A laboratory investigation was conducted to characterize the constitutive property behavior of Cor-Tuf, an ultra-high-performance composite concrete. Mechanical property tests (hydrostatic compression, unconfined compression (UC), triaxial compression (TXC), unconfined direct pull (DP), uniaxial strain, and uniaxial-strain-load/constant-volumetric-strain tests) were performed on specimens prepared from concrete mixtures with and without steel fibers. From the UC and TXC test results, compression failure surfaces were developed for both sets of specimens. Both failure surfaces exhibited a continuous increase in maximum principal stress difference with increasing confining stress. The DP tests results determined the unconfined tensile strengths of the two mixtures. The tensile strength of each mixture was less than the generally assumed tensile strength for conventional strength concrete, which is 10 percent of the unconfined compressive strength. Both concretes behaved similarly, but Cor-Tuf with steel fibers exhibited slightly greater strength with increased confining pressure, and Cor-Tuf without steel fibers displayed slightly greater compressibility.
Recently ultra high strength steels(UHSS) has been widely applied to the structural or safety components in the automotive industry. Specially, hot stamping boron steel 22MnB5 has shown the crash-resistant characteristics when applying to bumpers and pillars. Lap joint Laser welding of the hot stamped and die quenched sheets of Boron steel was carried out using 3kW Nd/YAG laser. The appropriate Lap joint laser welding conditions were founded separately for four lap joint combinations. The lower sheest is a hot stamped sheet in common and the upper sheet is selected among the hot stamped steel and high strength steels such as SPCC, 370MPa, and 590MPa grade high strength steels. Cross bead sections and local hardening and softening were observed as well as tensile-shear test results.
In this study a new innovative method of earthquake-resistant strengthening of reinforced concrete structures is presented for the first time. Strengthening according to this new method consists of the construction of steel fiber ultra-high-strength concrete jackets without conventional reinforcement which is usually applied in the construction of conventional reinforced concrete jackets. An innovative solution is proposed also for the first time that ensures a satisfactory seismic performance of existing reinforced concrete structures, strengthened by using composite materials. The weak point of the use of such materials in repairing and strengthening of old R/C structures is the area of beam-column joints. According to the proposed solution, the joints can be strengthened with a steel fiber ultra-high-strength concrete jacket, while strengthening of columns can be achieved by using CFRPs. The experimental results showed that the performance of the subassemblage strengthened with the proposed mixed solution was much better than that of the subassemblage retrofitted completely with CFRPs.

Ultra high strength steels(UHSS) are widely used to fill the needs of lightweight part for automobile, and the control of springback is very important (actor in sheet metal forming using UHSS. In this study, to lighten the center floor side member(CFSM) which is normally manufactured using $600{\sim}800MPa$ steel sheet, new design of the manufacturing process for CFSM using APFC980 has been proposed. To accomplish this goal, the influence of process variables such as die corner radius and die wall angle on the springback were investigated using FE-analysis. In order to insure the validity of FE-analysis, the springback results of FE-analysis was verified with prototype product.
The use of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) from steel industries waste is showing perspective application in civil engineering as partial substitute to cement. Use of such waste conserves natural resources and minimizes the space required for landfill. The GGBFS used in the present work is of ultra fine size and hence serves as micro filler. In this paper strength and durability characteristics of ultra fine slag based high strength concrete (HSC) (with a characteristic compressive strength of 50 MPa) were studied. Cement was replaced with ultra fine slag in different percentages of 5, 10, and 15% to study the compressive strength, porosity, resistances against sulfate attack, sorptivity and chloride ion penetration. The experiments to study compressive strength were conducted for different ages of concrete such as 7, 28, 56, and 90 days. From the detailed investigations with 16 mix combinations, 10% ultra fine slag give better results in terms of strength and durability characteristics.

