  • The ultraviolet absorption spectra of AcBr lignin (Acetyl Bromide lignin) from 10 species grown in Mt. Jiri were determined. There were 3 peak positions, at 249nm (max peak), at 267-268 nm (shallow min. peak) and at 280 nm (lower max. peak). The Bjorkman lignin and lignin sulfonic acid spectra had shoulders, but the AcBr lignin had not them. Average absorbances and absorptivities of the AcBr lignins at peak positions were $0.367{\pm}0.0015$, $24.56{\pm}0.0535$, at 249 nm, $0.278{\pm}0.0016$, $18.50{\pm}0.0569$, at 267-268 nm and $0.306{\pm}0.0016$, $20.42{\pm}0.0627$ at 280 nm, respectively.

  • To study stability of distilled herbal medicine, we chose changes in UV spectrum, pH, conductivity, and HPLC chromatogram. Aconiti Lateralis preparata Radix and Scutellariae Radix were selected and studied. There ws no consistancy in UV spectrums of preparatons and in duration. The changes in pH and conductivity were not correlated to those in UV spectrums. HPLC chromatograms were also compared each other depending on the preparations. One interesting peak of distilled Aconiti solution was appeared at 40 min retention time which was not identified yet. Ingeneral, UV spectrum, pH, conductivity measurements are pretty poor tool to study stability of herbal medicine although HPLC analysis should be studied further.

  • The toxic substance causing blown blotching on the mushroom cap was extracted and purified from the culture broth of P.tolaasii. Purification and identification of the toxic compound was carried out with the silica gel chromatography, mass spectrum and NMR and appeared to be an aminobenzene in amylamine group. The purified toxic substance showed UV spectrum at 234nm and melting point at $76^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • Because do dilution (5%) in Venzotriazol distilled water and is kept UV interception departure woe which make to time each 1, 2, 5, 15, 20, 30 minutes by dip method, produced sample ore of UV interception lens. Spectrum of transmittance for each sample are measured in 320~450nm sacred grounds. The result optical absorption edge is each 403, 408, 414, 419nm regions, and absorption edge appeared in each band of 3.07, 3.04, 2.99, 2.96 eV. UV-cut lens departure solution make 2-Hydroxy-4-n-octoxyhenzophenones of 5%, 10% because solvent methanol and UV-cut lens made by Spray pyrolysis method. Transmission edge of each lens that do spray to same warelength showed sameinwavelength spectra. Being storehouse absorption edgethat increase 385, 398 and 417nm region of when do spray for 2, 4 and 6 minutes, band is accomplishing each 3.22, 3.11, 2.97 eV.

  • The optical absorption and transmittance of cow' crystalline were measured by spectrophotometer in the 200~800nm wavelength regions. The optical absorptions of crystalline composed of a high absorption band in the UV-A, UV-B, and appeared the light transmittance edge in the 400nm wavelength region, and completely transmitted without the absorption in the high wavelength regions than 400nm. Also, the optical absorption and transmittance had no temperature dependence. The optical transmittance spectrum of crystalline concord with the thin film structure of $n_0/(0.5H)L(LH)^6(0.5H)/n_s$ and $n_0{\mid}(0.5LH0.5L)^kL/1.25{\mid}4.0$ of long-pass edge filter form. In the artificial crystalline and inter lens layout, long-pass edge filter layout can UV cut off.

  • The photoisomerization of functional polyimide was investigated in the various temperatures and UV(360nm) & visible(450nm) light irradiation. The absorption spectrum of azobenzene containing polyamic acid in a mixture of N,N-dimethylacetamide and benzene(1:1 by volume) solution was induced photoisomerization by UV and visible light irradiation. The absorption spectrum of LB films are also induced photoisomerization by UV and visible light irradiation.

  • In contrast to the $\pi$ -conjugated polymers which typically absorb light only in the visible spectral region, the $\sigma$-conjugated polymers can be used as efficient material absorbing light in the UV region. In this work, the electronic and optical properties of I$_2$-doped $\sigma$ -conjugated poly (methyl-phenylsilylene) (PMPSi) polymer were investigated. DC conductivity up to 1.2$\times$10$^{-4}$ S/cm was obtained by I$_2$-doping. In UV/Vis absorbance spectrum, a new peak was observed near 370 nm, which was explained by polaron model. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity decreased with increasing degree of I$_2$-doping, and the Infrared (IR) spectrum analysis revealed that the dopants are not directly coupled to the polymer, but effect motions of the methyl and phenyl groups.

  • The major pungent component from Korean radish roots was purified by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RPHPLC), and characterized as 4-methylthio-3-butenyl isothiocyanate on the basis of the sensory test (pungency), UV spectrum and mass spectrum analysis. The purified isothiocyanate moved as a single peak(retention time, 5.2 min) in RP-HPLC analysis, and as a single spot(Rf, 0.9) in TLC analysis.

  • We obtained the UV cut-off effect of tinted CR-39 Ophthalmic lens with the respect of concentration of green, brown, blue color. First, we analyzed the UV spectrum of tinted CR-39 lens measured by Spectrophotometer and then compared the UV data by Spectrophotometer with UV data by UV tester used in an optician shop. The result obtained show that the UV cut-off effect is increased with color concentration of tinted CR-39 lens, and the transmittance of 0%~5% at 400nm by Spectrophotometer is correspondence with transmittance of 0% by UV tester.
