UV-LED 경화형 칼라 코팅의 경화특성 연구 (Curing Properties of UV-LED Curable Color Coating)

  • 본 연구는 UV-LED 경화형 칼라코팅에 대한 경화특성에 관한 것으로, 특히 UV-LED 파장(365, 395, 405 nm), 불활성 기체, 증감제 및 Dual curing에 따른 경화성을 평가하였다. 광경화 과정과 코팅 도막의 Film-air (FA) interface와 Film-substrate (FS) interface에서 존재하는 미반응 아크릴레이트에 대한 평가는 Photo-DSC와 FT-IR/ATR을 이용하여 각각 조사하였다. Photo-DSC 측정 결과 발열량과 전환율은 405 nm UV-LED를 이용한 코팅 시스템의 경우가 395 및 365 nm UV-LED를 사용한 경우보다 높게 나타났다. UV-LED 경화형 시스템은 전반적으로 Film-substrate (FS) interface의 경화도가 높은 것으로 나타나 후막경화가 우수함을 알 수 있었으나, Film-air (FA) interface의 표면 경화도는 산소저해 현상으로 인해 매우 낮음을 FT-IR/ATR 결과를 통해 확인하였다. 이러한 낮은 표면 경화도는 불활성 기체인 질소를 사용하거나 Dual curing 방법을 도입함으로써 개선할 수 있었다.

  • 우레탄 아크릴레이트에 montmorillonite(MMT)를 첨가한 UV 경화형 나노복합체 제조 시 사용하는 광개시제의 종류에 따른 기계적 성질 및 내흡수성을 조사하였다. 1 wt%의 MMT가 첨가될 경우 가장 우수한 인장강도와 내흡수성을 나타내었으며, 광개시제의 경우 기존의 benzyldimethylketal 계열 광개시제와 bisacyl phosphine oxide 계열의 광개시제를 함께 사용할 경우 3 wt%의 MMT 함량에서도 사용된 UV 램프의 방출 파장대인 340~450 nm에서의 광흡수가 강화되어 나노복합체의 경화거동에 보다 효과적인 것으로 확인되었다.

  • In this work the novel potential epoxy resins, were synthesized and acrylated. Their structures were confirmed by means of FTIR, $^1H NMR, and^{13}/C NMR$ spectroscopies. Also, we were to note the effect of W curing on functional group changes of VE/UP blend system after UV curing.

약한 광중합과 열경화를 이용한 곡면 미세 표면주름 제작 (Fabrication of Microscale Wrinkles on a Curved Surface Using Weak-Polymerization and Thermal Curing Process)

  • In this study, we proposed an effective and simple way to directly generate wrinkle patterns on a curved surface. A curved surface was prepared using a 3D printer and an UV (Ultraviolet)-lighting system was utilized to weakly polymerize the UV-curable thin resin layer coated on the surface, resulting in a gradient of material properties in the layer thickness. Subsequently, a thermal curing process was conducted to generate microscale wrinkles by compressive forces that were generated during complete curing. Wrinkle shapes from 5, 15, 25 sec of UV-light exposure were compared. With increasing UV-exposure, the line-width of wrinkles became thicker due to much higher strength of skin zone. The results indicated that the proposed fabrication process could be utilized for surface modification in diverse research fields.

컴팩트한 Spot형 UV 경화기 광학계를 구현하기 위한 TIR 렌즈 설계 및 응용에 관한 연구 (A study on the Design and Application of a TIR Lens for Realizing A Compact Spot-Type UV Curing Machine Optical System)