In ultra-high strength SFRCC(Steel Fiber Reinforced Cementious Composites), much silica fume are used to improve strength, flowability and durability. Silica fume have merits of filling the voids, enhancement of reheological chracteristics, production of secondary hydrates by pozzolanic reaction in reactive powder concretes. However silica fume has been imported in high-cost in domestic industry, we need to investigate replaceable material in stead of silica fume in a view of economy Therefore, in this paper, in order to investigate replacement of silica fume in ultra-high strength SFRCC we used the granulate blast-furnce slag with finess 4000, 6000, 8000. As a results, we have evaluated that the bigger the finess the more increase compressive strength of ultra-high strength SFRCC using the blast-furnce slag and there was no problem from the viewpoint of flowability and compressive strength when we use blast-furnce $50\%$ with replacement ratio of silica fume
The biggest topics in the automobile industry are light weightening and fuel efficiency improvement. There's a lot of research going on. It is focused on light weight materials. Light weight material is seen as the best way to reduce fuel consumption and to solve the problem of environmental pollution and resource depletion. For the light weight materials, new materials such as aluminum, magnesium, and carbon-hardening materials can be found. Research on the joining techniques of dual materials, improvement of material properties by improving the method of manufacture of existing materials, and studies on ultra-high strength steel sheets are expected to take up the most weight in lightweight materials. As the strength of the ultra-high strength steel sheets increases during forming, it is difficult to obtain dimensional precision due to the increase in elastic restoring force compared to mild or high strength steel sheets. Spring back is known to be affected by a number of factors due to poor plastic molding, and can be divided into the effects of the material spraying and the process. The study on the plasticitic variables were studied as plasticitic factors that can be controlled by a part company. Tensile testing of ultra-high strength materials was conducted to derive properties for plasticitic analysis and to analyze spring back with two factors controlling the height of the bead and blank holding force by adding tensile force and controlling the flow rate.

Ultra high strength steel fiber-reinforced concrete is characterized with high tensile strength and ductility. This paper revealed the influence of fiber volume fraction on the tensile softening behaviour of ultra high strength steel fiber-reinforced concrete and developed tensile softening model to predict the deformation capacity by finite element method analysis with experimental results. The initial stiffness of ultra high strength steel fiber-reinforced concrete was constant irrespective of fiber volume fraction. The increase of fiber volume fraction improved the flexural tensile strength and caused more brittle softening behaviour. Finite element method analysis proposed by Uchida et al. was introduced to obtain the tensile softening curve from three point notched beam test results and we proposed the tensile softening model as a function of fiber volume fraction and critical crack width.
This study experimentally investigates the flexural behavior of steel-UHPC composite slabs composed of an innovative negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) steel plate and Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) slab connected via demountable high-strength bolt shear connectors. Eight demountable composite slab specimens were fabricated and tested under traditional four-point bending method. The effects of loading histories (positive and negative bending moment), types of steel plate (NPR steel plate and Q355 steel plate) and spacings of high-strength bolts (150 mm, 200 mm and 250 mm) on the flexural behavior of demountable composite slab, including failure mode, load-deflection curve, interface relative slip, crack width and sectional strain distribution, were evaluated. The results revealed that under positive bending moment, the failure mode of composite slabs employing NPR steel plate was distinct from that with Q355 steel plate, which exhibited that part of high-strength bolts was cut off, part of pre-embedded padded extension nuts was pulled out, and UHPC collapsed due to instantaneous instability and etc. Besides, under the same spacing of high-strength bolts, NPR steel plate availably delayed and restrained the relative slip between steel plate and UHPC plate, thus significantly enhanced the cooperative deformation capacity, flexural stiffness and load capacity for composite slabs further. While under negative bending moment, NPR steel plate effectively improved the flexural capacity and deformation characteristics of composite slabs, but it has no obvious effect on the initial flexural stiffness of composite slabs. Meanwhile, the excellent crack-width control ability for UHPC endowed composite members with better durability. Furthermore, according to the sectional strain distribution analysis, due to the negative Poisson's ratio effect and high yield strength of NPR steel plate, the tensile strain between NPR steel plate and UHPC layer held strain compatibility during the whole loading process, and the magnitude of upward movement for sectional plastic neutral axis could be ignored with the increase of positive bending moment.
A major source of difficulty in die design for high strength steel is the high level of elastic recovery during unloading. The degree of elastic recovery is affected by factors such as material strength, bending angle, punch's corner radius and sheet thickness. Finite Element Method was used in the present work to quantitatively analyze the elastic recovery for various combinations of these parameters. In some cases elastic recovery happened in reverse direction. This phenomenon, which we call spring-go, was explained via changes in stress distribution in the panel occurring in the forming process.
