  • Thin films of polyimide (Pl) were fabricated by a vapor deposition polymerization method (VDPM) and studied for the photosensitive characteristic. Polyamic acid (PAA) thin films fabricated by vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) from 6FDA and 4-4' DDE were converted to PI thin films by thermal curing. From AFM and Ellipsometer experimental, the films thickness was decreased and the reflectance was increased as the curing temperature was increased. Those results implies that thin film is uniform. From UV-Vis spectra, PI thin films showed high absorbance in 225 $\sim$ 260 [nm] region.

  • We attempted to fabricate polyurethane derivatives (PU-CN, PU-DCM) LB films by using LB method. Also, we investigated the monolayer behavior at the air-water interface by surface pressure-area (${\pi}$-A) isotherms. The surface morphologies and the physicochemical properties of LB films were investigated by atomic force microscopy(AFM) and UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. And, the electrical properties of polyurethane derivatives LB films were investigated by using the conductivity and the dielectric constant. In the surface morphologies, physicochemical and electrical properties of polyurethane derivatives LB films, the properties is different as to the polyurethane derivatives, it is considered that this phenomena could be described by the difference of lumophore pendant which was adhered at PU main chain.

  • In this paper, we have fabricated Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films by LB technique and evaluated the deposited status of LB films by UV-vis absorbance. It was found thatthe thickness of LB films per a layer are $27~30[{\AA}]$ by ellipsometry. The responeses between LB films and organic gases were investigated using by I-V characteristics of LB films and F-R diagram of quartz crystal. The response orders between LB films and organic gases observed by I-V characteristics were as following ; chloroform, methanol, acetone and ethanol in the order of their short chain length. The response mechanism between LB films and organic gases observed by F-R diagram of quartz crystal could be modeled on adsorption at surface, penetration, desorption at surface and inside.

  • Isoindigo based small molecules have attracted much attention in the field of optoelectronic devices due to their broad absorbance and high charge carrier mobilitiies. Herein, we investigate the field effect transistor characteristics of a series of isoindigo based donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) small molecules containing a variable number of thiophene moieties (named IDT, ID2T, and ID3T) which form pi-bridges between the D and A moieites and a different donor moiety (IDED). In order to improve the carrier mobility, 1-chloronaphthalene (CN) and 1,8-diiodooctane (DIO) as solvent additives were used. The film morphology, crystallinity and optical properties of the materials processed with various concentrations of solvent additives were investigated through atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.

  • Here, utilizing rhodamine B (RhB) as standard color dye, we examined the photo degradation proficiency of $Ag_2Se-Graphene-TiO_2$ nanocomposites under visible light irradiation; samples were prepared by ultrasonication techniques and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic investigation and UV-Vis absorbance spectra examination. Our outcomes demonstrate that the $Ag_2Se-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite showed significant photodegradation efficiency as compared with those of $TiO_2-G$ and $Ag_2Se-G$, with around 85.2% of Rhodamine B (RhB) degraded after 180 min. It is concluded that the $Ag_2Se-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite is a competent candidate for dye pollutants.

  • Three carbazole chromophores featuring dicyano, cyano, ethyl acetate and dimethyl acetate groups as an acceptor moiety with a ${\pi}$-conjugated spacer and $N$-methyl dibenzo[$b$]pyrole as donor were synthesized by Knovenagel condensation and characterized by IR, $^1HNMR$, $^{13}CNMR$, UV-vis, fluorescence spectroscopy, electrochemistry and theoretical B3LYP/6-$311G^*$ level whilst NLO properties and spectroscopic quantities were calculated. Calculations showed remarkable trend with HOMO located on the donor moiety and LUMO on the acceptors dicyano methylene, cyano, ethyl acetate methylene and dimethyl acetate methylene. In agreement with the calculations, solvatochromic, behavior intramolecular charge transfer band was observed in the visible region.

  • In this study, we examined the photo-degradation efficiency of $CoSe_2$-Graphene-$TiO_2$ ($CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$) nanocomposites under visible light irradiation using rhodamine B (RhB) as standard dye. $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposites were synthesized by ultrasonication and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic analysis and UV-Vis absorbance spectra analysis. Our results show that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite exhibited significant photo degradation efficiency compared to pure $TiO_2$ and $CoSe_2-G$, approximately 85.2% of the rhodamine (Rh B) degraded after 2.5 h. It is concluded that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite is a promising candidate for use in dye pollutants.

  • Fluorene and carbazole-containing distyrylarylene model and polymeric fluorophores were prepared by reacting 2,7-dibromo-9-butylfluorene and 3,6-dibromo-9-butylcarbazole with styrene and divinylbenzene using the Heck reaction for the chemiluminesc ence. The UV-vis absorbance, photoluminescence (PL) as well as the chemiluminescence (CL) characteristics of the model and polymeric fluorophores were measured. Sodium salicylate-catalyzed reaction of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate (TCPO) with hydrogen peroxide produced a strong chemiluminescent blue light emission with 439-489 nm in the presence of the fluorophore. The wave-length of CL light was similar to that of photoluminescence. The chemiluminescent intensity was decayed according to the exponential equation. The glow of CL maintained more than 12 hr and was visible with naked eye.

  • We synthesized the gold nanoparticles (Au NPs)-embedded methylammonium lead iodide ($MAPbI_3$) film for the first time. The effects of metal nanoparticles on $MAPbI_3$ perovskite were systematically studied using UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. As a result, the 20-nm-sized Au NPs-embedded $MAPbI_3$ film exhibited a 4.15% higher absorbance than the bare $MAPbI_3$ film. Moreover, the average PL intensity of the Au NPs-embedded $MAPbI_3$ film increased by about 75.25% over the bare $MAPbI_3$ film. Therefore, we have confirmed that addition of the Au NPs has a positive effect on the optical properties of $MAPbI_3$, and we believe that this study will provide a basic insight into the metal nanoparticles-embedded perovskite thin films for the future optoelectronic applications.

  • Colored, electrophoretic polymer nanoparticles of poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene-co-vinyl acetate)[poly(St-co-DVB-co-VAc)] were prepared by emulsifier-free emulsion co-polymerization and reactive dyeing. The emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of styrene, divinyl benzene and vinyl acetate was carried out at $70^{\circ}C$ for 20 hrs to obtain monodisperse polymer nanoparticles of poly(St-co-DVB-co-VAc) with an average diameter of 180~200 nm. These nanoparticles were transformed into poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene-co-vinyl alcohol) [poly(St-co-DVB-co-VA)] nanoparticles through the saponification reaction. The poly(St-co-DVB-co-VA) nanoparticles were treated with reactive dyes to obtain the colored, monodisperse electrophoretic nanoparticles, and their morphology and surface charge were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, UV/Vis absorbance and zeta-potentiometry.