  • 종래의 spot형 UV경화기는 복수의 렌즈를 이용한 collimator 광학계를 구성하여 광속을 광케이블로 입사하도록 하고 있다. 전달 광 효율을 높이기 위해 3매 이상의 렌즈로 구성된 collimator 광학계가 필요하며 이에 따라 광학계 정렬에 어려움이 있고, 시스템을 컴팩트하게 구현하기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 3매 렌즈로 구성된 collimator 광학계와 동등한 수준의 스폿 직경 및 광 효율을 구현할 수 있는 단일 TIR 렌즈 collimator 설계하였다. 이를 통해 최소 조도 편차를 갖는 경화 위치에서의 광 효율이 33.2 % 수준으로 참조 collimator 광학계의 성능과 유사한 수준을 확보하였고, 경화면에서의 조도 편차는 18.8 % 수준으로 양호한 성능을 확보하였다. 또한, 이미지 면에서의 조도 평탄화 기능을 갖는 fly-eye lens를 condensing 렌즈 앞단에 배치함으로써, TIR 렌즈만 적용한 경화 광학계와 비교할 때, 유효 경화영역 직경이 5.0 mm에서 3.0 mm 로 줄어 보다 높은 경화 에너지 밀도를 구현할 수 있었으며, 조도 편차는 14.4 % 수준으로 현격히 개선할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The ultraviolet(UV)-curable materials are widely used in inks and coatings. In this paper is designed to develop materials having flexibility and functionality with UV-curable acrylate monomer and alkyd resin. At first, phase diagram is prepared for miscibility of UV -curable acrylate monomer with alkyd resin. Also the gel fraction and dynamic viscosity are measured to curing speed of mixing system. In results, it has been demonstrated that miscibility and curing speed are greatly influenced by alkyd resin content.

Surface and Dielectric Properties of Oriental Lacquer Films Modified by UV-Curable Silicone Acrylate

  • In order to achieve an oriental lacquer (OL) film with a thick consistency, UV-curable silicone acrylate (SA) was added to OL by a dual curing process. The addition of 5 wt% UV-curable SA to the OL fomulation enabled the preparation via a single drying step of a $77{\mu}m-thick$ film exhibiting excellent surface properties. FTIR-ATR was used to investigate the effect of UV-curable SA on the behavior of film formation during curing, and the relaxation behavior of the produced films was investigated by dielectric spectroscopy. Dielectric properties were measured in the frequency range $10^{-2}-10^5\;Hz$ at various temperatures between -100 and $200^{\circ}C$. The results demonstrated that OL modified by UV-curable SA has a higher glass transition temperature and stronger secondary relaxation at a lower temperature than the conventional OL system. The OL film modified with UV-curable SA was presumed to be harder at the surface and tougher than conventional OL film.

  • UV curing technology becomes important in various sectors of applications due to the high efficiency, environmental protection, and saving of energy. The effect of different proportion of vinylester (VE) and unsaturated polyester (UP) for VE/UP blend system was investigated in context of mechanical properties. The compositions of VE/UP blend were varied within 0:100, 20:80, 40:60, 60:40, 80:20, and 100:0 by weight percent. 1 wt% 1-hydroxy-cyclohexyl-phenyl-ketone was used as photoinitiator. The used intensity of UV light was in the range of $40~70 mW/\textrm{cm}^2$. The flexural strength of vinylester was not sensitive to the intensity of UV light. But the unsaturated polyester was very sensitive to the intensity of UV light. The flexural strength of vinylester was always superior to that of unsaturated polyester. The addition of the vinylester increased the flexural strength of blend system.

Flame-retardant Coating of Cotton Fabric via UV curing of DMEP

  • A new UV-curable coating was carried out to impart the flame-retardant property to cotton fabric using Bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ehtyl]phosphate(DMEP) and 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-propan-l-one(HMPP) as a UV-curable monomer and a photoinitiator, respectively. The cotton fabrics were applied with various amounts of DMEP and HMPP via padding and UV irradiation, and the optimal concentrations of DMEP and HMPP in the formulation were 40%(w/w) and 7%omp respectively. A limiteed oxygen index(LOI) up to 28.9 was obtained for the UV-cured fabric, which may occur through a condensed phase mechanism as verified by the increased residue number with increased application level. The characterization of the UV-cured coating was made by IR analysis, thermo-gravimetric analysis, LOI test, and scanning electron microscopy.
