aquired ultrasonic signals agree fairly well with the mesured results of reference block and sensitivity block(defect location, beam propagation distance, echo strength, etc). The proposed high precision DACC in this study can be used for integrity evaluation of weld zone in rails.

  • The aim of this study was to develop an ultrasonic tooth-whitening apparatus using piezoelectric transducers, which enhance bleaching efficiency by applying ultrasound, while performing a teeth whitening procedure. For this purpose, an ultrasonic transducer was designed and manufactured, and the effects of reduction in the whitening material's concentration and in the whitening treatment time through using the ultrasound cavitation phenomenon were confirmed. Also, the validity of this study was investigated by comparing the whitening performance with a commercialized optical whitener, through color comparison. The results revealed that the ultrasound whitener produced color values that were enhanced by as much as double that of the conventional LED light whitening method. Even when the operational time was reduced by half, the ultrasound method showed superior performance by over 54% compared to the conventional light whitener, revealing that the ultrasound method showed a remarkable treatment reduction effect.

  • A technique on the detection of tool wear based on the ultrasonic pulse-echo method in turning process is presented. The change in amount of the reflected energy from nose and flank of the tool can be related to the level of tool wear and mechanical integrity of the tool, that is, there exists an excellent correlation between the ultrasonic measurement and tool wear. As a results, the method is very useful for the prediction of cutting tool life and the determination of tool exchange period.

  • It is advantageous to use an NDE method to assess the mechanical properties of materials since the conventional method is time-consuming and sometimes requires cutting of sample from the material/component. This paper shows that the ultrasonic and the Barkhausen noise(BHN) methods can be used to accurately characterize forged reactor vessels. The attenuation coefficient of the ultrasonic wave was changed with heat treatment temperature and condition[as-quenched, tempered, PWHT]. The RMS[root mean square] voltage of Barkhausen noise depended on heat treatment temperature and conditions. The fracture appearance transition temperature(FATT) can be predicted using nondestructive evaluation methods.

  • This paper shows shear wave behavior of CFRP composite laminates as a polar grid form to evaluate vibration pattern of ultrasonic transducers, which gives measured modelling fundamental contents of nondestructive evaluation. Polarized direction can be obtained by using a c-scanner and sensitivity of transducers is founded when using through-transmission method of two transducers. And modelling of vector decomposition is presented based on ply-to-ply method to apply practicable nondestructive evaluation of CFRP laminate lay up. This modelling decomposes the transmission of linearly polarized wave into orthogonal components through each ply of a laminate. It is found that a high provable shows between the model and experimental developed in characterizing layup of CFRP composite laminates.

  • Application of bonding by adhesives can be found in many industries, particularly in advanced technological domains such as the aeronautical and space industries, automobile manufacture, and electronics. Periodic inspection with conventional ultrasonic NDE techniques is capable of indicating the presence and possible location of crack. Continuous ultrasonic attenuation monitoring has potential to supply information. This study used adhesive-bonded single-lap joints specimen to evaluate such possibility by ultrasonic signal processing method.

So, mechanical properties of concrete may be reduced. So, concrete at high temperature is evaluated mechanical properties for safety inspection. However, research of ultrasonic method is not much. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to NDT(non-destructive test) of 30, 70, 110MPa concrete exposed high temperature using ultrasonic pulse velocity.
