초음파 가스 유량계 개발 연구 (Study on the Development of Ultrasonic Gas Flowmeter)

  • Ultrasonic flowmeters have more advantages than the conventional method using pressure-difference. In these reasons, many advanced nations are already selling the commercial model. In RIST, we have been developed ultrasonic gas flow meter for the localization since a project was been contracted with POSCO in 1997. This paper describes a new ultrasonic gas flowmeter. This ultrasonic gas flowmeter is developed for accurate measurement of gases in a harsh environmental conditions. It is especially suited for measuring LDG. COG, BFG gases produced in iron & steel making process. In this study, we had developed the commercial model about the first tested model and applied a completed system to the POSCO gas line. Its performance has been proven by extensive field tests for several months in POSCO, iron & steel making company.

  • We investigate the ultrasonic gas flow meter for the measurement of gas volume quantity, which passing through pipe, using the transit time difference method. We have designed a receiving system of an ultrasonic signal and hardware system of a flow meter Also, we have designed an experimental system for the characteristic test and calibration of a gas flow meter system. We have developed an ultrasonic gas flow meter, which has a measurement uncertainty within $\pm$ 1.7 %. For the test, we have compared our system with a difference pressure type flow meter for a few months in the real field. Through the test, we have confirmed that our system have a good reliability and durability. Also, we have confirmed that our system follows very well the variation of gas volume quantity, which was measured by a difference pressure type flow meter.

  • Recently, ultrasonic testing simulation has becomes very important in the field of nondestructive evaluation due to its unique capability of providing testing signals without real inspection. The ultrasonic testing simulation requires three elementary models including the transducer beam radiation model, the flaw scattering model, and the reception model. In the present work, we briefly describe an approach to develop the ultrasonic testing model together with its elementary models with the multi-gaussian beam model. Based on this approach, we developed ultrasonic testing simulation program with MATLAB. The performance of the developed program is demonstrated by the predicting of ultrasonic signals from two types of flaws, circulars crack and spheres.

  • 최근 구조물 품질관리 중요성이 높아짐에 따라 구조물의 피해 없이 품질평가가 가능한 비파괴시험의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 다양한 현장조건에 대한 경험 및 이해가 충분치 않아 아직 실내 연구개발에 중점을 두고 있는 경우가 많다. 본 연구는 초음파 탐사법의 현장 적용성을 평가하기 위하여 현장 제작 후 증기양생 된 PC보에 본 기법을 적용하여 보았다. 현장 조건과 동일한 조건에서 양생된18개의 실린더를 제작하여 재령 60일까지 재료특성 변화를 관찰한 후, 이를 제작 후 인장작업 전의 34개의 PC보에서 측정한 초음파속도와 비교하였다. 측정 결과 현장 타설된 PC보의 압축강도 및 탄성계수를 합리적 범위 내에서 초음파탐사법을 사용하여 추정할 수 있었다. 하지만, 초음파 탐사법의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해서는 현장 조건에 대한 고려가 선행되어야 할 것이다.

재료내 기공결함에 의한 SH형 초음파 원거리 산란장의 신호특성에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on the Signal Characteristics for Scattered Far-field of Ultrasonic SH-Wave by the Internal Cavity)

  • In this study, the scattered far-field due to a cavity embedded in infinite media subjected to the incident SH-wave was calculated by the boundary element method. The effects of cavity shape and distance between internal cavity and internal point in infinite media were considered. The scattered far-field of the frequency domain was transformed into the signal of the time domain by using the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform(IFFT). It was found that the amplitude of scattered signal in time domain decreased with the increase of the distance between the detecting points of ultrasonic scattered field and the center of internal cavity in media. In addition, the time delay was clearly found in time domain waveform as the distance between the detecting points of ultrasonic scattered field and the center of internal cavity was gradually increased.

