As mobile device is becoming more popular, E-Commerce changes into M-Commerce. Especially, IMT-2000 (International Mobile Telecommunication 2000) service is prepared for M-Commerce and this has USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) as a core of certification of individuality and transactions. As a result, the area of mobile service going to expand by USIM. But, mobile services using USIM leave much to be desired, and developed application don't variety. In this paper, for the efficient design of USIM, the structure of USIM and protocol is analyzed, and secure payment solution in USIM is proposed. Specially, offline payment system is proposed for the verification of proposed protocols including security, saving, and calculation of balance. finally, the simulation of proposed payment system on USIM is performed using Java Card.

스마트폰의 USIM은 사용자가 별도로 인증정보를 입력할 필요가 없는 매우 편리한 인증 방법을 제공한다. 그러나 USIM에 저장된 정보가 외부로 유출될 경우 공격자가 손쉽게 정당한 사용자로 위장할 수 있는 문제점이 있다. 특히 USIM은 스마트카드에서 실행되는 어플리케이션이므로 기존에 스마트카드에 적용되었던 부채널 분석 공격 기법들이 USIM에도 적용 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 스마트폰 USIM에 대한 부채널 분석 공격 가능성에 대해서 분석하고 스마트폰 USIM에 적용될 수 있는 부채널 분석 환경을 제안한다.

This paper presents a user-friendly authentication system using a flexible USIM. In the proposed method and its system, the flexible USIM utilizes personalized data such as Mobile Directory Number(MDN) and social security number as the key to user authentication. The authentication method proposed in this paper permits limited times of use and/or limited duration of use. A simple simulation model shows that the proposed algorithm works well and shows high compatibility with existing authentication methods. In addition, an alternative or more advanced authentication system can be developed with the proposed flexible USIM card. It is seen that this simple alternative method will eventually be able to make wireless communication networks more easily accessible for subscribers, irrespective of user environments.

정보 통신기술의 발전으로 단말기와 네트워크에 독립적인 부가서비스를 이용할 수 있는 개방형 가입자인증 카드인 USIM(Universal Subscriber Identification Module) 카드가 이용되고 있다. 모바일 정보기기의 성능 향상으로 다양한 기능이 추가되고 USIM에 저장된 개인정보의 중요성이 부각되어 범죄 도구로 이용될 가능성이 높아 졌으며 법정 증거자료로서의 중요성도 증가되었다. 모바일 포렌식은 기존의 데이터 저장장치와는 다른 파일시스템을 가지고 있기 때문에 거기에 맞는 전용 포렌식 툴들이 필요하며, USIM과 관련된 범죄가 일어날 때, 자료의 복구와 빠른 검사를 통해 법적 증거화 시킬 수 있는 USIM 포렌식 틀을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 USIM의 기본적인 구조와 파일시스템을 분석하고 USIM 포렌식 관점에서 증거화 시킬 수 있는 다양한 유형과 절차들을 알아보고, 현재 사용 중인 USIM 포렌식 툴들에 대해 비교 분석한다.

USIM(UMTS Subscriber Identity Module) technology that accept 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) standards for information security supports security function in 3GPP. Supported security functions of USIM are confidentiality of user identity, mutual authentication and key agreement between end user and network, confidentiality of user data and data integrity. It is very important technology in wireless network. It makes secure environment that user and service provider can use securely mobile service in network. In this paper, design and implementation USIM security module that supports common network access method and authentication protocol in 3GPP and WLAN(Wireless LAN) and AAA (3A-Authentication Authorization Accounting) server system based RADIUS.

차세대 이동통신 서비스인 IMT2000에서 기본적으로 탑재될 예정인 USIM 카드는 스마트 카드의 또 다른 이름으로서 보다 더 안전하고 다양한 기능을 수행할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 USIM 카드의 유효성을 입증하기 위하여, 쇼핑몰 마일리지 통합 관리 어플리케이션을 제안한다. 마일리지 통합 관리 어플리케이션은 USIM 카드의 메모리에 저장되어, 한 개인의 독립적인 프로그램으로서 작동되며, 적립된 마일리지의 현금화를 가능하게 한다. USIM 카드의 연산 기능을 이용하여, 각기 다른 마일리지 체계를 가지는 여러 쇼핑몰들간의 통합 마일리지를 직접 계산하고 적립할 수 있는 프로그램을 제안하였다. 본 시스템의 핵심은, 공인기관의 디렉토리를 참조하여 USIM 카드로 서베이 한다는 점이다.

3세대 이동통신 방식인 WCDMA가 상용화됨에 따라 국내에서도 GSM 방식의 SIM 카드의 역할을 하는 USIM(Universal Subscriber identity Module) 카드가 본격적으로 도입되었다. USIM 카드는 WCDMA 단말기에 필수적으로 장착되며, 기존의 SIM 카드의 기본적인 기능 이외에도 다양한 기능이 추가될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 자바카드의 구조 및 보안적 특징, USIM의 보안 요구사항 및 자바카드를 위한 USIM 아키텍쳐에 대해 설명한 후에 USIM의 다양한 활용을 위한 보안 고려사항에 대하여 논의한다.

본 논문에서는 WCDMA, LTE에 이르기까지 USIM을 사용한 국내 이동통신서비스 시장에서 단말기정보를 사용하여 USIM에 의한 사용자 인증을 제한하여 이용자의 정상적인 통신서비스의 이용을 제한하는 현상이 벌어지고 있는것과 관련하여 국내에서 USIM을 사용하기 시작한 뒤부터 최근에 이르기까지 어떻게 이용자의 USIM 사용을 제한하여 장치 활용성을 저해하여 왔는지에 대한 방법과, 이로 인하여 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 5-Any 중(中) 하나인 Any-Device성(性)을 저해하는 현상과 영향에 대하여 논한다.

오늘날 USIM 서비스는 그 중요성과 사용자 요구에 의해 시장규모가 나날이 증가되어 가고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 USIM 서비스의 핵심 기술이라 할 수 있는 보안메카니즘 중 3GPP TS 23.048 과 자바카드 규격에 따라 IMT-2000 에 장착된 USIM 서비스를 지원하기 위한 Securing Message 전송 기술에 관하여 연구하였다.

제 3세대 이동통신인 IMT2000에서 단말기는 기존의 통신수단으로서의 역할과 함께 인증, 지불, 로열티 등 다양한 어플리케이션을 이용한 서비스를 가능하게 하는 수단이 될 것이다. 이것을 가능하게 하는 핵심요인은 USIM이라는 IC 카드가 단말기에 내장되기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 USIM의 구조에 대한 관련 기술과 단말기와 USIM 사이의 프로토콜 형식 및 안전한 지불을 위한 Off-Line 결제 모델을 제안하였다. 제안한 모델은 하드웨어 자체의 제약으로 인해 적절한 크기의 어플리케이션 설계와 효율적인 프로토콜의 설계가 필요하다. 유효성을 입증하기 위해 관련표준을 고찰하였고 썬마이크로 시스템의 Java card 2.1.1 툴킷을 이용하여 시뮬레이션하였다.