자기테이프용 Metal Powder의 초음파 분산에 의한 자기적 특성 향상에 관한 연구 (Study on Magnetic Property Enhancement of Metal Powders for Magnetic Tape by Using Ultrasonic Dispersion)

  • It was investigated the effect of ultrasonic treatment on magnetic property of ultra fine magnetic Fe powders ($\alpha$-Fe) for magnetic tape. The properties were characterized with vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), particle size analyzer (PSA) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). At 4hours ultrasonic treatment of 70 kHz, magnetic properties such as squareness ratio (S.Q. : 0.8868), orientation ratio (O.R. : 2.45) and switching field distribution (S.F. D. : 0.394) before taping were relatively enhanced. Cumulative particle size distribution of less than 5$\mu\textrm{m}$ fine powder was above 90% below 1 hour leaving time after ultrasonic treatment and it was supposed that ultrasonic treatment prevent aggregation. The magnetic values of S.Q. and S.F.D. of tape manufactured at 70 kHz and 4hour ultrasonic treatment were improved from 0.7747, 0.3818 to 0.8037, 0.3706, respectively. Electro-magnetic property used as in-output signal characteristic was improved, which showed that ultrasonic treatment developed the magnetic properties.

2차원 배열 수중청음기를 이용한 생체조직에서의 초음파 음장 전파특성 측정 (Measurement of Ultrasonic Field Propagation Characteristics in Biological Tissues Using a Two-dimensional Array Hydrophone)

  • 음향특성이 균일하지 않는 생체조직은 특정의 형태 유지가 어렵기 때문에 종래의 극소형 수중청음기의 스캐닝 방법에 의한 초음파 음장 전파특성 측정이 곤란하다. 본 연구에서는 PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) 압전막을 사용하여 2차원 배열 수중청음기를 제작하고, 그것에 의한 음장 측정 시스템을 구축한 후, 생체조직에 적용하였다. 중심주파수 2.25 ㎒이고 직경이 13㎜인 원형평면 트랜스듀서에 의한 실험 결과, 구축한 시스템에 의해 비교적 정밀한 음장 측정이 가능한 것을 알았으며, 그 주파수에 대해 소와 돼지의 간에서는 각각 0.7∼l.3dB/cm (평균; 1.0 dB/cm), 1.0∼l.8 dB/cm (평균; 1.6 dB/cm), 근육에서는 각각 0.9∼2.9 dB/cm (평균; 2.1dB/cm), 1.7∼3.3 dB/cm (평균: 2.5 dB/cm)의 값을 갖는 감쇠계수의 공간적 분포를 측정할 수 있었다.

초음파를 이용한 미세조류 연속분리공정 (Continuous Microalgae Separation Process Using Ultrasonic Waves)

  • Research for renewable energy is being performed since it has the merits of little pollution of the environment and sustainable energy resources. Microalgae is attractive as a renewable energy resource. Biomass of the microalgae can be produced by mass culturing, and bulk harvest technology of is needed to produce biomass continuously. Recently, ultrasonic waves were used to harvest the cultivated microalgae continuously. In this study, the separation process using ultrasonic waves was performed to effectively harvest the microalgae. An ultrasonic wave separation resonator was designed and manufactured based on the acoustic field analysis. Separation experiments using design of experiment were carried out, and the influence of experimental variables from the ultrasonic wave separation process was investigated. Mixing conditions of variables were estimated to obtain high separation efficiency and a large microalgae harvest. Experimental results for suitable mixing conditions were compared with simulation results calculated from the state equation.

풍차형 초음파 전동기의 고정자 슬롯이 토크에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Stator`s Slot on the Torque in the Windmill Type Ultrasonic Motor)

  • In this paper, a windmill type ultrasonic motor operated by single-Phase AC electric field was fabricated, and then torque characteristics were investigated. A metal-ceramic composite component was used as the stator\`s vibrator to generate ultrasonic vibrations. The windmill type ultrasonic motors has only three components; a stator element with two wind-mill shape slotted metal endcaps, a rotor and a bearing. In this parer we measured torque, when stator\`s slot was changed Iron 4, 6, 8. Brass metal was pressed with umbrella-type using metal molt then slot of 3 kind was manufactured. The maximum revolution speed was 388(rpm) in the case of a small ultrasonic motor of 11.35 mm diameter, 8 slot and 1.01 mm thickness. The maximum torque of 0.17 mNm was obtained at a speed of 131 rpm.
